PS I love all my blocks! Thanks you gals are great.

Wow frogquilter, you are being so organized. Mine are in in two piles, cut up and waiting to be cut up. Of course, i have all the fabric for each block and a general idea of each for a block style, just have to not make lemonade out of them and they will get out. I have all my envelopes addressed and ready to stuff, stamp, and mail.

That is a beautiful bunch of blocks, Bibliostone. Your work is definitely impressive, all put together into that virtual quilt. Nice job!

.... almost make me wonder why we mail back any blocks.... But if we all sent out our F8s and then just kept what F8s come our way, I guess that would be an entirely different swap!

Just thinking out loud..
hugs, Jupiter

Today I received a most beautiful block from sewcornie! Thank you so much. I love it! How do you get such perfect quarter inch seams?

I'm so glad you like it! As for my 1/4" seams, I know just the right spot to line up my edges on my presser foot. Works pretty well for me.

Good evening everyone!

It's been awhile since I have posted on here - been busy with school and family and work or is it work, school and family. My head is spinning from everything. Here are pics of the blocks I have rec'd recently. Thanks to everyone - I love all my blocks.

I have two things going on that have to be done by Aug 15th so once those are done I am free to work on my boomerang blocks. I think I have fabric paired up with everything and know what I want to do. Just need to cut and sew....no big deal, right?

Just like everyone else I need f8 from letsquilt, scollard and wanda123. Thanks again for all the wonderful blocks everyone is sending!

Good morning! It's been a long, long time since I've posted. I apologize ... life just isn't cooperating this summer. Now that things are calming down, I'll start mailing everyone's blocks back in the next couple of days -- it was a thrill to receive each person's F8 as it came in the mail. I actually got my F8s in the mail yesterday. (I promise to do better next time!) You should receive them by early next week. My fabric is a gray and black batik. Please use batiks with this but any colors that you want to use. Have a ball with the colors -- I'm hoping for a scrappy, Amish, batiky looking quilt when it's all done. ;-) Thank you again. Even though I haven't been able to participate as I'd planned, this has been a lot of fun! Cindy

Its nice to hear from you, Cindy. I was afraid we lost you. This is a fun swap, and you will love making up blocks in so many different and interesting fabric choices. I amaze myself everytime I take an F8 that really is not a fabric I would choose, and then see it as a beautiful finished block. It stretches my limits!

hugs, Jup

QuilterMomma 08-11-2011 07:40 AM

Scollard, with a batik you want amish? I may have trouble with that because my batiks are not subdued by no means. Will see what I can find in the stash.

Glad to hear I am not the only one that is working on getting her blocks out. The good news, I worked on some and have a few ready to go out, bad news, I had to make lemonade out of one of them. Sending her the lemon block, did not realize that the pattern I was using, 4:00 a.m. thing, was for a nine inch when I cut it out. Oh my, so glad I had enough to make another one the correct size. Glad I had just the right brown band fabric. Had a daughter in band for four years, that fabric was easy to match up. It is my understanding that we do not send back the leftovers of the f8 we received, if so, oops, let me know but I have not received mine back so figured this to be the case. I am hard at work. Hope to finish the rest tonight and tomorrow, only 25 more to go, and "I know what I am going to do today as P&F would say."

I did take photos of them, but working on blocks have not posted any yet. Will try when taking a break. I have all the garden caught up, veggies picked and put up, except that delicious rhubarb jam that will be after the blocks. I also have to work this weekend so will be a bit slow.
