I had to double check before I responded... but, nope, not me. I haven't had time to sew in over a week now. Hopefully!!! tomorrow. I took a day off from school.

Jaba, that is the most fantastic block! I love the way those bell peppers shine. You see, the wait was worth it!!

I finished the following blocks and they will be going home to their owners tomorrow, Oct. 2nd.
Marcialee, 1000projects, Lovingizabella (side swap), PinkLotus, and daisey.

I received a side swap from QuiltingMommy.

Looking good on all those blocks everyone. I love looking at them. Gives me ideas.

TwinRiverFarm: This is my second boom. On my first one I started out using the same pattern but some of the fabric just didn't look right so I started looking at the quilter's cache site and that was all I needed. I now try to find a pattern that will show off the fabric or theme that the person wants. It is amazing some of the blocks some of the folks do as they do look intricate and so pretty. I am not brave enough to try that yet.

Marytoddliz---the gobus stops in San Bernardino.....you have to come down off that mountain top to catch it. I go to visit relatives who have choosen to live in that hot, desert land. Most residents there don't go near the casinos but live in little small town like areas but all have a Las Vegas address.
So here is what you can do Mary BEth....you can run down the mountain to the bus stop. We'll wait for you.

oooo, i love looking at all the blocks made so far. pink lotus-- i am making a po run tomorrow i PROMISE! lol. it's less than a mile away and sometimes it feels as far as siberia! ds leaves for london tonight. i am being strong as long as i can! he is, too. the quilt is finished and washed and dried. we will see if it fits in the suitcase or not. may end up being sent, poop! i'm thinking of adding some quilting in the sashing. i think if i do it like a 'vine motif' i can start and end it away from the binding and it will look intentional. i was so tired when i finished the sitd, i just couldn't face doing more. has anyone added quilting to a finished quilt? how well did it work out?
i love doing these booms! i took one off to work on my skills and i just missed it too much! for me this is fun, education and friendship all in one! thanks, guys!

Nancia, have him carry it on the plane with him! he might need to to stay warm! I always freeze when I fly, would love to have a nice quilt to take with me!

Off subject does anyone know how to clean a really old quilt? I was the lucky duck this weekend at a 2nd hand store I got two really old quilts, with some damage that will be a easy fix (famous last words) and both are soiled. One is a pink with muslin backing and hand quilted, the other is shades of solid green with muslin, also hand quilted. The pink one had extensive damage on the binding so I removed it all and will find a reproduction pink that will match and make a new binding. I got them both for $5.00 They are so awesome and will be wonderful when I get them fixed up nice.

Barb, when is that bus stopping in San Bernardino, I might just have to run down the Hill to catch it!

Marybeth perhaps dry cleaning? a soak in a bathtub with something gentle to wash it, no major aggetation? spell check ladies. Good question and will wait for an answer .. I tried a woolight soak with an old wool felt rug I had purchased,. disaster in the making. I ruined it. an antique no less, squirrels acorns big too like three feet and i killed it big time. Red permanetly everywhere on it. I was soo stupid. Never again.

I have never been to vegas. I went to Reno once, so pretty at nighttime.. then you wake up and it was not what I had expected. After that we went to Tahoe and that was pretty enough. Gambling not so much fun but going for friends or fabric that sounds like lots of fun. April well chastisted.. got the message loud and clear. Won't happen again.

bck to fun, today I was gone all day and all I thought about was getting back here to sewing.. tired now but its high on the agenda for tomorrow. heck with cleaning. I will finish a wall hanging and a block that is the goal. Stanford was an ok visit.. don't have to go back til November which is wonderful and for the transplant clinic I got the clear for six months which is a big TADA moment. I loved that news. now to get in that other transplant listing.. news will be out Today yes or no.. crossing fingers..

Well Good Morning Quilting Angels!!! I have an assignment for you all today. Take a moment, step outside, close your eyes and just relax. Listen to the sounds and take in the scents of nature. Open your eyes and be inspired!!!!

On a lighter note, I cut out the pieces for 3 more blocks last night. Will try to get sewed this week. Working on swapping fabric for my fab swap I host, being VP for our Civic Club working on my annual holiday event, working and keeping up with a 2-1/2 year old...what was I thinking??? Oh wait...was thinking I "needed" an excuse to sew. ;) I know first hand that life can get in the way...just blessed for the time that I do get for myself to share with each of you. Some blocks may be simple while others are complex, however I think they all showcase your fabrics beautifully as well as showcases a piece of my heart and soul. That brief moment in life that I dedicated my life to you and truly got to know you through your fabric choices and through encounters here.

This board is my quilty family. Y'all are where I turn to when the day is going down the toilet, or when I'm at my joyous best. I have some quilty sisters, just none are near by. Those quilty sisters I have met on here and those who continue to inspire. So, thank you, each and every one of you, for adding joy to my life, sharing your pain with us so we can either help take even just a little bit away, or put a smile on each other's faces everyday. Each of us is joined by an amazing bond...the quilting bond that can never be broken!!!

Quilty hugs and love from this quilter's heart to each of you today. Enjoy your day and be merry and smile, even for a second, because you know that this gal cares about you!!!
