I received squishies today from Jaba, ljdugas31, moonrise, moonworks and TheMamaHauser.

Moonrise.....If your darlling dad likes to see the squishies opened...how are you going to keep a secret from him???? I think it is wonderful but was wondering.
Moonworks.......Ok you are going to test my learning skills on paper piecing. LOL. I can do it yes I can. (I have to keep telling myself that)

Um ... are the names reversed? 'Cuz my dad isn't interested in quilting. Wish he was! :) On my note, I meant that either traditional piecing or paper piecing is fine. Just no applique' or embroidery. It doesn't have to be paper pieced. Any pieced block will be great. Sorry for the confusion. :)

No squishies were in my mailbox today. :(

travelinggramma 02-01-2013 07:00 PM

All my f8s went ot today. Tried another post office and got away with 66 cents for USA and 1.05 for Japan aND Canada. Now how can it b the same amount to travel to Japan and to Canada??
I did get to change your addy KAT before I mailed yours out. Will see just how long it takes for it to get down to the valley!

Yep, you gots us confused a little bit... Moonwork (works under the light of the moon) -- Dad will see all the blocks but he won't know the end product will be his. That's what will be funny.

Moonrise --- early in the night...

See, we're different as night and day :D

Moonrise - Got your lovely F8 today (Dad was practically panting with anticipation until I got home to open it.)

TheMamaHauser 02-01-2013 08:50 PM

I was squish-less today. That's ok - I've got a couple client quilts I should work on while I wait.

Elisabrat 02-01-2013 09:06 PM

Ok love my post office most went for 46c. The universal world stamp is now for regular weight envelopes to international. same price anywhere in the world under 1 ounce I think. yahoo.

I received envelopes from Abbys mom, Jaba and Melissa in Ringgold GA. now to go mark that down on the spread sheet and what fabric i received. yahoo..

urgodschild2 02-02-2013 08:35 AM

I will have to check out the Universal World stamp. Never heard of it.

Moonwork.....I have you straight. I know he will be surprised.
I have patterns picked out so I am off to pick out material to go with it.
Those of you who want black or white........you have made my choices so simple....Just had to decide on the pattern.

i rec'd Jaba's yesterday and the others mentioned today with exception of Oldcatlady. I got Joanelizbay instead. so 7 fabrics to get busy on--have possible pattern choices for 4 of them. Oh this is fun!

travelinggramma 02-02-2013 01:49 PM

Received: oldcatlady, moonrise, Abbysmom, Mamahauser, lgdugas, and jaba.
Also had the post office return to me 5 of the envelopes that THEY put postage on with a note stating it needed it more postage - I really don't like this post office!

TheMamaHauser 02-02-2013 02:15 PM

I really don't don't have a plan for that fabric so surprise me :) I ran out of the two main fabrics and so I picked a fabric that I had a good chunk of for the last few swaps.

TwinRiverFarm 02-02-2013 03:02 PM

DH came in all excited with all 7 squishies listed by everyone! Hmmm, maybe he is becoming a quilter wanna-be? Nope, I won't share my toys. They are all beautiful fabrics, and amazingly, many played very well together. I am going to challenge myself to match up and use the scraps from one block in another, unless they need to go back home. Could be fun ! My F8's went out in the mail yesterday.

babyfireo4 02-02-2013 03:06 PM

Quick question: is everyone doing all 38 people? I thought I signed up for a small group and sent F8 to the first page. I just realized today that there is a second page. I will mail those F8's soon, sorry I didn't realize there were two pages.

April I will pray today was just an off day and not a failure on your stint. Dont even go there. Maybe its a bit of a set back from the fall? oh crud its going to be fine. Keep the faith.

I received in today Kelly's batik, moonwork your dots for dad!, ljdugas your gorgeous lilacs, and joan B your soft yellow fabric for the yellow/white quilt your making. That is an amazing amount in just two days in 8. wow. you guys are really on top of things this time! I am very impressed. I realized I did not put the group name on the envelope knew I forgot something I am sorry. Hopefully the name paper inside helped you figure which group I am in.

LovingIzabella 02-02-2013 08:34 PM

Linda I am staying hopeful it is fine...if I need surgery again I am not sure I'll make it back to work...
I am throwing a curveball to you. I am not sending you the orange but something even wilder lololol
I will post this in the other thread too but all of my fabric pieces sent are cut large enough so that if you want to use it as the background for appliqué or embroidery you can :)
Hugs
April

That was one of the 108" backings from the Stonehenge line by Northcott. The "normal" 42" version of that fabric has some shimmer to it. I guess they thought it was too expensive to make the back shimmer too. I love all their fabric - just finished a giant disappearing 9-patch with it (plus 2 batiks in gray & dark charcoal)... here's a picture.

I am anxiously waiting those little envelopes! I can't imagine what the mailman here will do if he can't get them all in our mail drop box! I finished the first 31 at work and mailed 21 with our mail pick up and 10 later at Japan Post. Got up Saturday morning and completed the last 6 and went to the 24 hour post office and mailed them off. If you could see the first batch you would laugh-I even added the little stickers from the stamp sheets. Then I started getting pressed for time and started just being satisfied if they were well-secured and had the correct postage. I just want to thank everyone in this group for being willing to pay the higher postage for us foreign swappers!

I will do my best on everyone's block!

Gaijin
