Okay! All F8ths are officially in the mail! Also 4 grown-ups are on their way home: moonwork42029, oldcatlady, TheMamaHauser, and joanelizbay. Been doing really good about workin the the order received. Sorry it took so long to get everything sent out. Did find out that to fix my car she will be getting her transmission rebuilt and I should have her back in about 2-3 weeks. I'm going to post the blocks in their own tab on my blog if you want to peak ;)

moonwork42029 02-19-2013 07:51 PM

Much fun at our house tonight! After I got back from visiting with my fellow Strippers & Hookers, Dad had the mail sorted out on the table. So of course I had to open the bills and regular mail first, lol.

Got a f8 from Navarre2011

Still missing f8 from:
babyfire (saw where you mailed them today)
dottie dodge
girlscouts1
jaydee3
lovngrandma
mosher92
tracibug

Got 2 wonderful blocks with terrific notes in them too. Dad even got one co-addressed to him and he cackled out loud when he saw it. He said he was glad no one was around to hear him. The notes were very sweet and he enjoyed reading them.

Dad reading the card from Gaijin...he said it was over 50 plus years since he'd had a letter from overseas. It tickled him to no end.

Block from Gaijin...nope - we don't have another one like it :)

Phannie sent this great block with tons of hand stitching. Dad flipped it over and commented about how much time it took to do it. Thanks for the note you included also. I am lucky to have him around and we do enjoy each other. He's very easy to get along with and it's nice being able to have "eyes" on him and his health every day.

Mailed grown-up block to TheMamaHauser. It is on my other thread if you wish to peek.

moonrise 02-19-2013 10:27 PM

Navarre2011's block is finished and will go out in the mail shortly.

Awaiting F8s from:

Tracibug

Oh no! Let's give it a few more days. Maybe the post office being closed Monday has delayed the mail a bit. :)

dahna42 02-20-2013 03:46 AM

TwinRiverFarm I sent you a private message. I think you sent me the wrong finished block.

LovingIzabella 02-20-2013 07:13 AM

Hi All,
I know I am due for an update of my own but I just wanted to pop in and gently remind everyone to please remember to measure blocks before mailing them home and to please do your best to abide by color wishes if they are included with the fabric :)
Hugs
April

Cuppy / Moonrise --

This came to me and I forwarded it on... I thought I had made a note but I guess I did on my sheet and not here...so sorry.

I got 2 from Cuppy -- one to Moonwork Lisa and one to Moonrise Lisa

Moonrise your f8 from Cuppy is in the mail from Possum Trot...make sense?

travelinggramma 02-20-2013 08:33 AM

Cuppy - I mailed my F8's early on. If you don't have it - I will mail another one to you. Is anyone else missing my F8?

I love having my 85 yo mom and her 80 yo sister at the house - but I sure do miss sewing. I feel like I have two toddlers underfoot - from morning til night - and they bicker just like toddlers!! Love it all!

quiltingmommy 02-20-2013 08:50 AM

I tried posting pics of the four finished blocks that I received this weekend, but they didn't show up. Try two.

If I can get out of my driveway tomorrow blocks will be going home to Phannie, missgigglewings and country1. No new F8's today either :(
Moon, how old is your dad? He is a very happy looking man. I took my 87 year old cousin to the eye doctor today and tried to show her some of the blocks posted on here but she just cant see well enough to see them..her comment to me was "Be thankful you can see and still sew"...so sad..

Sounds good to me!

....

No squishies in today's mail, so I'm working on a doll quilt for a swap ... but I'm liking how it's turning out a little TOO much, so it might end up being for ME instead! LOL! :D

urgodschild2 02-20-2013 05:11 PM

This is the first time that I did not get some kind of boom swap stuff in the mail. Sigh. I guess I just can't get squishies every day. I made three blocks today but none for this group. Seeing that I am in all 5 groups I will have 90 blocks to make. I am up to 31/90. Not bad. That is one/third there. Yah hoo. I mailed out two of the three blocks that I made. But the other one needs a walk to the PO as it is going to Australia. I love looking at the finished blocks.

roseirish48 02-20-2013 05:28 PM

mailed off the seven blocks I had finished over past week. no new squishies in mail today

moonwork42029 02-20-2013 07:08 PM

Dad turned 82 last August. His vision really is good but his hearing is shot. He reads all the time and loves word search puzzles...when I'm not sewing

quiltingmommy 02-20-2013 07:18 PM

I mailed out 10 finished blocks today to 10 lucky people, hopefully the blocks will brighten your day you 10.

Gaijin 02-20-2013 07:27 PM

Your father is adorable! Please let me know if I can ever send him another card or anything else!

Gaijin

jaba 02-20-2013 08:00 PM

Nothing in the mail today here either. Hope everyone has their F8's in the mail. If you haven't done so, please mail your fabric out so those of us that want to get them done and home to you can do so. Put a friends quilt on the table so I can get it quilted for her and worked on some blocks for a quilt I'm making.

Elisabrat 02-20-2013 09:58 PM

I didnt make it out to mail blocks home today.. too much snow and as I am a gimp I need a bunch of assistance getting down stairs and across the yard to the car. Tomorrow I have to go out so I will mail! and pick up mail! and work on a couple more blocks while I am at it. I will update after the mail pick up who is still missing in receivables and what has come home! yahooo. Last year I was half way done with fifty blocks by this time. I am taking it a bit slower and trying to give everything quality time. I think its working :)

April and Izabella your block is going to leave here tomorrow also! I went through every single box I had nothing matched. I finally found a small piece of tea stained fabric I made last year for another tough block to match. I think its spot on :) and I did set the fabric wash and dry it so the color is good to go. phew. I hope your little angel likes it.

mosher92 02-21-2013 03:42 AM

Hello all fellow swappers, I am half way through the postings of 51 pages and have used up my alotted time so I want to post who I haven't rec. F8's from yet as I have rec. most of them. The stragglers are,
quilttingmommy
Tracibug
babyfire04 ( sorry for your loss, I hope she is at piece now and you and her loved one are too)
dottie dodge
girlscouts1
jaydee3
loveingizabella

I have yet to send out my F8's but have them ready so don't give up on me, they will arrive sometime.

tracibug 02-21-2013 09:55 AM

I'm hoping to mail by early next week... stick with me, I was almost caught up on my overcommitments and then the landlord called and asked if he could have an appraiser come do a walkthru for his refinance. WTH... Doesn't he know I don't have time to CLEAN!?!?!?

Elisabrat 02-21-2013 12:55 PM

Traci let him have his walk through. if its a mess so what. you work hard on getting these out and not only will you be relieved but everyone be too. same with the other stuff reduce your stress load. pick at one and pick at it really well. go go go!! we are right here. you can do it. come on girl you work miracles. work this one you truly will raise up in your confidence and happiness lifting one thing at least one thing off your shoulder. phew.. lighter already?

Gaijin 02-21-2013 02:31 PM

Elisabrat,

You are so inspiring!

Gaijin

joanelizbay 02-21-2013 02:50 PM

Gaijin, did you mail your F8 to me in Missouri? Still dont have it and thought you mailed all yours pretty early!! No mail at all today but we have almost 10 inches of snow so probably no mail man either! LOL. Made it home with hardly any problem but got stuck half in my driveway, half in road..hope my nephew comes by soon to dig me out! :)

quiltingmommy 02-21-2013 02:59 PM

I got 6 blocks finished this week: ELisabrat, Phannie, Travelinggramma, Cuppy, RoseySue & Moonrise

I just finished updating my photo album in my profile.

That makes 19/35 done: 54% :)

There are still 9 of you who haven't got my F8's yet. I am hoping to get these out in the next week or so. Please be a little patient. After all, I am sure that you cannot be completely finished and just waiting to do your last block, mine.

urgodschild2 02-21-2013 04:06 PM

Trying to figure out how to make a block when the person only sent me a 10 X 15 inch material. Not 11 X 18 or 9 X 22 but 10 X 15. I keep coming up short on all the patterns I have selected so I think that I will have to make up my own pattern so that I can make it fit. This one really has me stumped.

I had one that was small, too. I made it work, but had to do some "creative piecing". Maybe she was running low on fabric, and had to cut the F8s smaller. It worked out in the end, though. :)

Today's mail had this lovely block in it! It's from Navarre2011, and I love it! Thanks so much!

roseirish48 02-21-2013 05:11 PM

finished the block for urgodschild2---wanted to use some color like olive green, orange red, blue grey in it but she only wants white. but I found Bird of Paradise pattern and it worked beautifully. Posted pic in album on my profile.

joanelizbay 02-21-2013 05:21 PM

jaba 02-21-2013 05:35 PM

Dang jaba...

I wish I had more time to sew but feel good to get 3 - 4 done in a whole week. Being down in my back / neck didn't help any either.
