Amen!! 1/4" foot is a quilters' lifesaver! If you don't have one for your machine, place a small strip of painters' tape on the bed of your machine so that the inner edge of tape is 1/4" away from your needle, & line up your fabric edges along it. Works as a great substitute!

Chigger Holler Quilter 01-10-2011 05:17 PM

Greetings from a snow covered Chigger Holler! It's been a busy few days and thought I'd better give you an update. Highlight of my day was all the squishies in the mailbox when I got home from the dentist! (yuk)
I got f8s today from:
Janecat
MarieM
Moonrise, AnnTherrian
Brenda 5
I'm so impressed with the beautiful fabrics I've been receiving and overwhelmed with the thought that I need to make the blocks and get them back to you. :( I want every one to be special. Please post if you have anything in mind for your blocks. Style or colors of your quilt, etc. I have some great blocks picked out for the fabs that came in last week. It seems like I have to look at them and let them speak to me before I can decide! This is so much fun but it's a good thing I have some time. Problem is I think I'm obsessed with doing this! Nothing else is getting done for sure! LOL

and I mailed while I was in town:
Ann Therrian
belladawn
bibliostone
brenda5
craftyainemom
CyndiH
Gigi07
goldendog55
janecat
jlin52
jtapp9
karen
Kathy N
Katie Ann
Kristen0112
Ksea
Lillie
MarieM
Mbogenpohl
moonrise

I still have several to go...but don't give up. They'll be in the mail soon!

Yeah my foot is marked. i just have an attention problem. I keep forgetting that 1/4" is just left of the mark and not under the mark.

I'm getting there!

I'm actually going searching for the foot that has a little edge at the 1/4" mark.

Hi Everyone,
I know you haven't seen me me on here before. Well, my face is bright red. I am so embarrassed because up until this moment, I have thought I was a bestie.
Honest, I am not a spy.For some reason, my head must not have been very well connected to my eyes that day.
I've been merrily going along posting on besties (maybe it was the name?) and didn't notice anything strange till I started receiving squishies.
On Sat I received 4:
moonrise
Sewwhat85
JaneCat
Emile T (what is your board name?)
And then today I received 5:
Shaysmema
goldendog55
jtapp9
bibliostone
Marie M (what is your board name?)

After receiving today's and finding that most of the names were not familiar to the ones others were getting, I began to wonder why.
To make a boring story end, you kow the end. OOPS!

To bring you up-to-date, I received my fabric today. It is washed and waiting for me to iron it and prepare to be mailed first thing tomorrow.
Hopefully you will be receiving it this week sometime.
I look forward to reading all the posts you all made so far and catching up on all the news.
If you have any questions for me, I would love to answer them.

Welcome Roseysue! I believe her boardname is MarieM. I looked for something different and missed her name on my list at first also :)

Roseysue 01-10-2011 06:14 PM

Thanks jtapp for MarieM name and for your F8 today, I am going to let it speak to me - interesting geo.

I feel stupid now. All I had to do was go look and I already have TWO 1/4" quilting feet

I guess because I didn't quilt much until recently that I always just used my regular foot with a mark on it.

Wow, things will be so much smoother now

Hello RoseySue, my board name is AnnTherrien and that was Emile T. (Emil) who is my husband. Don't feel bad it is a common error. I have always used my name as a board name, however, it looks like I will have to get creative and make one up. Maybe later, cuz I have a lots of blocks to make. Glad you found the right group.

Thanks for responding. Now I am getting to know a whole new group of quilters.
I guess that's like having the best of both worlds. At least now the names will be familiar.
I think I would have noticed something strange when I packaged my F8's tonite.
I better get at that, matter of fact or I'll be up all nite. It sure is hard to get away from this keyboard.
