This sounds lilke fun, but I don't quite understand. Is this fabrics that have chickens on them or is it a quilt block?

It's a quilt block that can include chicken fabric but doesn't have to. For this swap, the discussion is: Should the block be different size. (That's how I am understanding it anyway).

I think I saw the funky chicken quilt. Looks like fun to make. I don't have the pattern either.

Here is a link (I hope) to the Chicken Buffet patterns....but we wouldn't necessarily have to do something like that. If ya'll like the "funky chicken" idea...it could be either a whimsical type pattern....or just a chicken block done in fabrics that you might not expect...or colors you might not expect...

We also have ideas thrown up about no specific block size assigned...but must be divisable by say 3"....

Other ideas???? I know we have a wonderfully creative group here.... :D

I'd love to do more chickens. I have an applique pattern picked out from Fatcatpatterns.com >>the one called "Chicken", maybe in some bright batiks. Certainly are some other very "funky" chickens there, too. I also like the idea of being able to do multiples of 6, instead of multiples of 12.

Thanks, sandpat, for getting this started.

May I suggest that the group take a look at Sindy Rodenmayer's Fat Cat Patterns as she has some great patterns which she generously makes free to the public.
www.fatcatpatterns.com She has some fun and funky chicken patterns at her site.

Yes, she does have some great patterns!

So....thoughts are....sets of 6....no set block size (just divisable by 3")...funky chickens???

Oooh, I LOVE the idea of funky chickens!! (Jumping up and down with excitement! :-D :D )
