hang in there, you might want to length your stitches. i've found that helps with blocks laying flat.

and remember to press the seams in alternating directions this way you can nest them to each other when sewing the rows together. it helps to line up those seams.

i use a bamboo skewer to keep things lined up when i'm passing it thru the needle on the machine. you don't have to worry if the needle hits the skewer your needle won't break.

THANX JOANNES!!!

YW - I was confused for a bit myself! Now I'm pre-washing my fabric, so I can sew my blocks. The sooner I get them done, the better I'll sleep! I guess my 'sleeping' self doesn't like me to say, 'I'm in!' LOL

Thanks Joannes!!!

Hi I would like to be a part of this swap. I think I need to find the book, as I wasn't able to open your folder for beginners. I will need more directions then what is given.
I've just joined and not sure that it went through. I don't understand what all the abrivations mean, so not sure if I got everything in.
So my e-mail is [email protected].
Thanks, Bette

cheriffic 08-06-2009 06:57 PM

Are we making one for each quilter or just the 18?

just 18 blocks per set. you can always do 2 sets if you'd like to make a throw instead of a table runner.

if you decide to do 2 sets you would pick another block and make 18 of that block.

cheriffic 08-06-2009 07:02 PM

Ok I understand now. Just din't want to jip anyone

here's a sample table runner with all the blocks we have so far - we have more than 18 blocks.

bearisgray 08-06-2009 07:40 PM

The sample is nice - are you able to add the block numbers to each block?

kluedesigns 08-06-2009 07:46 PM

in the software i can place the mouse over the block and it tells me which one it is but i don't think there's a way for me to have the letter & number print on or near the blocks.

buddy'smom 08-06-2009 11:23 PM

I would like to do G-4 if not taken??
Kimberly

tlrnhi 08-07-2009 03:47 AM

I'm still thinking on this.
So, my understanding is....
We make ONE block, ALL the same, right??

KGoodhand 08-07-2009 04:10 AM

Correct! One block and you make 18 of them!

tlrnhi 08-07-2009 04:22 AM

ok, got it!
Now.....STILL DECIDING!

KGoodhand 08-07-2009 04:37 AM

Oh come on!!! What is one more thing!!!!
Do I need to borrow you wand?!?!? :D
I was the same way until Klue put that picture of the sampler on the thread, that was my breaking point!
I figured, even though there are 18 blocks, they are only 5" big! I can do that!!
Now where is that wand!!!
Kendra

its yours buddy's mom.

if you need me to send you cutting/templates/foundation just send me a PM with your email address.

tlrnhi 08-07-2009 05:22 AM

I think I need to NOT do this.
I have a TON of things I need to do.
One being....Craft Fair!
I have 77 soft books that need to be put together. Also have to get the mice cut out and done. Have some pot holders I want to make, along with some table runners. I still have the totes from last year and some pillowcases that I will bring again.
I'm also hoping to take a jaunt into Japan next week for a few days. I HAVE to be back by the 22d for a function I HAVE to be at.

So, I think I am going to bow out this time.
