Time for Doll Quilt Swap Part Deux!

DOLL QUILT SWAP GUIDELINES

SIZE: from 12”x12” to 24”x24”…any size or shape in between.

MATERIALS: natural fibers/cotton, wool, linen

EMBELLISHMENTS: if you want to use them, feel free…beads, rickrack, buttons, doilies, ribbon, lace….anything or nothing at all.

CONSTRUCTION: Pieced, appliquéd, wholecloth, or yo-yos; quilted by hand or machine; and bound.

LABEL: It is recommended that you attach a label to the back of your quilt. I know, this can be a bit scary for some people though, so it will not be a requirement. A label is however a very nice addition to any handmade quilt. Whether or not you decide to label your quilt, please do include a note with your quilt with your quilting board name, real name and contact information (snail mail address and/or email address, etc. so that they can thank you).

PARTNERS: You will be paired with a partner for this swap. You will make a quilt for your partner and your partner makes one for you. Feel free to discuss color considerations, likes and dislikes, etc. between yourselves. You will also be responsible for securing delivery addresses.

DUE DATE: The deadline for all quilts to be sent is June 30, 2009.

COMMUNICATION: If for any reason you cannot meet the deadline or you need to drop out of this swap, please let me know as soon as you know. If you communicate any setbacks with me I can make sure things work out favorably for your partner, no hard feelings.

SIGN UP: Sign up begins today and ends Tuesday, June 2, 2009. I’ll assign partners after that date.

And I was going to say the same thing to you! I love the idea of being surprised! Plus I like the idea of knowing that someone did what they love to do! Do you have colours that you prefer?!? Like spring colours, fall colours that sort of thing?!?

Chele - did you post somewhere a link to ideas for patterns? Or was I dreaming?! LOL Possible, I DO dream about quilt patterns! I have had several ideas so far for Kendra's but none yet that seem quite 'right'!

OK - I've FINALLY decided on a pattern for Kendra's! At 3am! My little girl woke up from a bad dream and after I sorted her out I couldn't go back to sleep, so I ran the potential ideas through my head and decided on.....

And here's an interesting twist from youme. She has a number of quilters from her sewing group in Japan that would like to swap small quilts with us. If you are interested in creating a second doll quilt and swapping with a talented Japanese quilter, please let me know. I thought it was a great idea.

Great idea! I'd like to be in it. As long as there's a longish deadline - my WIP list is getting out of control!
