I will explain how I used to do mine back when I was very active
in making/sending fabric post cards.

I used the Peltex 72 or Peltex 72F which had fusible on BOTH sides.
But for me it wasn't enough fusible so I added Heat n Bond LITE to
the Peltex.
I created a "back" for the FPC that I would print onto card stock.
This was the side that I used as the message/mailing side and for
postage.

The fabric side I would select the fabric of choice, than I would cut
the Peltex to size (4x6) iron to the back of fabric. Than trim the fabric
to size. At this point is when I would decide if I was going to be doing
any "sewing" (free motion quilting etc) to the FPC.

On the other side I would iron the back of the card stock to the back
side of the Peltex (NOT the same side as with the fabric of course).

Once ALL the ironing has been completed, than move on to embelishing
the FPC with sequins, glitter, or any thing you can think of.

I have a WHOLE box full of embellishments which also includes scrap
booking stuff.

Like I said before your imagination is the limits. I am going to try and
get my hubs (he is 6'3" so he can reach it no problem) to get the box
down for me tonight when I get home.

If anyone has Microsoft Excel on their computers I can email you my
"template" that I created for using with FPC. Just send me a PM with
your email address.

Jane I hope you don't feel as if I am stepping on your toes for sharing
my previous knowledge and tips.

Not in the least!! The more information shared, the better.

Here is one site - of many - with helpful info too:

We also used to make to the "unique/wacky holiday" theme such
as "left handed day", "ice sundae day" etc.

These wacky/unique/bizarre holidays can be found at WACKY DAYS
Each month there would be a "list" of these wacky holidays posted
at the beginning of sign ups. It was each persons choice to select
any day they wanted to represent for the FPC.

Of course I am not the one running the FPC swap, but just tossing
out some ideas for future swaps if this continues to to go forward.

So is the due date of November 30 correct?

When I first read it my brain said October 30, then I realized that today was the 29th and started to panic.....it's November 30 right?

jclinganrey 10-29-2014 04:25 PM

Yes. The due date is Nov 30th. You have plenty of time.

How's everyone doing? Has anyone mailed out their fabric postcards yet? They're not due til the Nov 30th but though I'd check. Please be sure to post pictures so we can all admire your creativity and get ideas, too!
