Default Fabric postcard swap

FABRIC POSTCARD SWAP

Wouldn’t be fun and exciting to receive a personalized handmade postcard? It’s such a great creative outlet and they’re so quick to make. Plus, it’s a wonderful ‘immediate gratification’ project. There are lots of online resources available with all sorts of ideas, inspiration and ‘how-to’s.’ We will have a general theme each month and, since these are so quick, the due date will be the end of each month. *** For our first swap, postcards will be due by NOVEMBER 30th and the theme is Thanksgiving ***

You may use cardstock cut to 4” x 6”, purchased blank postcards or some kind of stiff interfacing, i.e., Timtex, Fast2Fuse, Wonder Under, etc. If you use batting to make your postcard, be prepared to pay additional postage. Any other size will cost more postage. International swappers are welcome!

Please PM me with the following:
• QB screen name
• Real name
• Address/city/state/zip
• Favorite colors
• Which holiday do you celebrate? Christmas? Hanukkah? Neither? Something else?

This is not meant to be a Secret Pal kind of swap. Once I have everyone partnered up, I will post the QB names on the thread then will send along the above information by PM to the respective swappers.

Some required details:

• Postcards must be 4” x 6”
• They must have a finished edge, i.e., zig zag stitching, button hole stitching, satin stich, binding, etc.
• If you add a lot of embellishment, you may need to enclose your handmade postcard in a clear mailing envelope (available at the big box stores and online) in order for the USPS to handle it/mail it and so your postcard doesn’t get caught in their equipment.
• Your postcard must have adequate postage. Do not send something that will require the recipient to have to pay postage due. To be safe, please either check at your local post office or put 49 cents on your postcard for US. Check with your PO for international postage.
• You must PM me when you have mailed your postcard AND when you have received your postcard. Also, as a courtesy, please PM your sender to let them know you’ve received their postcard.
• Have fun and be creative!!

Jane

So far, we have:

Sewred
judee0624
& me. . .

so when we get one more swapper, I'll pair up the names. In the meantime, feel free to start creating your postcard masterpieces with a Thanksgiving theme. Oh!! Please post pictures so we can all enjoy your talent!

I have never made one of these, but want to learn how. I guess maybe it's better for me to watch this first months so I can see what you did so I can learn.

I'll try this if there is another person to exchange postcards with me. It sounds intriguing and challenging.

Going from my past experience with making fabric post cards
what I use is "Peltex 72F" it has fusible on both sides, and was
easier (for me) to find in stores.

Also for postage to mail a FPC it was .20 more because of thickness,
and type of post card.

Unless the USPS has changed since the last time I mailed a FPC
which was about 3 years ago.

MaryMo HONEST nothing to it. Just let your imagination run wild.

I am going to try and find my box of FPC that I received so I can show
some of them to y'all.
