Colletta is in danger of being swamped by an avalanche of blocks when all of those show up at her house!

Jim's Gem 08-31-2009 07:33 PM

Colletta; This is almost like Christmas. I can't believe how many people are signed up for this one.
I keep looking at more patterns and wanting to make all of them.
Would you please add a second block choice to mine --
Leaves and diamonds.
Thank you for all your time in this.
Elaine

I have a very strong "mail-lady".

Everyone's blocks are looking so nice! I need to finish up the quilt I'm working on and can't wait to get started on my blocks.

Esqmommy 09-01-2009 07:09 AM

Sign me up for another set. It will be a four patch with a four patch in it. I hope this is ok. Will post a pic next week.

Kyia

I figured out the math and it will be a nine patch in a four patch. I'll try to post a pic later this week.

like your block ko

collettakay 09-01-2009 07:42 AM

I can't believe we have at least 63 sign-ups already. This is shaping up to be as big as the Black and White Swap. I wonder if I'll have enough time to do a 3rd set. Hmm...

Justquilting 09-01-2009 09:31 AM

Kirsten,

I really like the green fabric in that block even if it isn't your "real" fabric.

I think I'll do a nine patch in a nine patch. It may look wierd. I'll have to see until I play with the blocks.

Just quilting...
I am loving your block and colors...
I wanted to make sure I could make a block behave to 12 1/2" and did not want to waste my "good" fabric so I will be making mine in some fall, muted colors...
I also wanted to try a new block, instead of the usual suspects...
Thanks for the compliments but am wishing I had time to do like 6 sets so I could get a sample of all the fabulous blocks that will be made.
Kirsten

Sign me up. My pattern is Buckeye Beauty.

OrchidQuiltFish(OQF) 09-02-2009 02:52 AM

Colletta,

I think my blocks will be Mississippi, Paper Pinwheels and Rail Fence. If I find other patterns I like more I will post a change.

Thank you

blueribbontoes 09-02-2009 07:12 AM

Here is my block! The green looks TERRIBLE in this photo- it is actually a very pretty sage with "stamped" darker green leaves, and specks of gold throughout the whole thing. Very "fall-esque," which isn't translated into the picture.

Here's a question for debate. I was shopping and saw some really cute fall print with Thanksgiving turkeys on it. I decided to not get turkeys since we specified "fall", but what is everyone's concensus about that?

collettakay 09-02-2009 05:50 PM

I personally would rather it just be fall and not as specific as Turkeys for Thanksgiving. I guess it would depend on the print. Is it an outdoorsy type print or a cartoony print?

SaraSewing 09-02-2009 05:56 PM

I saw both. Most were cartoony type. That is a good reply, because some of the "natural" looking turkeys are very "fall". It was kinda disappointing that there were not more fall prints out yesterday (9-1-09). Maybe folks are not in the "fall" mood until after laborday? Very few sales, too.

Colletta, I would like to change Harvest block to Centennial Block, if it has not been chosen, the basket is on its side unless you place it on point, I didn't realize this until today. Thanks

littlehud 09-03-2009 02:05 PM

Sounds good. Count me in.
