Fall Round Robin Group A
Dates for the Round Robin: the centers can be square or rectangle with at least one side 18" to 24"
9.1.21 mail center 10.1.21 mail 1st round 11.1.21 mail 2nd round 12.1.21 mail 3rd round 1.1.22 mail 4th round 2.1.22 mail 5th(final) round Each person will make their center and send it on to the next participant, who will add on a border, in the style and/or theme of the center block (or completely different but complimentary.) Each person in turn adds another border that compliments the quilt. Once the quilt has made the rounds to all participants it is mailed back to the original owner. Each border should be not more than 6" wide. We are experienced quilters. If you slap on a plain border because the piece needs a plain border, add something like applique. Don't be lazy on someone else's piece. Is there someone in this group that would like to help me manage all the posts and such since I am not part of this group? I will handle all the pm questions and concerns but if one of you wanted to help with the day to day of this group that would be helpful.

Have4boys, thank you for stepping up to help coordinate. That is very kind of you. I am looking forward to see what you will add to the Dresden Neighborhood. I know it will be nice. I love your flamingoes and I guess by the looks of it I will add its last row.
|
Please remember to communicate to the person you are mailing to before sending your center/round and also send them the tracking numbers.
|
Can anyone recommend any border books that I could use for the round robin?
|
I usually just Google themes or borders online.

I think I figured this out. If there is not a picture here, then I guess not. Anyway, this is ready to go and measures 23 by 20.25 and will finish at 22.5 by 19.75. I ship to RebaQuilts and can do that on Friday. Any tips on how to ship--what kind of mailer or box, type of shipping, etc? Thanks!

I'm a quiet observer of all the amazing creativity in the RR's and recently picked-up a few border books that were recommended on one of these threads awhile back. Somehow I accidentally acquired two copies of Pieced Borders The Complete Resource by Judy Martin & Marsha McCloskey and would be happy to send this gently used book to you, Annaquilts, for no charge. If you don't want/need this particular book then it's available to anyone else who would like it.

great center, lots of fun colors. Looking forward to watching this grow. |
How do ya'll go about signing up? I never see the sign up's and wind up out in the cold. Is it too late? I could still get a center out by the first.

Yeah I did see that, it's a row by row, I prefer robins. So ya'll are full up. How do I find out about the next one?

I have to wear a wrist brace for the next 6 weeks so am limited on sewing for a bit but would love to start another group in say October if Mona wouldn't feel like I was stepping on any toes. Seems like there was one other that signed up for the Round Robin Group B that didn't fill...I am thinking as ladies see these grow we may be able to fill another group by then. :)
|
I think if another round robin is started in October, I might be interested in joining. The holidays are always real slow for us and I have a lot of time to quilt.
|
Ok Ladies, I'll get permission in a couple weeks to start a new Round Robin in October. If you are tentatively interested in joining, can you send me a private message so I can be sure to reach out with the thread link if it works at that time? This message to me is not committing you to join, it is just so we aren't taking over this thread. :)

Hi all, I posted this before, but not on this thread. I have to repair one edge and add a border tonight. This will go out tomorrow as well. 🏡
Hugs all! |
