antiquegirl just send a PM really quick, I'm sure you'll make it.
QuiltyLouise I have made that bag, I just made it with the strips though out of batiks. Not hard to make. It did sew on velcro at the tope inside for closing it up. Didn't have any magnetic snaps. But it is very nice, think you'll like it. |
Quilty-Louise that looks like a pretty bag to make and I love the colors displayed in the pic. May have to pick up that mag. also!
|
Reading the (de)tructions (I am good at detructing stuff when not
following a patterns instructions properly due to misreading). I think that I am going to add LOTS of pockets inside and make the straps longer. As for a snap closure I have about 10+ of them laying around so I have no worries there. Yep I can see that bag in a nice range of yellows & purples. What do you think? Now to just get it DONE and not talked about. |
Quilty-Louise I'm with you! I love that bag, it's super cute. Guess I'll have to go and buy that mag. also. Make sure to post a pic when you get it finished! Can't wait to get my Feb. name!

Can't wait to get my name...I don't always send homemade stuff but I always send a package I would love to receive...don't we all? I think I have been a "swapper" for about 2 years now so I guess I am not considered a "newbie"..I am sort of hoping for a newbie so I can send some of the tools I have collected (especially the ones I have bought over and over again!) I simply love the anticipation of my SP receiving the package I send and I can't wait to see what comes to me...it is all fun. I am already packing up some stuff and will add what I can on my SP's "want" list.
I wish all of you were coming for dinner tonight. It is snowing here but not enough to mess up the streets and it is COLD so I am making a pot roast..it is definitely comfort food night tonight. I have a fire in the fireplace and my house smells like my grandmother is cooking in the kitchen. |
I confess, I am a newbie, but LOVE to swap stuff. Already have a few things in the box to go to my secret pal. Totes are my downfall. Everytime there is one on the cover of ANY magazine I buy it. It has been a while since I made a tote though. 19 years to be exact! I made two. They were both bags for my DS. One was an everyday bag to take to daycare and the other was more dressy for church.
Pot roast is my favorite comfort food. The weather is so screwy around here. Tonadoes the last two days and tonight it is starting to snow. Tennessee weather!! Stay warm. |
UPDATE: We saw the specialist who had the results of the scans and all the tests. I have to say God is so good. The hearing test resulted in some surprising results and results very different from Tuesday the 19th. Adam has better hearing in his left ear than his right and it is perfect hearing. Then the specialist showed us the scan and said he is speechless. The "tumor" is not a tumor, it is an abnormality in the bones behind his ear. I started to cry with relief. He said he would like to complete another scan in 6 weeks, but he is sure. They want to keep him on the Topomax since he has not had a headache since starting the medication. In addition, he needs to see the Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor to deal with the balance issue. I AM ONE HAPPY MOMMA. Thank you everyone for your prayers and lifting my family up. I cannot tell you the joy I am experiencing.

hav4boys - I'm so happy for you! I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since I saw your post. So very pleased for you all.

Yeah, Knitette, I agree with MsCupid - where did you get that pattern and can we have a copy?
|
Guess I should have said, is the pattern copyrighted or can we have a copy?
|
Good morning all. Its not a normal warm day today in SWFL. Woke up to 43 degrees. Now I understand that there are many who are suffering worse cold weather than I am but this isn't normal for us here so its a bit chilly for us. Hav4boy I'm so glad to hear that the outcome was great on your son! Knitette, pray tell, where did you get that pattern? Those look so cute to make! Everyone have a great day, TGIF!!!

The pattern is 'Bridget's Bagettes' - there's three sizes. I made a tartan one for some lucky (?) SP this morning.
|
I was hoping the pattern was free, but they are still cute as heck!
|
I agree that IS a cute zipper bag. Although I have not yet taken
on the "task" of trying to sew a zipper into anything...... YET is the operative word there. Surely it can't be any harder (or maybe it can who am I to speak) then making button holes and sewing on buttons all with the machine. So excited (or anxious?) waiting to get my name LOL. |

Quilty-Louise went to Walmart and bought QM mag, now I just need to get motivated to make it. LOL!
Knitette I'm sure going to try and find that pattern, its very cute and could sure use it for lots of different things. Can't wait to get my name!! |
Well I have some errands to run today, so while I am out thinking
about hitting the WalMart that still has bolt fabric and getting some "fleece/felt type batting (which is what I use in Wall hangings. I use the "good" batting for quilts to cozy up under. While I am out going to see if Joann's is still running their "ironing board" fabric for $1 off regular price, if they are I will pass on buying any if not then I need to buy up SEVERAL yards because I am planning to "resurface" ALL of my ironing board this year (just don't ask "when" I will do that). But I can hardly wait for my name so that I can buy their goodies. Caio everyone until later. |
Please let's not start this again "people we don't know" and labeling them as deadbeats until they prove themselves as such. I experienced this on another swap recently being labeled as perhaps a deadbeat because a gal did not recognize me as being an avid swapper when I still had 19 days to send in my swap.
I guess since 2 months in a row I've not gotten a package from my swap partner, it makes me wonder sometimes. I had to have an angel in Dec. and I am sure Lori has assigned one for Jan. Still waiting on Jan. package. I'm sure people wonder about me sometimes, but I have never failed to send my pal a package. I could have left that last sentence off my statement. I sure don't wont to offend new swappers. We were all new at one time. |
I have done some shopping, got a few things for my partner.

Hav4boys, I'm so sorry to hear about your son. I hope a good solution is found. Prayers going up for him.
Fayzer, the community/groups was supposed to replace the old matrix that hostesses kept track on. I mistakenly thought that we could have group discussions there and upload pix since those were options, but was recently told that's not the place for it. Ooops! TooManyUFOs, I'm so glad that all is well with your daughter. Tracy, that tornado looked scary. We had high winds at the apartment complex and it wasn't scary until I looked out the window in the morning and saw that huge chunks of the slate roof had crashed to the pavement below. I decided to stay home that day. Tricia, prayers for you and your husband. I hope all turns out well. More prayers going up! AntiqueGirl68 PM Lori. It might not be too late. Nice bag, Louise! |
I have a special surprise for someone who is NOT my SP
(at least not that I know of yet). I will NOT give any names YET, but they will know who they are once they get the mail next week (latter part of the week). They live East of Colorado but how far East I won't say I will tell you who it ISN'T (looks at Teresa mscupid), as she is already getting mail next week from me (an quilt I designed for pattern). So everyone if you KNOW that I have your address be on the look out for a little surprise from me. I just hope you like it. |
When are we suppose to get the name of our SP's?

Oh Hav4boys I am so happy for you!!
Knitette, love those little bags! |
Hi All -
I just felt the need to tell you what an amazing group of ladies you are. I haven't known you long, but I feel right at home. I realize that I need to actually SAY it, not just think it. This epiphany was brought about, unfortunately, by the loss of one of my quilt guild members. She was with us all weekend at retreat, and by Tuesday, she was gone :( We were all sitting in the funeral home tonight, and we all made a point to tell each other that. I hadn't seen many of her quilts since I am relatively new (3 1/2 yes) to the guild, so it was nice to see them - the family had put up quilt stands with about 10 or so of her quilts, and her exploding star quilt was on the casket, under the flowers. That idea is going in my list of thing for hopefully far in the future. But I just felt the need to say thanks for being so welcoming to me when I was new, and that I am really enjoying talking to all of you here on the board! |
