Pat your flowers are beautiful!

Deb watkins 04-26-2011 11:21 AM

Pleae make sure you PM me if you want to join, sometimes I don't get to the computer right away. I don't want anyone to think that I am ignoring them! And if Spring is to busy for you, think about the Fall flowers with the same pattern, only fall colors!

Deb watkins 04-28-2011 08:46 AM

I love this block. Quick question, did you enlarge the template at all before you cut out the pattern for it?

Thank-you.

I finally got my white believe it or not that's color I don't have much of it all has black or another color with it. I'm an off-white kinda girl.

No, I printed out the template directly from Quilterscache.com. What I did do, though, was to trace the petals on to a plastic file folder, that ensures that my petals will all be the same size.

White, creams, pale yellows.....all good.

materialgrl 04-29-2011 04:51 AM

I may have asked you ,but do they need to be a solid color or can i make different colored petals in the same block?

ljptexas 04-29-2011 04:52 AM

Do we have to put in leaves? I'm doing a PP plate.
All 12 should be same # of blades, right?

thanks...

Yes, I believe it is 16 blades. PP is fine, could you applique' a couple of leaves on though to make it resemble the flowers? Welcome to the swap!!

The background is white, cream or pale yellow whatever you prefer, the blades can be any color combination you want, I would expect at least two different colors or two hues of same color, or as many colors as you want!

Okay, this is what I have and am thinking about using. Is this okay?

Karen 04-29-2011 01:42 PM

OHHHHH..pretty fabric.

moonrise 04-29-2011 05:21 PM

Very pretty!

Mine are ready to mail (if you're ready), but I probably better wait a few days. A tornado wiped out my town two nights ago, and although the post office is delivering mail where they can, everything's a mess. I posted pics and a couple of videos in the personal diaries section. It's just been unreal. My family is safe. No major damage for any of us. Many weren't so lucky though. :(

Karen 04-29-2011 07:26 PM

Oh moonrise...am glad to know that you are ok. I have watched the videos, is there anything that I can do to help?

Thank you for offering. My family and I personally don't need anything at all, but one of the local news stations has a page set up for those who would like to help. Here's the link:

Karen 04-29-2011 08:22 PM

Thank you moonrise.

Deb watkins 05-02-2011 04:21 AM

Oh moonrise - so sorry to hear about this.....seems severe weather is hitting all of us at one time or another.

Very, very nice....will make a beautiful 'flower'. Definitely spring!!!

QuilterMomma 05-02-2011 08:17 AM

I am still on the looking side of things. I have a graduation this month so not sure of time. Will keep this in mind. I will be a late mailer if I do joing. i love the dresden plate. Made one from a set of antique blocks I received and added some contemporary. was an old/new quilt. Was wonderful to quilt on longarm.

pattis47 05-02-2011 02:42 PM

almost finished with the blocks.....should be in the mail in a few days

Gee, the early mailer again!!!! I know, now you want to get started on the fall set...gee Patti, give your machine a rest!!!

pattis47 05-03-2011 04:43 PM

It's not that Deb, I had to give my poor fingers a rest. I have been working on my hand appliqued blocks for the Affairs of the Heart group and my fingers were sore. Had to go back to the machine and give them time to heal.....
P.S. The fall ones are already cut out.....you know me....over achiever that I am.

And I have picked out the holiday fabric I will use to do the blocks for the holiday. Since you did spring and fall I decided to add holiday/winter to give me 40 blocks for a big quilt

tolepainter54 05-06-2011 02:18 PM

I have all my petals done, now to iron and put together. Hopefully I will get most of it done this weekend!! I will try and post a picture of a block.

pattis47 05-08-2011 05:55 AM

I love it. Mine is a darker pink and darker blue. It looks real pretty together I didn't use pastels hope that's ok.

tolepainter54 05-08-2011 05:09 PM

I don't think the color matters! I am excited to see what everyone comes up with. I shopped for my fabric out of my stash.

tapngram 05-08-2011 05:41 PM

Very nice block Tolepainter.

pattis47 05-08-2011 05:42 PM

I used my stash as well.....16 different patterns and colors ---> one for each blade.

Deb watkins 05-08-2011 06:00 PM

Nice block!!! I am going to love to see all of the different 'flowers' that come in!

I am glad you did yours that way I am trying to use out of my stash to.I plan on using 8 different colors,I was worried I would be the only one doing mixed.

Deb watkins 05-09-2011 06:50 AM

This is a good way to use up those scraps from your stash. since the blades are small, you can get a nice mix.
