Anoka Quilter, Owlie, I got the pattern for the Skeleton out of American Patchwork and Quilting October 2012. But, if you google skeleton coloring pages, you could probably come up with something similar for free. The block is 12 1/2 x 15 1/2".

The Witch, I got off of google Halloween images/coloring pages. (I just freehanded that one.) It might of been 2 images that I combined. I can't remember. I don't have a printer.

And Frankenstien is NOT my original design. I got the image off of Pinterest. I also freehand drew that one.

RedGarnet222 10-02-2014 11:45 AM

These look great with your additions Judith! You are good at this.

I am finishing up a medallion charity quilt top for next july and then I will start on mine. I have three years worth, so I should have enough for a big one. I think I will also donate it to the silent auction. We will see how it turns out. I hope it looks half as nice as yours does.

Oh .... I sent your pattern by the postman today ladysaint. I hurt my knee and I couldn't get out yesterday. Sorry. But, it is on the way now! Thanks for the embroidery blocks.

ladysaint 10-02-2014 06:46 PM

wonderful Red. you are welcome! Looking forward to working with it and creating my own little Frankie guy.

RedGarnet222 10-03-2014 08:45 AM

I posted a picture of my round robin in the pictures section ladysaint just in case you wanted to see my progress so far.

Just stopping in to say this looks like the best swap I have seen! I have never done a swap before, but I will be anxious to sign up for this next time around! Please post your completed quilts-the blocks are all so well done!

wanda lou 10-04-2014 08:59 PM

join us next year, Jillmc.

owlvamp 10-05-2014 04:56 PM

Just wanted to say we still haven't received our blocks. I was asked to keep all updated.

owlvamp 10-07-2014 07:27 PM

As of today my daughter and I still haven't received our blocks yet.

Thank you for the blocks a couple ladies sent to me.. Thank you so much!!

Judith1005 10-08-2014 03:26 PM

Owlie, is there anyway, that maybe you put your old address on the envelope? Maybe you could call over or stop over and see if your package is there.

I am still working on a couple of new ones for you and also have those patterns you requested. I will get them off when I have it all ready to mail.

I received my last block to add. Now, to just finish up my skeleton and I can put my top completely together.

Is anybody else working on there Halloween tops?

owlvamp 10-08-2014 03:50 PM

I already went over there to the old place and nothing.. But nope I put my new address on the envelope. I am positive... They will get here when they do I guess... In the mean time I have a thousand things to get done.....

RedGarnet222 10-08-2014 04:43 PM

I can't believe it, really? I am flabbergasted they are taking so long. But, I have had this happen to me before too a couple times. So, I am still hopeful for you and your daughter, owlvamp.

I will put a couple blocks in your winter swap block package for you girls too. I am so sorry this is happening to you. You do so much for charity, it seems exceptionally unfair.

Muse&Sew 10-08-2014 08:05 PM

On Red's behalf, Owlvamp, I'm going to send you the extra set Red sent me by mistake. Red was so sweet when I sent her an email telling her I really got a lot of extra treats this year! Red just told me to keep them even though she shorted herself. She's such a sweetie & she's been such a wonderful hostess. I have my quilt top all ready to assemble & with a couple extra blocks I'd made, I actually don't need the extra set, so I'll send you 6 blocks that really are from Red. I do have your address, so give me a couple of days to get my act together to mail them to you. So soon six blocks will be winding their way to your house. :)
Hope your Halloween will be a happy one! Maybe I'm getting into the holiday spirit a little early. It's over the river & through the woods to owlvamps house we go.! :)

RedGarnet222 10-09-2014 08:40 AM

Oh dear Muse&Sew! This made me cry. What a special person you are. Thank you.

donna873 10-16-2014 05:18 AM

I love that embroidery design, can you share it

Judith1005 10-16-2014 10:10 AM

donna873, Which embroidery design are you asking about?

dfelker 10-16-2014 12:45 PM

Ha anyone finished their projects with the halloween blocks swap blocks?

Anoka Quilter 10-16-2014 02:26 PM

I was wondering the same thing. I know I have to make up a couple blocks to fill some spaces. Just need to finish a couple other things first.

owlvamp 10-16-2014 02:48 PM

Haven't received mine yet but have some on the way and received a few from the other ladies... so as soon as I get them all then will see what I come up with...:)

Luv2sew2011, Love what you've done with your blocks! Looks great! I see my cute witch on the top. I've had other projects I've needed to finish, but will get back on this one soon, but probably not in time for Halloween this year.

RedGarnet222 10-16-2014 04:50 PM

OMG lv2sew! How cute is that??? I love the way you have it set.

Lv2sew2011 10-16-2014 05:19 PM

Thank you! Between Moving and have back surgery I don't think its going to be done in time either. Went to the Laser Spine Institute for my surgery and I can't believe the relief I've gotten from in. So any one thinking of having back surgery check into them first you will be surprise on the surgery and the bedside manner of this group of people. I feel right now 79% better and hoping in 6 weeks even better than that....I forgot to mention that I just had the surgery Monday and I'm already up and around without the pain. But I do have a little soreness from the surgery.

Judith1005 10-16-2014 05:47 PM

Luv2sew2011, I love what your doing with your blocks. Super fun!

Dragonfly Nana 10-17-2014 03:53 AM

So glad to hear that you found some relief Luv2sew. Prayers for continued healing.

works4me 10-17-2014 09:05 AM

That looks amazing Lv2sew2011. I really like how the black makes all the different blocks stand up and be noticed.

Glad you have found relief for your back. Mine is "out" right now so I will move vicariously through you for the moment. :)

My blocks are waiting patiently for me. No way the quilt will be done this year. I still have to figure out how to get my garden display done. Slowly, I think.

Anoka Quilter 10-17-2014 11:51 AM

Very nice Lv2sew2011. I have other projects I have to get done before the holidays so they are my priority right now. I am working on one of those Bionic Gear Bags for my MIL, whoes, birthday is Monday, so that is my focus. Then I need to get my WH done for another swap. Then I have SS and the Nov SP...and the list goes on and on.

I was only able to get two sets done, so I am thinking I am going to tuck the blocks away and wait till the swap next year and maybe combine a couple years. I am going to begin making halloween and holiday blocks right after the holidays. That way I will be all set when the time comes with the max number of sets to swap.

letsquilt 10-18-2014 05:34 AM

Lv2sew,your quilt is turning out so pretty! I'm still making a few blocks for mine probley will not get it finished in time this year. I see the block I made in yours 50%witch

letsquilt 10-18-2014 05:37 AM

Owl amp, I have not forgotten you, We have had 2 emergencies in our family one almost loosing my father a week ago but he's better now,we had to put him in nursing home so he can get 24 hour care,He's 81 and he just can't live alone anymore. Good news is he seems to like the nursing home,he likes to be around people.

owlvamp 10-18-2014 08:09 PM

I like the 50% witch block.
letsquilt I am so sorry to hear that. I hope he does good in the nursing home. Hopefully he will enjoy of being able to talk to someone everyday... I also know nursing homes can be scary just keep visiting him and make sure all is well.

letsquilt 10-18-2014 09:20 PM

Owl vamp my little sister lives up there and she goes by everyday. She also knows several of the nurses there so she will make sure he's doing good.

RedGarnet222 10-19-2014 08:55 AM

Letsquilt,
I am so very sorry that your dad is having to go into a home. My sister and I took care of both my mom and my dad when they were too old to stay on their own and in the end in their separate homes. They passed on two years apart.

It was very hard and sweet at the same time. I don't know if that makes any sense. It was just such a privilege to give back a little and that took the bite out of the circumstance, not out of the loss.

I found that the little things I did to spoil them while they were needy was the most precious to me now.

That is awesome. That has to be such a relief to you all... Glad you found a wonderful nursing home..

RedGarnet222 10-21-2014 09:36 AM

Anyone else making a top or project yet? I was thinking of playing with mine today.

dfelker 10-22-2014 08:37 AM

I may make my remaining Halloween blocks into a table runner. Maybe I will start on that once I have my Christmas Ornaments made for that Swap. I have so many ideas for the ornaments, not nearly the amount of time I 'd like to get 'er done!

RedGarnet222 10-22-2014 04:05 PM

I finished my ornament up yesterday and bought a couple little things for her daughters today. I will wait until much later to send off though. It just doesn't seem like Christmas things are a part of Halloween! LOL!
