I do agree with fussy cutting them. I wouldn't want a back end of nothing. But there are people out there that doesn't mind. I can tighten the rope on this and start sending some of there blocks back if enough complain about it. I however in the rules state to fussy cut. But I think where the problem lies is that when the blocks are cut the fabric is in half and just because one side comes out right the other does not. Something is always cut off. So picking fabric with the right size print is the key. When I sort all the blocks I count and recount and make sure everyone doesn't get their blocks back. I however don't always examine each block. I can only hope each one of you send in the blocks correct. I do count to make sure I have the right amount from each of you.
So Please fussy cut your blocks. Send in what you would want to get back. Yes I've seen a lot of floral coming through in the last swap. Was going to say something but figured would wait for the next swap. There is so many wonderful fabrics out there we just need to explore and get them. I want the swap to be fun for everyone so I try not to be to hard.

What type of squares for the disasters?

Oh boy I nearly missed this! I'm in for six sets. I'll check with my daughter too I'm sure she'll want to join.

Thanks for the extra input Owlvamp. I agree, choosing fun and appropriate scaled prints is important. I'm not a huge fan of the adult looking floral stuff, but I understand people might have different tastes and thoughts on what ”I spy” means.

Here is the description from the rules.

"The novelty design should be good size, not tiny...it needs to be easily recognizable from a distance. Try to have the character centered on the charm as much as possible. "

Just got mine in the mail. Didn't realize how close to the first of July it's getting - June just flew by! The priority envelopes seem kinda flimsy, so I used the smallest priority box. Almost the same cost and the boxes are so much sturdier, I don't know why it hasn't occurred to me to use them before.

Hit the jackpot this weekend with garage sales...........Saturday I found a perfect piece of fabric for I spy squares........then on Sunday I saw on Craigs list the word fabric.....went to check it out....hit one sale found a piece of fabric perfect for fussy cutting........and large enough for a perfect backing.......then I hit the mother load.........the lady was the one that put the posting on Craigs list.........she didn't even have the opportunity to put the fabric out so I think I was the first.....she took me down to the cellar where her fabric was so nicely folded on shelves.......everything could go at a dollar a yard except for the 30's and 40's printed fabric...........well lets say when all said and done I only paid 64 cents a yard..spending $29.00.....47 yards..........about a half of the fabric perfect for I spy squares.......flamingo's anyone :D...........all quality quilt shop fabric going back a few years.............so less likely to have others sending the same I spy squares.............perfect I would say....................................:thumbup:

I mailed my 6 sets, 6 twists today. Will post picture later, but I sent Ipods/smartphones, swimming kids, constellations, birds singing on a telephone wire, earth/lightbulbs, and laundry on the line :) I've got fabric enough for one more swap before I have to start buying again.

I would like to do another swap but figured I would wait a month to start another one with everyone being busy through summer. Plus give people a chance to get new fabric if they wanted. I need to get new kid fabric. I really don't have any more for the swap. So I should be ready buy some at that time. I figure do the next one early September.

Yikes that's two months away............

I sent my six sets in today. They are bicycles, pineapple, foxes, ice cream sundaes, airplanes and sneakers. My LQS had most of them on sale for $4 a yd. Most are Moda, Timeless Treasures and Alexander Henry so they are good quality fabrics.
