I Spy Swap with a Twist Dead Line to Join is Jan. 6, 2014

I Spy Swap with a Twist Dead Line to Join is Jan. 6, 2014

Please cut your charms before joining.

Charms need to be in my hands by Jan. 13, 2014
Will start swapping on Jan. 14, 2014

If you would like to be part of the I Spy Charm Swap, here are the guidelines. Please read carefully:

1. Please pm me telling me that you want to enter the swap. In the pm please tell me how many sets you want to do,name and address along with board name. I will then send you a pm giving you my mailing address.

2. We will be swapping sets of 20 charm squares, each 5 inch square. You may send more than one set of 20 charms, up to 6 sets. Each set that you send to me CAN be cut from the same fabric (or 20 different fabrics) . You should be able to cut 20 five inch squares from around 1/2 yard of fabric depending on the design spacing. If you send more than one set, please use a different fabric for each set. I will divide up the charms randomly and return back to you 20 different charms per set. At least that is the goal, and I will try hard to do that! (If you send several sets, please realize that you might get duplicate charms in return.) If you do the twist no fabric from your originals are to be in there.

3. Please send 100 percent cotton only. Prewash or not prewash is exceptable . Squares should be carefully rotary cut from 100% cotton fabric. Keep in mind that your squares could end up in a child's quilt. Select fabrics that will hold up to a lot of love, wear, tears, draggin', cuddlin', washing, and trips through the dryer. Fabrics that fray easily, or are fairly easy to see through are not good candidates for this swap.

Please be advised that fabrics that are not square, squares too wonky or too off grain, squares that are shedding, squares that contain selvages, or those that are not 5" square will be returned unswapped. Be accurate in cutting the 5 inch squares. The novelty design should be good size, not tiny...it needs to be easily recognizable from a distance.Try to have the character centered on the charm as much as possible.

Be creative in your shopping...it would be great to not have too many sending me the same fabrics! In doing this I've only had a couple doubles. If you want you could post pictures of fabric it helps others in what they will send. Not a must though. Please no flowers, lines, solids, etc. These will be returned to you. We need more children fabric. Trucks, houses, food, characters , sports, camping, lets did dig deep and send in different things. License fabric is welcome. Children's fabrics please!!

4. Place each set of 20 charms in a zip lock sandwich size baggie. INCLUDE your name, address, and QB name on a piece of paper and put it inside baggies. Please buy postage or concealed cash put in your envelopes. You just need to give me the correct postage. If postage is not included I will have to wait to send your charms back until you send the correct postage. I will provide flat rate envelopes they cost $5.95 now. Postage went up.
****Outside the US needs to add more postage for it will cost more. I'm sure when you send it you will know what to send. Please send correct amount for I will not ship until correct amount is received.****

5. The last day for me to receive the charms is Jan. 13, 2014. I will post when I receive your charms. If you are sending them from outside the US, please keep this in mind as it sometimes takes weeks for packages to arrive. I will divide up the charms During the week and send out by Jan. 20, 2014. Anything received after that will be returned to you.

Now for a twist on the swap:
You can additionally send in 6 baggies of 10 doubles in each = 20 charms in each bag. So basically 10 doubles=20 with your name and board name in each Baggie written on there saying this is for the Twist. I will swap Baggie for Baggie. So those of you wanting to do a I Spy match quilt this is for you. Now you have to at least do 2 baggies in the regular swap to be able to do the twist.(( The fabric MUST be different from the original sets)).

Remember to send in what you would like to receive back.
Let’s have tons of fun,and of course you have to follow all the basic rules, found here.

UPDATE: Since we don't have very many people signed up, I am extending the deadline for the swap. I'm thinking that maybe the holidays have made it a little hard for everyone to get ready so quickly.

The new dates are as follows: Sign up deadline - Jan. 13, 2014; In my hands by Jan. 20, 2014 and Mailed back by Jan. 27, 2014.

rbwiese 01-02-2014 05:01 PM

Is there any way to change the title to Deadline to Join Jan 13?

Annaquilts 01-06-2014 03:45 PM

Could this swap have a sticky? It is hard to find.

charlotte37830 01-06-2014 05:56 PM

Sorry, I don't know how to make it have a sticky. If anyone can tell me how, I will do it. Otherwise, if you bookmark it you would be able to find it easier.

Library.Lil, I received your package today. Thanks

I need a lesson in QB for Dummies. I just spent 15 min trying to figure out how to leave a message - and I hadn't logged in!!

May I increase my ante to 6 sets? I should have mine in the mail on Thurs.

Thanks - Rena - where tomorrow it may get above freezing! Too cold for here in the south! Water mains froze today across town. Don't know what they do up north to keep them from freezing every winter.

charlotte37830 01-07-2014 06:44 PM

I have you updated to 6 sets. Try to stay warm. Still only 15* now and will only be 11* when DD goes to school in the morning.

charlotte37830 01-08-2014 09:49 PM

Ok, just let me know. I hope you can join. Enjoy your little man.

rbwiese 01-10-2014 08:12 AM

There are so many cute fabrics out there - I may have enough now for the next 600 swaps!!

Rena

givio 01-10-2014 08:18 AM

rbwiese, cool! hope to keep swapping with you in future swaps then! :-)

frizzymama13 01-12-2014 12:35 PM

I think I'll be sitting this one out. ; ) I'm actually hosting a swap right now on my blog. But hopefully I'll be swapping here again soon!

rbwiese 01-12-2014 02:39 PM

Before I mail these off - I want to make sure I understand one thing. My group of 20 may contain like 10 of one fabric and 10 of another? or 7 of 3? etc?
If this is ok, they will be in tomorrow's mail - might anyway, if I have to cut some more.

Thanks - hope I am not asking too many questions - but want to make sure before I send something that isn't what is wanted.

I have had my kids here again this weekend - had breakfast at Cracker Barrel this am with all and families - was a nice birthday breakfast. Mine is Wed and my daughter's is the 21st. And our son who is living in Bogota CO right now is here and his is in Mar - so we just had birthday's to last us a while. And best part of breakfast - I didn'thave to cook or clean up!

Rena

rbwiese 01-12-2014 03:26 PM

Enjoy him - first birthday's are so much fun. And amazing to see all of the changes the first year brings.

charlotte37830 01-12-2014 05:22 PM

Yes your set of 20 does not have to be the same, each set has to have different fabrics than the others. So for one set you can put 10 of one fabric, 7 of another and 3 of another, but those three fabrics can't be used in any of the other sets. Does that make since? I hope I'm not making things harder than they need to be. And no you're not asking too many questions. Ask anything that you need to know or that isn't clear.

Birthdays are fun when shared with others. My son and I celebrated our birthdays (his was Friday and mine was Saturday) together with DH, our son's girlfriend, our daughter and her boyfriend at a Japanese Steakhouse (my favorite, but our son's choice) on Friday and then we all played Mexican Train on Saturday and had snacks. It was so much fun.
