Just do not outthink yourself then you get in a quandry of what to do. Been there done that. Let it be fun and a joy to do.

not to worry:) Just have a few options for my state and will enjoy. Just need to get back into sewing again. So looking forward to it.

Quilty-Louise 12-21-2011 08:02 AM

I am in again!!!!

Colorado will be my state.

Chele 12-21-2011 08:26 AM

Quilty-Louise, hopefully someone will come in the swap and swap with you. Anyone want to do two quilts?

QuilterMomma 12-21-2011 10:04 AM

If ya need, I can do two. Since I have WA and MT to do, could make one for each. Let me know if need, PM me.

Chele 12-21-2011 10:16 AM

Yay! Thanks for making two QuilterMomma. I hate to turn anyone away. Let the fun begin!

QuilterMomma 12-21-2011 10:23 AM

Ok! Will do. I am going to have my work cut out for me - literally. I do have the patterns in my head thought out and I do have the fabrics in my batik stash - the fabric I like best for applique - and now I may have to get some fusible because I am out because I used it all on the wilderness swap. Nice thing about these two states, is that they are majestic if you look to the north of me and do not go all the way west in WA, then you hit the city. Can you tell what my quilts will be showing? Montana is the Big Sky State. I live in the east half of WA and out my office window I see the hillside and if I look to the NE I see Mica's peak. The eagles are flying and nesting right now not far from me. Glad I can think up some good stuff here. Hope both my partners like these ideas of these states.

hobbykat1955 12-22-2011 05:15 AM

I too could do two if someone else comes in because I have two states I live in NY and RI...So just PM me if you need me

goldsberry921 12-23-2011 06:02 PM

This is surely going to be lots of fun and interesting. I know everyone's creative juices are in turbo mode!!!

TammyB 12-24-2011 12:13 PM

Dotty does it again! Winter in New York is her latest selvage creation. I love the snow banks.

I hope everyone is having fun creating their January quilts. I've yet to start mine with the busy holidays. Eek!

hobbykat1955 12-29-2011 12:10 PM

As of today both my DQ's tops for each of my states NY and RI is done...Now it's onto sandwich/quilting and mailing out in Jan to my two partners.

Judith1005 12-29-2011 12:12 PM

I absolutely lovvve Dottie's newest creation. I also love your new avatar Chele. I have not started my DQ yet. But I'm back home now and all my fabric has arrived and I will be starting it really soon. I'm going to be trying two fairly new techniques to me and am looking forward to it. I have enjoyed my first attempts of both techniques so I'm sure it will go fine. I'm just leaving myself room to adjust just in case. Hope everyone had a great Holiday.

Great job on that one. Makes me want to see NY.

QuiltingKrazy 12-29-2011 01:43 PM

I finally got my design in my head for my DQ. Now I just have to figure out how to get it out of my pea brain
and into motion! Hope to start this weekend since I have four days off!
Happy New Year Y'all!

Chele 12-29-2011 01:49 PM

Judith1005 12-29-2011 02:41 PM

interested.

Judith1005 12-29-2011 07:53 PM

Thank you. I will have to go check it out. Looks like fun.

rwquilts 12-30-2011 07:13 AM

Thank you Louise! I found many things quite interesting that I might want to incorporate into my DQ!

Quilty-Louise 12-30-2011 02:25 PM

I soooo have the "elements" of my dq picked out, now to just
figure out how I want to do the layout of everything.

nancia 12-31-2011 03:14 AM

i'm afraid i'm going to sit this one out. i'm having a much harder time dealing with my mom's passing than i anticipated, and the sadness just doesn't leave me energy or oomph to do things. hopefully it will ease by next month and i can get back in the swing. i will peek in now and then because i know there will be beautiful dq's to see.

cherrybsixty 12-31-2011 06:21 AM

Happy New Year's Chele and everyone in the DQ swap and may it be a blessed one for you all. Thank you Louise for the tip on the website, hopefully it will share some more insite. I have PM my partner (Sewbeatit) and I am looking forward to hearing from her and wishing her the best of a New Year. Cherryb

goldsberry921 12-31-2011 06:28 AM

I've completed mine for my partner as of last week. I've got to go get something to mail it off in this coming week.
I also want to take the time to wish everyone a blessed New Year and hope if you are out and about, that you be safe.

A Little Chuckle - Anyone Need a Doll???

5 Attachment(s)
Happy New Year to Everyone - and thank you, Chele for another year of fun!

Just in case anyone needs an actual doll for their doll quilt ... here's something scary.

My son and his fiance were thinking of things to sell on Etsy. I suggested softies for Valentine's Day since their skill level isn't too high yet and with softies, often the more misshapen the better. To prove the point I whipped this one up yesterday afternoon. Her hair is made from shreds from my serger and her details are embroidered and embellished with funky buttons and lace.

oksewglad 12-31-2011 05:37 PM

Crazy Quiltin Robin--be forewarned--an idea has formed and is on the drawing board. Really think you will like it!

Judith1005 12-31-2011 06:23 PM

um Krystyna, I think that she has some really cute, fun elements. But, she kinda of scares me. But, ya know what....there are a lot of people who are going to fall in love with it. (especially Nightmare before Christmas fans!) I bet it's a big hit and they sell a lot.

Different preferences selected for how many posts you want on a page. For example, I think I chose 25 per page. That can affect which page the information will show up for you. Look in the top right corner of each post and there is a number. You need post #87. Hope this helps. :D
