January 2019 to March 2019 Table Runner Swap

Hi Guys,

Welcome to our ongoing Table Runner Swap! This swap will run from 1[SUP]st[/SUP] January 2019 to the 31[SUP]st [/SUP]March 2019.

You have until the 31[SUP]st[/SUP]March 2019 to make a table runner - the theme this time is... Stars or Stripes!!!!!!. This would mean that you can use either stars OR stripes and all variations on these in your runners.

Size of Table Runner

The table runner should be a minimum of 12” x 30”.
You can use any technique/ any style.
All fabrics used should be 100% cotton.
The runner must have wadding and be quilted.

Sign Up list

There is no deadline so you can sign up at any time during the 3 months as this will be just an intention to participate. When you have made and are ready to mail your runner you can then sign up to the “ready to mail” list which is binding commitment.

But please remember that the only list that counts is the Ready to Mail list posted at the end of March 2019.

Ready to Mail list

An initial Ready to Mail list will be posted around the 24th March 2019.If you are not on this list you will not get an address to send to unless you contact me and get on the final listing.

Midnight on the 31st March 2019 – is the deadline to get on the “Ready to Mail” list. If you want to take part, I will need the following:-

Real name
Your address
Whether you are willing to send international or not (Please consider this as it enables everybody to take part)
Allergy info
Pet and smoking information
Email address

As long as you have a table runner ready to mail you can join us by letting me know any time before the deadline.

Addresses Sent Out:

I will send out the name and address of the person you should send to on the 2nd or 3rd April 2019. You will have 7 days to get your table runner in the mail - No Longer. If you are unable to keep this commitment - please do not sign up.

You will send your table runner to the quilter who's address you get. You will receive from a different quilter than the one you send to.

This is not a partner swap.

Please remember that there are quilters of all abilities on this board and you should appreciate the table runner you receive as your sender will have worked hard to make it for you.

You are welcome to send some goodies in your package if you would care to, but please don't expect anything other than the table runner.

Please Note.... You must let me know when you mail and when you receive. Also, please PM the person that sends to you when you receive to say thank you and to let them know that the table runner that they have sent you has arrived - it is only polite to do so!

So come and join our fun.

Hugs

Caroline

Have no fear, jump in and swim! there is no judging here, like what Mary says. Take a deep breath, relax and enjoy the doing.

Teen, I know how difficult moving can be. Hope you can join us BUT, no pressure!

Teen 01-27-2019 09:06 AM

Thanks for the moving good wishes!! I'll be watching your creativity shine!

This is a fun swap! No quilt police! I haven’t decided what I’m making yet, so I better get looking! Have you checked out Caroline’s first page with size minimum etc? Our theme this time is “stars or stripes”. Hmmm my biggest dilemma is looking at ideas & choosing just one!

lawsonmugs 01-28-2019 04:51 PM

Boop56 of course you can join us. Anyone can. The more the merrier. You don't have to sign up for anything until your runner is ready to mail. Then pm caroline that your ready to mail. In between just stop by here and visit with all of us.

Boop56 01-28-2019 04:55 PM

I have fabric and idea already picked out. Excited. Hope I can pull it off.

lawsonmugs 01-28-2019 05:04 PM

You can do it. It's just for fun and learning . We all started somewhere. It's amazing all the different runners made every swap. You can show a little sneak peek if you want. Most try not to show the whole runner,so it is a surprise for your partner. Sometimes i have forgotten and showed more than I should have. lol. Wow that almost sounds naughty. lol.

Boop56 01-30-2019 06:41 AM

I saw the size posted, but patterns I see run bigger. What are the sizes you prefer?

I like bigger as my table is very long but some people prefer a different shape all together. I think the size is a suggested minimum.

klaws 01-30-2019 11:27 AM

We have the sub-zero temps here in Ohio also but not quite as bad as some. Right now it is -4 with a windchill of -30. Y'all know what I'll be doing...staying warm and sewing. But, the temp on Monday is supposed to be 50. What the heck is going on with this crazy weather? Yesterday I told the ladies at the Hospice thrift store where I volunteer that I am going back to Florida! Only kidding. :) Now that I live only 5 minutes from my brother and about 8 minutes from my son, I wouldn't give it up for anything.

Anyone who is experiencing this brutal weather, please stay inside and stay warm. It's even harder on us older ones than it used to be. Old Arthur is not being nice to my hands today.

Boop56 01-30-2019 12:21 PM

Klaws, I am native to Ohio. Been here in Florida 15 years. But I came here to be near my daughter's because they moved to here. I was telling my husband I could not imagine living in Ohio in the cold you are experiencing. But then we lived in the middle of corn fields. So there would have been no protection from wind. I cannot even remember if growing up, we ever experienced such cold. Stay in, stay warm, stay safe!

CarolinePaj.....I sent you a private message. It will be titled mug rug though.

Northern Sue 01-30-2019 04:48 PM

oh lordy, oh lordy, it's minus 40! Seriously folks, what IS with this weather? The whole continent is going crazy! We have to be thankful that we are safe & warm in our homes.

R-sea 01-31-2019 12:52 AM

Take a trip to Perth , we are having a heat wave, I'm staying indoors with the fan on

m-fay 01-31-2019 03:03 PM

cant get over the extremes! -40 to + 40!

Boop56 02-04-2019 07:32 PM

I have to pull out of the swap. I have received text that I have cousins coming for 3 weeks. I haven't seen family in 5 years since when I went home to bury my mother. I will be watching to join in the future. Happy swapping.

m-fay 02-05-2019 04:07 AM

Mines almost finished.

lawsonmugs 02-05-2019 08:42 AM

Boop56 hope you can join in later. Enjoy your visit. Wow, Marion already. I haven't picked mine out yet.

lawsonmugs 02-05-2019 02:27 PM

Kind of quiet here. I bet everybody is fast at work on their runners. lol. Boy I need to go start it at least, pick out some fabric or a pattern something. I did finish my sons queen quilt and almost done with my grand-daughters baby quilt. She is due in april. Also made my "fun on the farm" block for this month.

Hi Boop,

Just so you know for next time - the size posted in the thread are the minimum size required... you are more than welcome to make it bigger.

You can always rejoin right up until the last minute if you find you have some time when the family go home.

Hugs

Caroline
