I just checked and it doesn't show it on cover but click on album and it is in there.
Oh I love batiks. I think I could do this. Love D4P too! Our quilts will look like fantastic stained glass mosaics!
Love the butterfly batik, it looks great!
Added a picture of my second set to my album if anyone is interested in checking it out. Let me know what you think.
Everyone's sets are really looking great. We all will have some really nice quilts with these. I'm looking forward to getting my sets to make my quilt with them. Can't wait to see end results of how everyone used their sets to make quilts or whatever. Thanks Janet for starting this.
Beautiful cherry color, love it pbadder!! My sets are done for the batiks, now will start on the Valentine's. Have lot's of FQ's but that won't work, 2 or 3 yard plus pieces, mercy I may have to go shopping.
Awe - poor Jaba. She has to go shopping....hahahaha
If you'd see my stash and bolts of fabric you'd know I don't have a problem with that! Have to go to the doctor for my sciatic nerve stuff on Friday in Billings, MT. so Bernina shop here I come. Love their fabric, but ....by the way Jane what is March, might as well get it at the same time. I really need to get some quilts on the longarm and start quilting, running out of binding to sew on at night. In this cold weather those blankies really keep my legs warm.
I was able to get my 2 sets done today and I'm impressed with myself even. ( this is a new block for me ). I may have to see if I have enough black to do another set. I"m thinking 12 blocks will not be enough for a quilt. I even ordered me a square up ruler to square them up.
Gannyrosie, you'll love that square up ruler, I have the 12 1/2" and I use it every day.
pbadder, your blocks look lovely!

Well, I don't have enough black to do another set. Maybe next time. Won't be able to get more fabric till next month. Spent my allotment this month already. So my 2 sets will be in the mail by monday. Can't wait to see all the squares, I"ll just add to them when I get some more fabric. Thank you all for your generous help in making this square. I see now where my problem is with challenging a new block. Details, Details. Looking forward to the next months swap. |

Wow Jane - 26 people! Se what happens when you say Batik! LOL
SheriR, I'm having fun sewing these too! It's a great little block, so quick and easy, yet looking so special. It's the first time I ever whipped out 100 blocks so happily. Enjoyed every minute sewing for the 30's reproduction swap and for the quilt I started from it. Very glad that Jane introduced me to the D4P! Thanks, Jane! :-)

I see that this swap is closed .... and just as I was getting the hang of making the D4P blocks! Oh well, I'll make some for myself and see what I come up with. Jane, you are so inspiring! Thanks for hosting this swap.
Just thought I'd pass on the lesson learned yesterday. . .
Don't try out cutting with a different ruler that you haven't used before when you don't have on your contacts! That orange line that I THOUGHT was the 1 inch mark turned out to really be the 1-1/4 inch line. Oops! At least I realized the goof before I sliced n diced more than one block. |
Well we move in 2 weeks, from Texas to Oklahoma, my sewing machines and most of my sewing room supplies and the fabrics for the D4P blocks will be getting moved in my car not the moving truck. So as soon as we get moved I will get my set done and get them sent in.
Good luck with your move and safe travels.

Half done with them.
label the quilt block? Or the bag of the set of blocks? |
It's better if each block is marked.
I like knowing who made them when I get them back. I just use a package of address labels and print them on my computer. Usually do several sheets at a time so I have them for later. Oh and I label the bag for each set too. |
Hi, gang. This is only my 2nd swap and with my 1st one, I remember sticking $6 in the pkg and the swap coordinator bought the USPS envelopes.
I went to the local post office. They do not carry USPS Priority Mail Padded Flat Rate 9.5x12.5 envelopes. Said I had to order online. I cannot find single ones for purchase there, only packages of 3 or 5. Do I need to try another bigger post office? Any help from the more experienced swappers is appreciated! |
Khuxford - my PO does not keep them in house either. I order them (for free!) online and they come in packs of about 10.
I print my sending label from my account on the USPS site (cost is only $5.70) but it has to ship within 24 hours. (postman will pick up with the regular mail) You have to get the return stamp at the PO for $5.95 - it has no expiration date. All this saves the hostess from having to spend hours at the PO to ship everything back to everyone who participated. |
