Honey, how can we have a mailing deadline in December, when sign ups are open until January?

sewellie 12-26-2015 06:01 PM

I'm in for one swap. PMing Jane now.

AnngelAnne 12-27-2015 07:20 AM

I like this one, lol, I'm in for one.

jclinganrey 12-27-2015 03:27 PM

Here's who we have so far:

AnngelAnne
jclinganrey
queenof2802
sewellie

Ibquiltin - the simple answer to your questions, darling, is that I copy & paste the post each month and clearly missed changing that particular part. Great catch on your part.

Obviously mailing deadline is JANUARY 10TH.

Its like this.......you get to know how it goes, lol, and just automatically put it in your mind the way it is. We see it, we either know she is having a bad day, she is testing us, or its a whoops, but you know what I mean thing. All in fun.

jclinganrey 12-29-2015 12:22 PM

Yes, AnngelAnne, I was testing to see if everyone was paying attention. LOL

Actually, it was a faux pas on my part. No harm. No foul.

It's all good - - - - -

Good morning all. I can't wait to see what other people consider their favorite color. I just sent my message off to my swap partner Have a good day all.

jclinganrey 01-05-2016 08:47 AM

I'm anxious to see too, AnngelAnne. Of course, please feel free to broadcast your favorite color here. No need for it to be a secret.

kiffie2413 01-05-2016 12:05 PM

Okay I have a question...
Are we sending our partner OUR fave color or are we sending them THEIR fave color?
Regards,
Kif

When it comes to quilting I love most every color, I just love fabric and have fun with it. Just wish working full time I could squeeze in more time for quilting. When I looked at my stash I realized that my favorite color must be green as that is the biggest stack and I came to realize that when I do look at fabric I tend to drift towards the greens first. Yup, green is mine. I also think it is interesting to see everyone's take on colors. What I think is teal might not be teal to someone that loves the color, I say, just have fun with it. Life is to serious as it is.

sewellie 01-06-2016 11:06 AM

Hi, tumrub. Have been at the hospital with hubby for the last 8 days and have not been on the
Board. My color would be gray, blue or red, actually any color would work for me. I'm so easy it's pitiful!! LOL
Now, what about your colors? or color?

queenof2802 01-06-2016 12:01 PM

I am working on a double wedding ring for my daughter and it is teal/Aqua. So right now my favorite color is teal/Aqua. Quilting wise I do tend to go for the blues though.

baronreads 01-07-2016 10:33 AM

I'm another teal, aqua, blue/green gal. I love green too! With that being said there aren't many colors I don't like, except I'm not much of a purple gal. :P<script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/829ff9ad/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script>

kiffie2413 01-07-2016 08:50 PM

queenof2802 and Bullock2us,
Your pkgs went out this afternoon. Teal blues for queen and surprise me for Bullock.
My fave colors have always been teal and aqua as well. But the last 5 years or so...as I've really gotten into fabric hoarding, er quilting, I meant quilting...I've noticed I'm an equal opportunity color gal. I told my partners I'm hoping to make a blk & wht quilt soon, they could send those or surprise me.
Regards all,
Kif

queenof2802 01-09-2016 08:20 AM

I am postal, well my package went out today. Has an expected delivery of Tuesday.

jclinganrey 01-09-2016 09:55 AM

Everything is sounding good, ladies. Looking forward to seeing pics.

BTW - my favorite color is blue - true blue, sky blue, royal blue, indigo blue.

sewellie 01-10-2016 09:47 PM

lucky_alf2 01-10-2016 10:43 PM

Received wonderful b&w fqs from queenof2802. I'm especially thrilled because none of them are duplicates of any I already have. Now to buckle down and choose a pattern for a b&w quilt. I may add in a splash of lime green too.
Anyone with any terrific pattern ideas you think would make a nice quilt (lap up to twin size I'm thinking), please let me know. I've got tons of books and patterns, but I sometimes have a terrible time deciding on patterns.
Here's a pic of the fqs, and again I want to say thanks so much to queenof2802!

Again, the stripes, lol, was just saying about that this morning. I do not handle stripes well, can't not work with them to my satisfaction, lol. So I respect anyone that does. Love the selection, though, very nice.

So sorry, kiffie2413. Silly auto correct thought your name should be Katie, lol.

I too am afraid of stripes and have never worked with them in a quilt. I have with doll clothes, but that is a different animal.

kiffie2413 01-14-2016 04:02 AM

Jane,
That's a beautiful pattern!

AnngelAnne,
I'm famous for putting stripes and directional fabrics in my quilts...especially on sashing and borders. I'll post some pics where I've done it. One trick I've found is I often cut along 1 stripe instead of cutting the exact width
It's actually worked out better a couple of times.

Tracey,
It was AnngelAnne who posted about not handling stripes, I love that you sent them!
I'm not afraid of them. But I am intimidated by fmq. No matter how much I say I'm just going to do it more often, I seem to revert back to outline quilting or hand quilting...lol.
I wonder why you haven't received your pkg...haven't heard from my other partner either...hmmm. hopefully y'all will get them today...

Regards all,
Kif

I can't believe I uploaded the picture. Now if I can just remember how I did it!! LOL

Well Kif, if I had not just gone thru my whole stash a few months ago, I would pick out all the stripes, and even suggestion of stripes I would box it up and send it to you. As it was I took it all out to goodwill and let them have at it. I give you kudos for working with them as I totally find them frustrating. But now that I have only a few (I think some grew back) I am sure I didn't miss them when sorting, not so overwhelming I will try to work with them a bit. Especially with your suggestion of trying to cut alone one strip. Thanks.

AnngelAnne,
Lol on the stripes. That's how I feel about paisley...I say if we all liked the same things, how dull the world would be.

Can you tell me the secret to fmq? That's one thing that I just can't conquer.
Here's a pic of 1 of my quilts I used stripes in. I press the dickens out of it to make sure the stripes aren't "cattywompus". Then if I can, I cut along a stripe rather than an exact measurement. It's by no means perfect, but I know I will never do anything that is...lol

AnngelAnne, I received your beautiful FQ yesterday! I don't have ANY of these fabrics in my stash, and they coordinate wonderfully with my other fabrics I'm collecting for the Swoom Quilt. Thanks so much! <script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/829ff9ad/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script>

I am so happy you not only received the fat quarters but are pleased with them. And that they will work for you, made my day. Nothing on this end yet, and of course won't be checking today as the post office is closed, but will have something to look forward to for tomorrow.
