Oh my gosh! Those doll clothes are amazing! The detail is spot on!
this is such a strange time, and I would love to see what everyone is working on!

I'm really sorry. This round is one I'm going to miss. With the way things are in the world right now I completely forgot about the swap until my reminder came up.

Wishing everyone good health and safety through these hard times. I am looking forward to seeing everyone creations.

Peace

Sue, here are a few more.I loved making the drop seat PJ's. Nurse was made for so many friends and family in the medical fields. I hope to have enough items to put in a local shop.I have made over 100 pairs of shoes. This shows a couple different stiles.

Blueridgebeverly 03-29-2020 10:25 AM

Mary! Oh my goodness — they are awesome. The shoes are unbelievably cute.

lawsonmugs 03-29-2020 11:44 AM

Thank you I love sewing them. and making the boots and shoes. The shoes are only 2 1/2" long. so they are tiny. I love miniatures, so it's no surprise to make these small items. lol. I would love to see what everyone else has been working on.

Northern Sue 03-29-2020 04:19 PM

wish you were closer!

These are awesome! What a talent you have! Those little shoes! and the drop seat! Probably only those of us of a certain age might remember those! :)

Mary they are awesome! How clever you are. I've Just busy blitzing. House yard and even the chook pen found lots things that need mending or finishing (Not including quilt ufos) I'm in the process of gluing together a porcelain doll I made years ago and it got dropped . It will definitely be a "look at only"doll now

Bowing out

Just been in to check. Yes I'm happy wait too. I just hope I don't run out of things to do.

ekuw 03-30-2020 11:27 AM

I have been following the thread, but decided not to participate in the swap this time. I have been able to piece, but not quilt. My main sewing machine (the one I do my quilting on) stopped working in January. It worked perfectly until it didn't...no warning at all. It turns out that it is the computer board. In addition to it being a major fix, the computer board is back ordered until the end of March. Well, that should be right about now and of course the store where I bought my machine and will have it repaired is closed as is every other non-essential business here in California. I have been piecing and in addition to the quilt I was half done on when my machine quit working, I have made 4 tops that will need to be quilted. I normally don't have UFO's I make a top, then quilt it before I move on to the next. Yikes! I have decided the next pattern I undertake will be more complex so it slows me down a bit.
Northern Sue, your Frolic block is beautiful. I have been considering doing Frolic as it definitely would slow me down. I haven't done a BH mystery yet even though I have saved the clues from her last three including Frolic. I like that you used a constant fabric and that is what I would do to, but I guess I just don't love the final product.
I am leaning towards maybe a Storm at Sea or a Burgoyne Surrounded.
Glad to read that all of you are staying safe and well and isolating as much as possible. Whenever life returns to something that resembles normal I will look forward to seeing the runners that you all have made and hopefully will be ready to participate in the next swap.

Thanks for all the nice comments. Where are your projects???? Come on don't be shy. We all need some eye-candy. It's going to be a long time till the next swap if we don't fill in with some chat and !!!! yeah pictures. lol

Lawsonmugs … fabulous job on your AG outfits!

Annaquilts 04-01-2020 08:11 AM

I am just popping in to see what everyone has been making. Took off for the last 2 for a veriety of reasons but hope to join again. In our home 4 are out and working and 4 are home and one working for and at college. All are in agriculture from a store, trucking to farm but all are out in the public. One of our daughters just got married. They had originally signed up in our town and that date was canceled because it is closed but then they received a call that because he is millitary they could get married at the nearest big town by the justice of the peace. She was permitted one witnes and I was blessed to be that one. After a 2 day honeymoon she came back home and he went back. They are waiting to go on the housing list. I have also been cleaning house and cooking way more and creative as three of the adults now take all meals at home while before they would eat out frequently. As for quilting not much has been happening. I want to and I should and have plenty to work on and play with. So that is why as a goal I hope to participate again. I also miss chatting with everyone. Eventhough I am younger then hubby but have chronic issues, hubby and one of our adult sons are the ones getting groceries. Hubby at some places, certain days can use the senior line and that has been helpful but overal he has to spend a lot of time shopping as items are limited, small quantities or not available.

lawsonmugs 04-01-2020 02:29 PM

Hi Anna. Sounds like your a busy woman. It's not to different for me and my husband. We don't go out much at all. I shop once every 10 days or so. It's harder to shop now that people are being pigs and hording. I know we need to buy for 2 weeks at a time. How many people go through 3 triple roll 18 pks of t.p. in 2 weeks. unbelievable. Sure hope this quits spreading and we can go back to complaining about prices not the lack of things on the shelves. LOL. please show some pictures OK?

JuneBillie 04-04-2020 07:18 PM

That quilt block is so pretty.

Happy Easter to all of you. Sorry it's late. It's quiet here as usual. I love the quiet, that's why we moved way out in the country. Just wish my family could have come over for a nice dinner. Instead they came and said Hi while staying outside and away. No hugs.... I miss the hugs a lot. Hope ya all stay safe and well. Hugs Mary

m-fay 04-17-2020 03:43 PM

Thanks lawsonmugs. All's going well in my neck of the woods. Like you, so glad to live in the country. But miss the hugs. I haven't touched another living soul since March 17.but my little dog meg gets lots of pats and grooming. I am lucky having neighbours and son lives next door so we do socialise at a distance. Keep well and safe everyone. And has anyone heard from Caroline? I sent an email but having heard back. I hope she's ok

Northern Sue 04-18-2020 11:34 AM

Hi everyone! Just dropping in to check on everyone! I thought spring was finally here, but you know how it goes - it snowed again last week! Very windy this weekend so that will help shrink our snow banks!
Our Premier has declared another 28 days (at least) of social distancing etc. So I finally started making masks for husband & I. Also making for boys & their families now. Although I don't want them taking little kids anywhere even if wearing a mask! Haven't quite figured out how to recommend that to them! lol Mask making is still a high anxiety project for me & I really don't know why! I was still working during the H1N1 and SARS outbreaks so I am certainly concerned everyone on the front lines - masks were only partly helpful during that time!
So I'm still working on Frolic, also started Unity - another Bonnie Hunter project for the COVID time, and the Secret Garden Mini Quilt! Yikes - no wonder my sewing area is a mess! lol
Stay well everyone & post some pics of your quilting projects helping you get through this time!

lawsonmugs 04-28-2020 11:42 AM

Boy this page is as quiet as the toilet paper isle at the stores. Hope ya all are still doing good. I'm still making my 18" doll clothes.

m-fay 04-28-2020 03:01 PM

I'm going good too. I fly past here everyday to see if anyone's been. I'm really looking for ways to fill in my days. I heard from Caroline a couple of days ago and though it's bad in England, she and her family are going ok at the moment. Keep well and safe everyone

It is good to hear that you guys are doing well. Everyone in my family is healthy. I’ve been making masks for family and friends. Also a few to donate. I’ve also kept up with a block of the month sew along (2020 Color Challenge) and a table runner. Here is the table runner in progress.

m-fay 04-29-2020 03:44 PM

That is beautiful so far beverly.. I've been unpicking flour bags and cleaning them up to make something. I also have an old feather doona that the feathers have all gone to one end. I'm thinking of combining the 2 and making a cover for my camp chair, That should make it cozy for winter camping round camp fire.

Blueridgebeverly 04-29-2020 09:49 PM

m-fay, a cover for your camp chair does sound like a cozy idea. What is a doona? Webster’s Dictionary doesn’t know.....when I google it, a car seat/stroller comes up.

m-fay 04-30-2020 07:00 AM

A doona is a stuffed quilt like an eiderdown.. Maybe it's only Australians that call it a doona.

lawsonmugs 04-30-2020 07:18 AM

Go ahead Beverly ask her what a eiderdown is. LOL. I don't know what either is. But your runner is starting out pretty Marion.

Northern Sue 04-30-2020 11:48 AM

I'm sitting here chuckling - I had no idea what a doona was either! An eiderdown is a puffy, goose down or similar quilt isn't it? So glad to hear that Caroline & family well during this time! And it's fantastic to finally see some life on this site! I was wondering where everyone had gone to! I was looking for something today (don't remember what now!) in my quilting stuff & same across a card I received with an runner from Rosalyn (R-sea) a couple of years ago maybe. Inside was a handwritten note and the beverage to go with the introduction:
"I'd like to come and visit you
and have a cup of tea,
but as you so far away,
please have this one on me ..."
And yes the beverage was a teabag, Darjeeling Black Tea!

So hey everyone, grab a cup of your favorite & set down for a few & think of all the runner ideas Carolyn is going to want to hear about when we get up and running again!

m-fay 05-01-2020 06:34 PM

Lawson, the runner is Beverly and it is looking good. Sue has answered the eiderdown question...now I want to know, what do you call them. And Sue I have made my cuppa, in a mug sent with a table runner from Beverly . (Thanks Bev) I got excited with the night theme TR and this idea popped into my head straight away, loved it so much can't give it away so I made a very different one that I love too and it'll be in next swap. The silhouette is my late husband and we did a lot of beach fishing. The runner in front on the photo is from Anna.i can't do the photo on my phone so I'll send it separately

And a table runner send by me. Atleast the bottom one with squares. Surprised to see it in the picture but glad you are enjoying it. This is such a fun swap. I am kind of going through a dry patch as far as quilting goes but hopefully soon I will join again. It is fun seeing everyone and their work.

Hey everyone? Are you still here? I'm not sure if everyone is finding themselves kind of distracted, even from quilting, in this current climate of the pandemic & social upheaval! Quilting is usually my safe & comforting place, even in my head, but sometimes its a struggle at the moment. However, today I'm making flying geese (millions of them I think!) for my Unity quilt by Bonnie Hunter. I'm going to try to attach a pic, to show how bored my girls are with these flying geese too! :)
Anyone know whether our next runners will be due at end of June? or later? Hope everyone has stayed safe & well! What are you creating? Maggie & Zoe grew tired of the multiple trips between the sewing machine & the iron! lol

Hi Ladies,

Sue, thank you for jogging me! I do hope that you are all keeping well and safe.

I want to touch base with you all and ask how you would feel about re-instating the swap? I don't want to be premature but things are slowly starting to readjust here so I thought it might be a good time to put the wheels in motion. Of course we would set the mailing date so as to allow some time for everyone to finish their runner and get organised.

So, what do you all think????

Hugs

Caroline

lawsonmugs 06-01-2020 07:56 AM

I hope you continue this swap. I have enjoyed it for a long time. now. I was out of this last swap for personal reasons, then the virus hit. Hope everyone is doing well with that. I am starting to sell my doll clothes and a few other sewn items in a booth in town. I have worked on these things for the last few months. What I am getting at is I am out for this swap still but want to be in the next one. Hope this makes sense and helps you to decide what you will do. Everyone stay safe. Hugs Mary P.S. I look forward to seeing everyone's runner.

Blueridgebeverly 06-01-2020 11:38 AM

Hi, everyone! I am enjoying a little gardening, a little quilting, and making masks for family and friends. I would be interested in this go around whenever the deadline to mail. If we stay with the night or day theme, I have a table runner in my head I will try to execute. If for some reason it doesn’t pan out, I am close to finishing the cottage stars table runner I shared a photo of earlier. It would fit a night theme.

Hope everyone is doing well. Hugs.
Beverly

m-fay 06-01-2020 04:00 PM

I, too,am ready to restart when you're ready. I have my night theme all wrapped and ready for posting but can do another if you change from that. I have just stated sewing again.since cancelling the PC and T R . I am doing a block of the week mysyery with ice leopard . Apart from that, i ve been spending time and money on my house and garden. Now,with last week's rain I can say winter is here and I won't have to water I will weed instead. I love winter here when everything is green and a good vege garden and all my bulbs emerging.

Northern Sue 06-01-2020 04:37 PM

I am ready to restart when everyone else is too! If we are staying with same theme I’m ready to go. If we’ve changed the theme, I’ll hustle! So glad to see you all back!

R-sea 06-03-2020 07:43 AM

I am ready to go with the same theme .

Annaquilts 06-03-2020 08:18 AM

What is the theme and when are these due?
I feel like some one spun me around kind of like kids do with a blind fold and pin the tail on the donkey game. A bit of a confused disoriented feeling.

m-fay 06-03-2020 03:51 PM

Caroline will start it again soon and I think we'll carry on with day or night theme as most of us had finished that one but it may change. Caroline has stared off the pin cushion one and this one will be soon.

Northern Sue 07-01-2020 12:14 PM

Hello everyone! Me again! Did I miss the posting for the start of the next swap? I too feel like I've been blindfolded & spun around a few times! This has been such a crazy time! It is finally summer here, and slowly things are starting to open up a bit, but all the crazies who have been ignoring the precautions & continue to congregate, party & now go the beach - it is a constant worry, when the next wave will hit!.

Hoping someone posts with a status update!

Blueridgebeverly 07-02-2020 02:42 PM

Hi, Sue! Ive also checked periodically for updates but haven’t seen anything.

It is crazy times! We have tried to stick to the stay at home plan with few exceptions. I have a routine dental check up next week, and I’m wondering if I should delay it. My husband has gone for two haircuts in the past 5 months. I haven’t had a haircut since January. But have one scheduled for later this month. With
Covid cases rising, I’m thinking it isn’t a good time to relax. But most people around me don’t seem to agree. I was surprised our county fair board decided to go ahead with the fair in August. The fairgrounds are here in our little village. Then school starts! Has me worried. Can they say the second wave has hit if we haven’t managed to exit the first wave?

I’ve been cleaning and reorganizing my sewing room this week. It doubles as a family A/P and A/R room. Trying to minimize the overlap that happens regularly. It took me two days to get this one corner done. At this rate it may take me weeks! LOL

Haven’t been very motivated to sew for some reason. I am still making masks. But not even that every day.

Stay safe and well!
hugs
Bev
