It is waaaay cold here in southeast Iowa and going to be colder tonight and tomorrow! When I went to the Dr on Friday she told me to stay indoors and away from all the germy people out there. I haven't been out the doorsinc then!

Grandma Peg 01-05-2014 12:36 PM

Fayser you have my sympathy. Lori, glad you are staying in and recuperating. Sounds like bad weather across most of the country.
My SP has pets.

Sounds like a good idea. Dang germy people anyway. :)

I'm currently sick myself...:( I have my hubby to thank for that.

jaba 01-05-2014 07:08 PM

Sewed for my SP today, in her favorite colors, so hope she will like them.

Me too! But I'm blaming my grandsons who are germ-magnets. Spent the first few days of the year with a tap turned on in my head :(

I am, however, sufficiently well enough recovered to struggle over to my LQS sale............ :)

quiltnut4ever 01-06-2014 06:37 AM

Fayzer my sympathies to you that must have been a hard time overall. Lori please stay indoors. Anyone out there in the frigid weather do the same if you can. I lived in Alaska years ago and know how it feels with temps at below anything, ie. -50! So layer your clothing, cover your ears and wear gloves. Though I live in FL we are going to have our weather drop to the low 30's this week. Don't get me wrong I am not complaining but for Florida standards when it hits that low it does get bone chilling. On another note, I'm going out today to shop for my SP. You and I share the same like in colors, you have a furry friend and live North of me. Everyone have a great day and be safe and warm.

Lori Peercy 01-06-2014 06:50 AM

It is -13 with wind chill of -38 this morning. High of -6 today. I ain't goin Nowhere! With my COPD I sure don't need to be out in that. I have lost about 50 pounds now and have been able to cut my high blood pressure medicine in half and don't have to take anything for my diabetes anymore. I hope this year is better than last year for sure.

Wowwwwwww Lori, that's fantastic, I know how hard that is so I'm very impressed with losing so much weight.
When I was diagnosed with diabetes I lost a lot of weight as well and could lower my medication. Unfortunately now, 15 yrs later and the same weight, I do have to take more meds and give myself a 'shot' once a day.
Ah well, old age, what can a girl do ? LOL.

Stay warm and comfy indoors.
Today it was 14 degr. C here, according to 'the people who know these things' it's the warmest 6th of januari in recorded history :-)

mscupid804 01-06-2014 10:40 AM

You all in the snowy, cold areas need to stay warm! Here in Newport News, VA we don't have snow but we get those cold temps at night. I'm grateful for that because I don't like snow! If it comes to VA, it usually hits the mountains and the NE parts. Don't know how you all do it! BBRRRRRR!!!!!

hav4boys 01-06-2014 12:59 PM

Okay, back from a weekend away. Hint number 2 for my secret pal.

As of the 2000 census, there were 8,809 people, 3,992 households, and 2,431 families residing in your town. You are not an avid reader and have no notion dislikes. Is it you???

Hint #3- This was your main town in 1905.

AMEN! I lost a friend who lives in the apartment building I live in. She had a stroke and fell and when her family was unable to contact her when they called 3 times that afternoon they got worried and came over and found her. She was unresponsive when they got there and called the ambulance. I know that she hoped to go quickly when it was her time but......will miss her a lot she was a feisty gutsy woman in her 80's and proud of it. Rest in peace Joan!

Grandma Peg 01-06-2014 09:01 PM

Sorry to hear about your friend, quite a shock for everyone.

quiltnut4ever 01-07-2014 04:14 AM

Lori Peercy 01-07-2014 05:38 AM

Thank you Theresa and Lillian and Peg. It was a little short lady and when she didn't like what I said she always said "come over here so I can kick your butt" grinning all the time.

Ladybug 1938 01-07-2014 01:56 PM

I am working on your package SP, got your name just a couple of days ago so sorry I haven't mailed yet, have to go shopping for the one thing you want the most and hopefully I will mail on Monday. Lots later than I normally mail but think it will be worth the late receiving date.

Belfrybat 01-08-2014 06:01 AM

I just ordered something for my SP and having it send direct. I hope she likes it! Am getting the rest of the package together and plan on mailing either Friday or Monday.

hav4boys 01-08-2014 10:22 AM

catjo 01-08-2014 04:07 PM

Finally we can get out. Been a long few days of snow, and wind. Hope to get my package mailed out tomorrow. They are saying we might be getting more snow. Tomorrow doctors apt, post office, and grocery store. Last time at the grocery store everything basic was off the shelf.
SP your hint is your favorite color is the color I least care for.
Everyone stay warm and safe.

hav4boys 01-08-2014 05:07 PM

Thank you Dotty (dotcomdtcm)

I received your package today. Pictures to follow. It was perfect. In addition, I got an email for the BOM club. :-)

Gaijin 01-08-2014 07:20 PM

Hi SP,

I am mailing your box today by Express Mail. I had fun packing it just for you and also for your special pet!
I think I covered most of the stuff on your list (and a few surprises) and I now feel like I know you! I upgraded
your favorite chocolate to the ones my sister-in- law would kill for, so I hope you like them too.

Stay warm,

Gaijin

Hi SP, your package is on it's way. It should be in the truck now heading for Amsterdam airport :-).
After crossing the Atlantic and a few states it should be almost on your doorstep LOL. Just hope the postman can come to your home (don't know how high the snow is where you live). Just hoping you are safe and warm.

verna2197 01-09-2014 09:40 AM
