Red the pinwheel picture you showed was a Christmas exchange ornament from 2016. You do not need to buy that gadget to make them. It is just squares folded in quarter triangles and sewn together in the center. It is very easy at first and then gets harder when almost finished, because one end is tucked in all the time. I'll see if I can find the actual pattern.

Folded fabric Star tutorial is on u-tube made by nancys notions. I used at least a couple more triangles than I saw. And I did not use a circle but I think it is a fine idea. Pm me for additional help.
