I have to say this month's fabric that everyone has been showing have made me have a new outlook on the 30's. I just love them now I find myself looking at the 30's print at the local quilt shops .
I just can't stop myself from sharing with everyone, but I just won some beautiful fabric from sew4home giveaway the fabric is from free spirt designer is Marjolien bastin and I can't wait to get them. I am not sure if I get the full FQ's collection or the yardage . thank you for letting me share with you all because I am just to excited. |

I've seen several good ideas for possible future themes. Here are a few more:
Black & white Asian style Civil War reproduction novelty brights Kaffee Fassett style Thimbleberries (does anyone still follow that line anymore??) Shabby chic Jane I have seen a few black and white quilts on the board here that were absolutely striking, and there was one that was black, grey and white, it reminded me of b&w pictures. Before seeing them I had never thought of B&W as a quilt theme, only as accents. That's another thing I like about this swap, it gets us into new directions or at the very least appreciation for those fabrics we might tend to overlook and see them in a new light. I also have been noticing Asian fabrics more this past year than before, don't know if they are becoming more prominent or I just started noticing. Seems like a lot of our participants have been dealing with all kinds of illness, injury, and losses, and a few unexpected things -like mail hanging out in the wrong box as well as the out of town-ness too. Tonight I will again be including all of you in some prayer time. |
Wow how did you do that Bdawn? show and tell time show and tell time!
|
I received beautiful fat quarters from jjsikes yesterday and I just love them, and yes I love pink and these were just gorgeous
|
I think it was so cool, that both the people I sent to, were the people who sent to me :)
|
Glad you liked them April. Jayla had fun picking then out since pink is her second favorite color.
|
Bdawn....so happy for you..please show us when you get your "winnings" and tell us how you entered. Still waiting for the second set of FQ's...maybe tomorrow...sigh...

Finally downloading/uploading pictures of FQs I received this month. They are beautiful fabrics .... so excited to get started stitching with them and the ones I have.
These are from jclinganrey .... great variety of color on these beautiful fabrics. and these came from tumrub. She must have known I like "doggie" fabrics .... both of those pinks have brown puppies on them. attractive FQs for sure! Mine finally went out today. I put the original fabrics in a "safe" place while I organized storage area .... well you probably know that story .... I can't find them, so had to go shopping again. So glad July is coming to an end! I feel that I've lost my groove somewhere. PS ... just found the notes that should have been in envelopes with FQs mailed out today .... sorry, gals, no surprises in your packages this month. |
I received FQ's from sikes, what beautiful fabric! Thank you so much! I have a large 30's collection and these are completly new to me. I feel so lucky.
Has anybody heard from Aunt piggylpn? I hope she is okay. I haven't heard a word since I sent her swap to her. |
Still waiting for one more set...nothing in the box today...

I hope I have the fabrics in my stash that will be August swap, because I'm either at the Dr's office or physical therapy. My doctor changed my blood pressure meds and I was dizzier that a loon. I was dealing with the healing knee replacement and fell on Thursday night. I fell in a garden that was lined with rocks. I fell on my back and my elbow. My elbow filled with water and became huge. On the other side I broke a rib. What a mess! I've never been a ballet queen, but this time I don't think it was my fault. Anyway, hope the fabric choice is easy. Blessings to you all. Ellie

Oh my sewellie:shock: Ouch!!!. If you get my name in next swap you can send whatever you want. Please be careful and fast healing sending your way.

|
sewellie, that's quite an experience. Hope you heal fast!
|
Oh, sewellie I'm so sorry to hear of your trials. Seems like things seem to always get worse before they get better. Hope you mend quickly and that the dizziness is gone.
Still waiting on my second set, trying to be patient, not sure what I'm doing wrong cause I'm not feeling it ;) |
Got a beautiful set from MaryMo today. Love them!!!

sewellie hope you're able to get some rest and take it easy. Ouch. |
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one waiting for my second set of 30s fqs. I was getting very nervous until I found this thread. I have sent pms but haven't heard anything back so I was concerned someone was in serious trouble. I guess I will just be patient and wait with starshine, luvstoquilt, tlambing....I'm having a hard time being patient....

I'm still in Idaho BUT good news! Hubby searched my stuff and found my 30's for this swap. He's my hero. I'll be getting the FQ's out ASAP. I'm so thankful to my ladies for your patience. HUGS:D
|
Kudos to hubby!!! He gets a gold star today!!!

Brenda hides from us as much as she possibly can.. always pestering her you guys. NOT ME, never I wouldn't do that but surely you guys would. I hope all get their packets this month so we can move on to the next swap. I think she waits til almost all are finished before posting a new one. this way no one is left behind so mail away you late mailers! I am looking forward to swapping with ya'all this next round. each and every one of you lol. ok maybe two of you. but still excited to do it!

Prayers and hugs to you, sewellie...hope you get better quickly. I want to share a funny story....about crossed wires or maybe ME just having a senior moment. I missed out on the swap this month so sikesjj (Jamie) graciously offered to trade with me....I think I asked her how many she wanted to trade, 2 or 4..... and she said let's do 4.....So that's what I did....I SENT HER 4 FAT QUARTERS......imagine my surprise when I got my big, beautiful assortment of 20 FAT QUARTERS from her. I did sent her out 16 more yesterday by 2day priority mail and sent her the tracking number. I must have lost my mind that day----not only do I know we trade 5 fat quarters, so I don't know where the 2 or 4 came from....but I also don't know why I wasn't thinking in terms of sets. OK....maybe this isn't really a funny story....but it does say what a gracious, considerate soul Jamie is! Thanks for being so understanding, Jamie!
Blessings.... |
