A summer picnic from snownannie! I just love that picnic ants fabric. Great fats, too. And a Frixion pen... I just love mine and use it all the time. Lovely, snownannie.

Mrsstevenson sent some beautiful sailboat mug rugs. Just got to love that matched pair.

ctyankee 07-28-2015 03:34 AM

Dotty -- cute twin sailboat mug rugs you received! And I see you've been busy yourself. The fabric in your charm pack is adorable! Love those owls & leaves! And your tease -- you've been busy!

Hi everybody! I have to show you the lovely mug rug dotcomdtcm sent me. She tells me it's Broderie Perse, a method I have never tried (or seen before).

Ctyankee that is a very pretty mug rug from Dotty. I have done that before, but didn't know what it was called.

ctyankee 07-30-2015 03:39 AM

We are now up to 25 swappers for August -- At the Zoo ... would like to even out that number. Anybody else out there who would like to participate? This is going to be a fun swap -- this swap just gets better every month! Please join in!

lynnie 07-30-2015 10:59 AM

Anyone hear from Brat. we usually write each other a few times a week, and haven't heard from her lately.

nana pat 07-30-2015 11:47 AM

Hi again. I just found out I can use my Kindle to go to the Quilting Board site. My laptop conked out on my a month ago and I need to replace it, but of course that takes more money than I have, so it will have to wait.
How are your sessions going? Are you hanging in there?
I have finished two quilt tops this month and it makes my "Need to be sandwiched" pile even bigger. I have the backing fabric for only two of them plus the table runner so now Rebekah and I need to find time to work on them together. We also get to shop after the 3rd. Hope this gets through to you. Pat

Lynnie, her kids are here for this week. Between having the extra "-pressure" and dialysis just tired I think.

sewbizgirl 07-30-2015 03:18 PM

Beautiful swap, Teri Lynn. Of course we all want to know where the shirt kleenex holder pattern lives.... That is just too cute.

ctyankee 07-30-2015 05:29 PM

lynnie 07-30-2015 06:41 PM

o.k. tell us how to do it!!!

JuneBillie 07-30-2015 07:11 PM

That is a cute mug rug, and I also think that is the cutest tissue holder. :)

I searched on the web, and have a link to a download for this tissue holder. Am I allowed to add a link?

Sure you can, Susan. Thank you!

The "coloring" is done with good old crayola crayons, then heat set by placing a piece of fabric on top and heat with iron till you start to smell the wax, you do have to be careful not to burn it. The white fabric is left over from our county fair, have been doing it for years nice event, kind of works like this. It is something thát is a three year process, the first year they sell a fat quarter for five dollars, every year different themes, this year was flowers, then you have a year to make a square using thàt fabric following specific rules, the second year they are collected the week before the fair and then they are hung for all to see and vote on their favorite, the winner of that block favorite wins twenty five dollars, then for the third year the squares are assembled into quilts usually two quilts, a wall hanging and then a table topper, they are quilted by the local guilds, then the third year everything is hung and chances are sold, the winners getting the finished project and the money going to either charity or something to do with the fair, ribbons or things like that.

Go for it, I have to be honest ladies, I didn't make the klenex holder, I received one from another swap and then went to a craft fair and they were there for $3 so I bought a bunch, thought they looked great.

ctyankee 07-31-2015 02:44 PM

Nan62 -- beautiful mug rug you received! And lots of wonderful goodies!

We now have 27 sign-ups for August's At the Zoo. Anybody else want to join? Today's the last day, because tomorrow I will be posting partners. And since this is a partnered swap, we can't have odd numbers!

If need be, you could drop one of the doubles and tell them a second partner is just not available... or talk someone into two swaps who only has one right now.

ctyankee 07-31-2015 03:20 PM

I would hate anyone to miss the swap. I'm working on something right now -- & hoping it all works out!

But I will consider that for the future -- anyone wanting to do 2 swaps would depend on the number of participants. Yes, I think that's a brilliant idea, sewbizgirl! I just don't want to take anything away from someone at this point -- if I can help it! Thanks for your input!

sewbizgirl 07-31-2015 03:25 PM

I can understand that. Read my comment in the other thread... about a 'triangular' swap. Another idea to remedy the situation.
