Ukinusa 07-03-2020 03:55 AM

Me too, thank you Rhonda, this is so exciting.

Rhonda 07-06-2020 09:34 PM

Thanks Ladies!! You are all the best!! I will keep on hosting as long as I have at least 4-5 interested. And as long as my health allows. Just to let you know my husband has had cancer show up a second time and he will be going through surgery and radiation as far as we know rt now. So what the next 4 months are going to be like I don't now for sure. He had a softball size cancer taken off his arm a year ago. Now it showed up in his bone in his chest. So not sure what we will be going through. I have a lung disease and can't go into the hosp with him. so this next few months are very uncertain for us. I appreciate all of you and I don't have any plans to not do the swap. Just wanted you to know in case I can't for some reason. But for now everything is on an even keel so far. We live one day at a time so that is how we are dealing now. Glen had a brain injury in 1977 and over the years we learned to go with the flow and don't borrow trouble. LOL So on with the show!! I am looking forward to seeing the next batch of Wall Hangings!! I love all of your creativity! Thank you so much for participating in the swap!!! R

granky 07-07-2020 05:07 AM

Oh gosh Rhonda....I wish there was some way we could help you, but that's impossible, except for our prayers, and you certainly have mine! Hang in there girl!

Teen 07-07-2020 03:48 PM

Hugs, Rhonda! Prayers being lifted and please keep us posted on hubbie. He's certainly conquered some challenges in the past...sounds like a strong man. Kapow!!! Take that, Invader!!!

Rumbols 07-10-2020 06:54 PM

Rhonda, sending hugs and prayers to you and your hubby. Sounds like you have both been battling the odds for a long time. Here's to hoping you both stay strong and conquer all in the future. https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/heart.gifhttps://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...es/thumbup.png

MarionsQuilts 07-26-2020 02:33 PM

Rhonda, fingers crossed and sending big hugs your way.

I'm in for this one. I can't believe I missed the last one. I thought it ended in July LOL ... I'm such a twit. I might need a reminder! I'm not on here as much since I've been working from home. I get tired of being on the computer, and my garden is thriving!

No problem Marion at all! I wondered why you weren't there but just figured you were busy. I should have checked with you.
I did miss you. Next time you will be in the midst of the swap!! LOL

Rhonda 07-26-2020 06:29 PM

Thank you everyone for all your great comments. I know we have become a family over time. I was going to post my answer here but decided to put it in my PDA Rhonda's Retreat where you can see my explanation of what is going on with Glen and me. Look for post 4594
https://www.quiltingboard.com/person...ml#post8405206

I didn't want to get in trouble for posting something that wasn't actually quilting in this thread LOL

I so appreciate each one of my swappers! I started this swap back in 2012. Can you believe we've been going so long? :)
Thanks so much for sticking with me through the years. R

Annaquilts 08-01-2020 01:31 PM

So I am quilting the wallhanging for this next swap and I send a picture to my quilting buddy. She wants it! Like as in she needs it. LOL Not sure if I will get to make another wall hanging for this swap. What is everyone planning to make or is making already? My mind is blank as to making another one from scratch.

I'm always thinking of odd things, and the pic I posted at the end of the last swap showed what I'm trying to accomplish. Grandma, Grandpa and the baby are cooperating, Mama and Papa....not so much. I put them aside to work on masks for school opening, and am about ready to tackle them again....here's the pic I posted...

LOL....well, you must send it to her but share a picture anyway so we can drool, too. As to a new idea, not sure if you visit any designer blogs but so many of them are offering free projects lately. Some are wallhangings and/or mini's....some are table runners that can be redesigned into WH. Pat Sloan blog comes to mind but she has links to a bunch of other blogs who are offering free project downloads. Maybe you'll get inspired surfing blogs.

I am redesigning a Kimberbell project into a Wallhanging. She has so many cute projects. This week I start her Love Notes Mystery Quilt sew-along....

Annaquilts 08-01-2020 07:35 PM

No have not visited designer blogs but it sounds like a fun idea. Not sure where to start. I will try and google.

Annaquilts 08-01-2020 07:48 PM

Thank you Teen! I found something looking at a blog. It will be a Fall wall hanging. I am super excited about it eventhough right now I am sitting in the middle of a heat wave. Maybe I better not send a picture to my friend.

Oh...awesome, Anna...You are so welcome. I surf designer blogs all the time for inspiration. I have a stack of free project patterns I have yet to get to. However, I did make this cute little 8" pillow this week.....a free download from Kimberbell Creations website....lovely little break to create something cute, quickly. Looking forward to seeing what you create.. I love my Easter Wallhanging you made a couple of swaps ago...

It's hot here, too. We hit 107 a couple of days ago. Thought I was back in Calif. lol!! Be safe..

Rhonda 08-06-2020 10:34 AM

Teen what is a designer blog? Just curious!

Teen 08-07-2020 06:07 PM

Rhonda... Quilt and fabric designers typically host their own blog highlighting their new collections and pattern designs. Many post a new blog post everyday like a quilter's diary....many share free patterns or provide links where you can get them... Here are a few to puruse...

Red Pepper Quilts
Diary of a Quilter
Cluck Cluck Sew

I got creative and ended up changing the pattern and making the wall hanging larger. Who is ready for some cooler Fall weather and pretty leaves?

Mine is all done ... i was trying to use up some of my batiks, and trying out a new pattern combo ...

I "birthed" this wall hanging, and I am not going to quilt it LOL ... I don't have a clue how to quilt it, so I am going to leave it up to the person who gets it, to do their own quilting!

I am also enclosing some surprise blocks!!!!

Hope the recipient doesn't mind doing their own quilting on this - it's not big at all - 29X24

Marion

On another note - is there an easier way to attach a picture other than "manage attachments"? We used to be able to use a button in the menu at the top of the box, but I can't figure it out anymore

Annaquilts 08-22-2020 02:21 PM

That is a sweet wall hanging Marion. You are inspiring me to maybe make something with batiks in the near future. Very pretty.

Teen 08-22-2020 08:37 PM

Anna....your maple leaf is so pretty. That block is on my bucket list.... Turned out awesome!

Marion......gorgeous!! Love the colors and layout... Looks amazing...

I finished the top and sandwiched it today. I used 1930's and one of my all-time favorite fabrics together. I'm tempted to make me one. I do this every Swap....lol..... I'll post picture when done cuz the binding is cool too... Quilting it tomorrow...

Annaquilts 08-23-2020 12:49 PM

Thank you Teen! I would love to see what you are working on. I know what you mean, I now want to make a leaf wall hanging for myself too. I do not have any more of the border fabric I used and I think that really added to the wall hanging. Hopefully you can post a picture of your work in progress. You always make amazing wall hangings.

You are a sweetheart, Anna. Thank you! Everyone is so creative on this Swap..I love playing with you guys....lol..

Here is my bright and cheery..oh it makes me smile..Wallhanging.....lol...however; This really is dual purpose cuz I think it would be adorable as a table topper. 30" square.... Nonetheless, I've added the sleeve so the recipient has an option.... I used 1930's fabric and one of my fav Loralie Designs fabric for the border. Hey Anna....the PP house patterns were a free download from a designer blog...lol... See? Free stuff everywhere...

Annaquilts 08-24-2020 06:48 PM

Your town square wall hanging is adorable. It looks so petite and dainty. What size is it? Very cute and I love the little houes and fabrics. Superb job again Teen!

Teen 08-24-2020 07:39 PM

Thank you, Anna! This is the largest WH I've made for the Swap...It is 30" square. I love 1930's fabric.... Always makes me smile...

granky 08-29-2020 04:55 PM

Whew! Here it is the last of August and my wall hanging is no further along than it was in July! I'm going to have to put some other things aside and get busy! I am still hoping to do 'The Family', but who knows at this point? We shall see.........

Teen 08-31-2020 03:22 PM

Granky....you need to make us a priority!! lol.... Jus kiddin' ya... You have time and project should be fun..and, if not...do something different... Lol..that's my story from last swap... I made or started 3 WHing's nefore I was enthused with one. For me, it's about the color....lol...

Rumbols 09-01-2020 08:36 PM

Like the pretty wall hangings so far. Just started mine. Still creating.

jaba 09-05-2020 09:10 AM

Finished my wall hanging so I am ready to mail when the deadline comes. Sent the info to Rhonda so I should be on the list. I did go with a fall theme, can't decide whether to add some falling leaves or leave it like it is. I may just send some leaf fabric colors with it and the recipient can decide if she wants them on there.

R-sea 09-09-2020 03:28 AM

I have mine finished . It is a farm scene

Teen 09-10-2020 06:46 PM

Can't wait to see your creations, ladies!!
