July Pincushion and Needlecase Swap - Red, White and/or Blue
 

NOTE: We are going back to a secret swap. You will not necessarily be sending to the person who will send to you. Please do not contact your secret partner. We will be making one SET (1 pc and 1 nc) for 1 name. All skill levels welcome!

THEME: This month the theme with be Red, White or Blue (it doesn't need to be Patriotic).

CONSTRUCTION:
1. The cushion/case does not have to be quilted or hand embroidered, although it can be. But it must be handmade - not purchased.
2. Use cotton or wool felt for the pincushions and stuff with appropriate filling. Use cotton or felt for the needle case, and it should have an insert of wool, felt, or Warm and Natural (this is great for needle cases).
3. Embellishments/appliqué/embroidery are welcome but not required. If you plan on using the cushion/case as a daily use item please mention this, as polyester will dull the points of pins and needles.
4. The size and shape of the pincushion/needle case is up to the individual creating it, but should not be smaller than 3” x 3”.

SIGNUP:
Signup begins today and ends on June 30 at 11:00 pm EST. This is a firm closing time. Names will be assigned by PM beginning no later than the morning of July 2nd. Please respond to this thread with a post if you are joining the swap. Then highlight and copy the information sheet onto a new PM, fill it in and PM it to me. I will acknowledge receipt of your PM.

MAILING DATE:
The deadline for mailing is Wednesday, July 22. Participants in the June swap who did not fulfill their obligation by the time the July signup closes will not be able to participate in this swap. You are required to PM me with your tracking number when you ship. You are required to have a tracking number on your package but priority mail is not required. First class with a tracking number is acceptable. If for some reason you will not be able to fulfill your obligation, please PM me as soon as possible so that I can locate a swap angel.

YOU MUST SEND ME A PM WHEN YOU SHIP AND WHEN YOU RECEIVE. Remember to thank your partner, either by a post, or a PM for a personal thank you. It would be nice if you report a feedback score to your SP. Pictures are encouraged, but not required. We all love seeing what everyone is receiving. If you are unable to post a picture, please make sure that you mark that on your information sheet so that your partner can take a picture before shipping it. Please understand that this board has members with different skill levels and you will not necessarily be swapping with someone at the same level. Let's love the creation we are sent. We all started somewhere and the most important thing to remember, is that your partner made it with you in mind!

EXTRAS:
Please add a card or note with your name and board name so the recipient knows who made it. It is not necessary to send other items such as needles, pins, etc., but you may if you would like. Just make sure the pin points will not poke out during shipping and stab the postal worker.

Have great fabrics for needle case and p/c for this month. Love patriotic fabrics. Will be sewing this eve and tomorrow when I get home from work. Going to beach this weekend, Best fire works are from the South Jetty beaches in Venice, Sarasota County!

Just waiting for our partner's....thank heavens it's done. Still sewing and sewing on my quilts to enter in the county fair. Have the bindings left to make and hand sew them on. I have 15 days to do 3 big queen size quilts, and hanging sleeves. I really need to get in gear.

Oh my you people are fast. I haven't even started yet. I don't have to babysit all next week, only check on the dogs once a day so hopefully I'll get something done.

Mailed today....I just had to ladies, have 3 king size quilts to get done for the Park County Fair and they will be judged. Didn't want my partner to have to wait...if I did it would be 2 1/2 more weeks before I got to it and I would be going crazy. NH that is just me, can't wait until the last minute....I'd go bonkers and forget to mail.

Pat since I knew what the theme was for this month and had some time I went ahead and got it done. That gave me a little extra time to make a couple extra goodies. This doesn't happen very often.LOL. Glad to get it done early. We have had so much rain. Here it is july and the pasture is still very green.We haven't had even a fan on all week. Really strange.

I usually start them ahead of time but not this month. It was 50 here this morning. Boy was that cold. I had shut most of my windows the night before but it was only 65 in the house. It has warmed up to 78 now but I'm not complaining with the cool weather. I haven't had the AC on in the house since, oh I can't remember. This summer is way below average but I love it.
