I think a lot of people gift from their stash. That's what I did on several things I put in my secret pals box. I also do like someone else mentioned, I shop all the time and get things on sale. Of course this just started since my swap this month.

I hit the jackpot, the quilt store I go to had patternes on 40% off which made all them less than $4.00!!!! I got some fun ones for my SS swap!!

I make some of my secret pal items, its lots of fun. It is a good way to test out patterns for future bazaar items. Also whenever FQ's go on sale I pick them up. I've never sat down and totaled the $ value of the package I send, I just send what I would like to receive!

I also shop for bargains. I purchase magazines and patterns that are on sale along with gadgets. I try to spend about 10.00 and then I add the fabric. I have way to much fabric in my stash..and will never use it all. I love that this is a way to share the bounty that I have with someone who appreciates and loves fabric.
I hope that anyone who has me as a secret pal never feels they have to give more then they can. Going to the mailbox and finding a card or a note is plenty. I love that we have contact with each other and are making friends.
