July Secret Pal Sign-up (Sign-ups close midnight June 30)
 

Hard to believe it is July already!

This is a monthly secret pal swap. :D There is a sign up every month, and you can
choose whether or not to participate each month. You will get a different partner
every month, and the person you send to will be different than the person you
receive from. Failure to send you package after signing up will be cause to be banned from all future swaps. Please do not sign up if you cannot fulfill your obligation.

After receiving your Secret Pal’s details, go to work and put together a package with something you think your pal would like. There is a $10.00 limit on this swap that does not include what you have in your stash. Most swappers do not mind like-new stash items. You will need to send me (hav4boys) a PM when mailing and receiving. This way I can keep my records straight. Also send a PM to your SP thanking them and leave feedback.

Please take pictures and post in group as everyone likes to see what you get.

Packages need to be mailed out by July 16th, this is a Firm deadline. All International mailings must be mailed by July 10th Firm.
If you know that you cannot mail by that date, Please Do Not Sign Up.

For international mailing it is very important that you mark your parcel as a 'Gift' on the Customs Declaration (there's a box you can check). Also, the value should be $10 only (even if you send diamond necklace). The person receiving the package is liable for Import Duty, Tax and a Handling fee. This can cost the person receiving as much as $40.

Padded envelopes are much cheaper to send compared to small boxes. These can be ordered free of charge from the USPS website.

If your pal does not receive her/his package within a reasonable time I will need tracking information. If there is an exception on the mailing, you will need to inform me ASAP. No one enjoys not getting a package after they have sent one.

Typically we will not 'know' who our partner is until Hav4boys sends us the forms. She's very prompt about doing so after the deadline, so no worries. You'll get plenty of time to shop and squirrel things together for your new online pal.

I see you are relatively new to the board (at least you haven't posted a lot yet, but maybe you've been lurking for a while :) ). With that, if you go back to previous months, you can see what delightful things have been put together for packages. I think you'll find the ladies here to be very generous and kind with their offerings. I know I have been completely blown away with what I've received!

I'm so happy you've joined! I run the 5" charm swap, and I have gotten to "know" quite a few lovely ladies here on the board. They give great inspiration to me when I feel a sewing slump happening.

frsur33: It's pretty easy. If you look above to someone's name and click on the green feedback score number, it will take you to their profile. On the right it will have a "leave feedback" button. Click on that and fill in the form and hit enter. Voila! You've just left feedback :)

on a more personal note, can I ask how you chose your handle? I read "Fur Sure" from frsur...and it takes me back to the valley girl days of the 80's ;) :D

I am in for July. When I get my package I will pretend it is for my BD which is towards the end of the month. How exciting. I haven't done a secret pal since camp.:o

So glad to have new people. Remember to get me your narrative before the close date.

I am excited for the weekend. A friend and I are going to do the Row-by-Row 2018. We have a route planned that will hit 20 quilt shops to get patterns. Wish I could get at least one from every state, but do not see that happening. I did have a friend get me the cutest moose block (the quilts row by row) in Idaho.

That's so exciting, I love row by row! It is what inspired me to get into quilting actually. Have fun!

As for me still having trouble with my knee, don't know what the heck is going on. I think Dr thinks its all in my head. Anyway when I go back I am insisting on a MRI, yes I know where the fake knee is wont be a good pic but the surrounding area will. My Daughter was a MRI tech (she is now boss) anyway she is telling me to have this done. I also am thinking about finding another Dr to see what he says, cause I know my body and its just not right.

Anyway just wanted to pop in for a minute to say Hi and I really miss the group

My secret pal is so easy it is hard for me to decide on what to send.

I mailed my package out today. You don't live too far from me. Delivery should be by the 7th. You have a fur baby that I don't. I haven't had you before.
My AC went out today. Heat index is 100. Temp in here when tech got here was 81. Our house doesn't have as many windows, so no air flow what so ever. Had to go get a art, but now fixed. So it will take a while for it to cool down.

In your state:
It is illegal to sing in a public place while wearing a swimsuit.

SP Clue: If I'm correct your state gets tornadoes and it's not uncommon. You have been sewing much longer than I have ( though that could be anyone!). You may be familiar with author Kate Collins.
