July Secret Pal Swap - Signups end June 30 at noon

This is a monthly secret pal swap. There is a sign up every month, and you can
choose whether or not to participate each month. You will get a different partner each month, and the person you send to will may be different than the person you receive from. Failure to send your package after signing up will be cause to be banned from all future swaps. Please do not sign up if you cannot fulfill your obligation. Have fun and be creative!

After receiving your Secret Pal’s details, go to work and put together a package with something you think your pal would like. There is a $15.00 limit on this swap that does not include what you have in your stash. (This does not include shipping) Most swappers do not mind like-new stash items. You will need to send me (HAV4Boys) a PM when mailing and receiving. This way I can keep my records straight. Also send a PM to your SP thanking them and leave feedback.

Please take pictures and post in group as everyone likes to see what you get.

Packages need to be mailed out by July 17th, this is a Firm deadline. All International mailings must be mailed by June 10th FIRM. If you know that you cannot mail by that date, Please Do Not Sign Up.

For international mailing it is very important that you mark your parcel as a 'Gift' on the Customs Declaration (there's a box you can check). Also, the value should be $10 only (even if you send diamond necklace). The person receiving the package is liable for Import Duty, Tax and a Handling fee. This can cost the person receiving as much as $40.

Padded envelopes are much cheaper to send compared to small boxes. These can be ordered free of charge from the USPS website.

You must have a phone # or email to sign up

Sorry I have been missing. I was in a bicycle accident Friday. I fractured my shoulder blade and will have my left arm strapped to my side for the next 6 weeks. Road rash on my arm and knee. Overall I am blessed. I will have everything out on time.

RJLinkletter 06-26-2019 12:42 PM

Oh no hav4boys! You poor thing. You need to take it easy and I Hope you feel better as soon as possible xx

BrendaK 06-26-2019 06:02 PM

Can you take a few days off work, Kathy? You need to take it easy for a while. Usually it hurts more a couple days after an accident. Hope no one else was hurt. Hugs on your good side. BrendaK

Mary Christine 06-26-2019 06:24 PM

 Oh no, hav4boys! Thankfully you weren't injured more seriously, but surely you were injured enough! Hoping you feel better soon.

MizMelly 06-28-2019 06:07 PM

I'd like to join this month!! Sent my PM with info just now!

Darcyshannon 06-30-2019 11:04 AM

Sent my info earlier today. I really enjoy sending and receiving a surprise package in the mail.

Annaquilts 06-30-2019 10:02 PM

How are you doing have4boys?

Annaquilts 07-02-2019 09:38 AM

Anyone hear how have4boys is doing?

Queenbarbiej 07-02-2019 09:51 AM

No I haven't heard anything. It's been about a week since the last time I've heard anything from her. I hope she's okay.

hav4boys 07-02-2019 11:31 AM

Okay... I am working on getting secret pals out now. Sorry I have not been on. I was in a bicycle accidnet and have a broken shoulder balde, 2 ribs and road rash that has become infected. I am just in bad shape but time will make it better. Everyone should have their pals within an hour or two. I am so sorry for the delay. Doing things one handed is tough.

Annaquilts 07-02-2019 11:57 AM

No worries. Take your time. I think all of us were wondering how you are doing. Sorry to hear the road rash got infected. Praying you will heal soon. We are all busy with prepping for the 4 th of July. Some of my other swaps have not posted either. It is a busy time and I hope people will be understanding of each other if things run a little later. Thank you for giving us an update. All your quilting buddies here are wishing you well. ))))))Hugs(((((((

hav4boys 07-02-2019 12:24 PM

Okay they are all out. Let me know if there is an issue. So much easier with two hands and two monitors.

I will try and check in each day. Have fun and remember to send me a PM when you ship and when you receive. Glad to have some new faces this month.

Queenbarbiej 07-03-2019 03:38 AM

To my secret pal I have a couple of items that will be sent to you. They will not have my name on them. I will get the rest of your package in the mail on Monday or Tuesday of next week.

Gaijin 07-03-2019 05:45 PM

My secret pal is new to me! She doesn’t live too many states away from me and my small town has almost 3 times the population of her town. Her town is almost twice the elevation of mine, but 1/5 the area.

Darcyshannon 07-06-2019 04:03 PM

Super excited!!!! It made my day. I have been busy doing deep cleaning in my house today and yesterday was a bit of a challenge so when I got two lovely items in the mail it brightened my weekend. My DH had opened the package of tea. When he showed it to me, I realized it was a gift and can’t wait to make a cup of pear kiwi green tea. Thank you. The ruler I just opened and it will be so handy in cutting all these triangles I have been trimming with my regular ruler on the 60 degree line. Thank you! Thank you! I am guessing it is QueenBarbieJ based on post #23.

Darcyshannon 07-06-2019 04:14 PM

Hmmmm. MY SP has more than one pet (does than narrow it down) :D

Okay, this may help. My SP lives in a state that passed a law allowing women to vote before the national suffrage act was passed.

MizMelly 07-06-2019 05:04 PM

I thought long and hard about a hint and came up with this -- my SP lives east of the Mississippi! There, that narrows it down. (not really)!

By the way, there are 10 states that passed the Women's Suffrage Act before it became the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution in 1920. Thanks for the history lesson!

Mary Christine 07-07-2019 07:03 PM

Following the lead of MizMelly, my SP lives West of the Mississippi.

hav4boys 07-09-2019 11:25 AM

My secret pals lives West of the Mississippi.

hav4boys 07-09-2019 11:33 AM

I am finally feeling better. I am one-armed at the moment but doing better. Monday I see the ortho doctor to determine if I will need surgery on my shoulder. I managed to fracture the scapula right around the socket.

Hope all is well.

Mary Christine 07-09-2019 04:50 PM

Hav4boys, glad to hear you are feeling better! Don't try to do too much - I give you permission to take it easy for the rest of the week, lol.

LAQUITA 07-09-2019 05:39 PM

I received an Amazing box from Cheri Jacobson yesterday. (I have spent time today trying to look up her name under the members list but can’t find her). I’ve sent have4boys a PM, but I thought while I was waiting I would post here.
I got a box of goodies for myself and our “girls”. They live the treats and new toys. They are like kids, fighting over the toys! It’s funny to watch. Thank you for thinking of them.

I live the snowman kit and other pattern you sent. The wallet is just beautiful! I have never seen a wallet that looks so professionally done. As well as the pouches. Our girls say I am a “bag lady” so you made a hit with the ones you sent!
I appreciate the magazines, spent last night looking through them, the candy will be enjoyed later on. You sent so many great things, oh the socks with sewing motifs are precious. My feet get cold, so I will be wearing them out!

I love everything you sent, I’m sure I’m forgetting something, if you took a picture, please feel free to post it. I haven’t learned how to do that from my IPad.

Thank you again Cheri. Happy Quilting everyone!!

Cheri_J 07-10-2019 04:05 AM

I am so glad you like everything! LOL. I was trying to find you too! :)

Cuppy thank you for the lovely package. I have not seen metal labels for quilts before. All the fabrics are wonderful. Especially the leaf fabric.

Wow! Opened my last package today. Here are my goodies: my favorite tea, a triangle ruler for a current project and a variety of black and white fabrics in yardage to be worked into my b/w quilts. Thank you so much Queenbarbiej.

I received a wonderful package from Miz Melly today. She sent me a large bag of selvages that she cut, as my most wanted item. I use them to make zippered selvage pouches. She also sent me cutter blades, a wonderful baggage tag, a beautiful mug rug, a marking pencil, scentless laundry wash, a set of round plastic templates, lovely cherry fabrics, and a sweet card!

Many, many thanks!

MizMelly 07-10-2019 03:45 PM

You are so welcome Gaijin!! And it's a real joy to make up a package of goodies for a fellow quilter. Happy sewing!

Annaquilts 07-11-2019 03:25 PM

I just got my secret pal's goodies in the mail and now I am making something for her. Just because.

CarolinePaj 07-12-2019 10:28 AM

Hi Guys,

To my Secret Pal..... I have mailed your package and I just found the note that I should have popped in with it. So, when you receive a package from England without a note.... please know that.... I did write a note, that I hope you like what I have sent you and that I am not rude... just forgetful - LOL LOL LOL.

Hugs

Caroline
