Lynnie, I am so sorry that your corneal transplant is not working out so well. I will be praying for you. |
Hi abonda.... Love your pie slices! How cute they are.
Hi lynnie .... BLess your heart! I am so sorry to hear this troubling news. Will they re-do the surgery?

Sorting thru my scrap bins to make my coffee pot and tea cups. I have some pretty florals that will be so nice for them. Have to dig extra hard to find that silver fabric I had for my silverware. I know it is somewhere, but where.
LOL I know what you mean quiltermomma! I need to go on a fabric starvation diet for a while and use what I have too. But, I was in two quilt stores today and HAD to buy a couple things... LOL!
I am sure you needed them RedGarnet. ROFL
No but I really needed that cute irish table runner pattern for a gal that has me commissioned to make one for the silent auction! I was thrilled to find it! I also needed the machine quilting pins and the plastic clip on thingies too. Anything larger than a lap quilt and I was having to pin the inside and then move them to the outside when I was done with the center. What a pain! But, you are right, I really didn't need the fabric I got. It was kinda like it called to me.... LOL!
Sometimes that fabric yells so loud, what can you do but put it out of its misery right? I taught at the LQS on Saturday and needed a border fabric and found some on sale with an additional 20%, well had to buy it and now can finish another UFO project. All is useful.
Dang! I am gonna let you buy my fabrics with those kind of prices! LOL! We just bought 20 yards for backing for the charity quilts and 3 queen battings. It sure takes bite out of my quilting pocketbook. But, well worth it.
I'm still hoping to do this one, and will let you know for sure ASAP. What's that saying ... "I'm as busy as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs" ... or something like that. ;)

That would be great moonrise! Is robert joining too?

Two sets finished, and a third set started. Maybe I can make a fourth set as well. I'm glad the embroidery machine can run semi-unattended, 'cuz I made a doll quilt at the same time I was embroidering! LOL! :D
Oh how fun! Please show and tell when you get a chance moonrise!
Will do! I didn't get to work on anything last night. We had some nasty storms come through. DH was at work, and all the vehicles in the parking lot got hammered by golfball-size hail. He'll be contacting the insurance company this morning. Fun, fun, fun. I was at home by myself, and it got pretty bad here too, but there was no significant damage. I pretty much hid in the bathroom all night. :p On the good side, when I had to "go", I was already there! :D Hopefully I can work on my blocks again early next week.
I am just glad that you are ok moonrise! That was some nasty storms that went through your area. I have relatives in chattanooga and very very near the kentucky worst hit areas. Thank the lord that there hasn't been anyone in my family hit so far.
Take good care... You hear? |
Looking forward to this one!!!!
Welcome to the swap Sewmomma! Looking forward to seeing your blocks.

Four sets done! I just need to iron them and square them up. I'll post pics as soon as I can.
The insurance company totaled Robert's truck. There was just too much damage to feasibly repair. I'm not sure yet if we're going to just take book value on it and replace it completely, or "buy it back" as salvage from the insurance company, repair the side mirrors (miraculously the only critical things that were damaged), and use the rest of the money to buy a second vehicle, which we badly need. It all depends on if they'll still let us insure it for collision and injuries, in case (heaven forbid) there's an accident in the future. Not sure how all that works. We've got a call in to the insurance agent, though, to discuss it. So far they've been very helpful. :) |

Here we go. :) Pardon the wrinkles. I haven't ironed them or squared them up yet.The pieced blocks with the canning jars are 12-1/2". The others will be 6-1/2" unless I add borders to them (haven't decided yet). I tried to go with a "retro" look.
Oh My Gosh!! Those are so very cute! Great job moonrise!
Oh my moonrise... I am glad you have insurance to pay for the truck. Let us know what happens, ok?
Hey moonrise, my daughter's car was totaled in an accident, we took the money, bought back the car at salvage value, fixed it up because engine was good and used the rest of the money for vacation. it worked out really good for us on that one. On other daugther's car, I was only carrying liability and it was totaled so I have a complete loss and can't do anything about it. Glad you are able to carry full coverage. The title work on the total is all you will have to take care of as far as I know. That is what we did up here in WA state. If the vehicle is in good running condition, body work is no big deal, they just note all the owies on it and you can't claim them on another incident.
Well.. I am taking a break from all the charity sewing and making my kitchen blocks this week.
I chose the rolling pin, a set of canisters and some stacked bowls. I have them all drafted out now to just convert then to individual pieces and transfer them to the light iron on papers. Hopefully I will have something to show and tell soon. That would make up my four sets. |
Hey everyone ...
stitchengramie just joined in the fun! Welcome to the swap! |
welcome! looking forward to seeing everyone's blocks

Here are two more sets of my blocks for the kitchen swap. I just finished them after having company all weekend, I had to wait to finish these... LOL! I am sure everyone knows what I am talking about.
They are (#2) a canister with a rolling pin ( 6 1/2 x 12 1/2) and a (#3) stack of bowls (6 1/2 x 6 1/2). So now I have (#1) the teapots at 12 1/2 x 12 1/2 and these. I am thinking on my last set. I kinda want to do the weighing scale that is pieced as the last set. |
Those look cute. Nice work Red
Thanks! I had fun making them.
Hi moonrise! I got your blocks in the mail today. OMG... They are too cute!
