RedGarnet222 03-16-2012 04:08 PM

Cool I will see what I can do girls! I sure hope more people sign up for our swap. We need more people to make it interesting and to make up for the people making 4 sets. OH DEAR!!

RedGarnet222 03-19-2012 09:10 AM

O M G ... Look at this great link to free (and otherwise) kitchen utinsils ....

http://www.google.com/search?tbm=isc...10l11l0.frgbld.

There is everything imaginable here for the kitchen that could be made into applique!

QuilterMomma 03-19-2012 11:57 AM

So how many so far?

abonda 03-19-2012 05:46 PM

If you dont have enough feel free to pass out mine and give me the rest of mine back I won't be offended as I made 3 sets. But I still think there is some time left... When is the deadline?

moonrise 03-19-2012 06:35 PM

If there's not enough people, it's okay if I get some of my own blocks back. Except for one extra mixer, I didn't make any for myself. :o

stitchengramie 03-20-2012 01:05 AM

Are we suppose to make four sets of blocks for each block size?

RedGarnet222 03-20-2012 08:58 AM

Hi stitchengramie,
You can make as few or as many sets as you wish of each size or all one size.

Typically, the one set are six blocks are all the same in size and look exactly the same with the fabrics. But, as long as they are the same size, you can mix the blocks to make a set. Does this make any sense?

It is up to you. That is what this swap is all about. So open to your creativness. LOL! I have a set of 9 1/2 x 12 1/2 going on right now, and a set of 12 1/2 x 12 1/2's and the teapots are 9 1/2 x 9 1/2.

QuilterMomma 03-28-2012 10:25 AM

We must all be so busy working on our blocks or those who actually have some spring weather are outside working in the yard. So my spoon and fork set are going to be stitching out while I am busy working on cutting out the tea cups and coffee pots, and coffee cups. I think i just have to throw in some additional fabric of vegetables so will be stopping and LQS Tursday pm, before tax meeting, to buy some and make a couple of vegetable blocks. I am making some potholders to match my blocks so will make my kitchen look a bit more matchy matchy. I am hoping to get enough blocks to make a table runner and wall hanging to go with my pot holders.

RedGarnet222 03-28-2012 12:19 PM

Oh gee this sounds too cute quiltermomma! I hope you show us what it looks like when you are finished.

QuilterMomma 03-28-2012 12:21 PM

That all depends on the camera charger. It is not wanting to charge my battery for the camera. Not sure what is going on. But will show you photos one way or another. Camera phone works somewhat.

stitchengramie 03-31-2012 04:01 AM

I am also making teapots, teacups, coffee cups and coffee pots. I am also going to try and make some cookie jars except I cannot find a pattern for a cookie jar.

QuilterMomma 03-31-2012 08:04 AM

Check out maybe some coloring books. They might have sum. Or Winnie the Pooh honey jar may bork for a cookie jar?

My silverware now has colors. My husband said that the standard "silver" should have some color like blue, red, and orange. So there is going to be some of those. They do look cute. They are almost done. If camera cooperates with this computer, will show some photos as long as the battery holds up.

QuilterMomma 03-31-2012 09:06 AM

One design done

How about these spoons, they are just so the bomb. I have them in silver, blue, and red also. I may throw in a pink or brown, what do you want? I am having to much fun. Good thing I can't make 12 of these little guys. I would have silverware everywhere. They would all be different now......

RedGarnet222 03-31-2012 09:27 AM

Oh my gosh!! These are so cute!

I know, I hope I can do enough colors to match different colored kitchens. Pink ought to be fun.

QuilterMomma 03-31-2012 09:43 AM

Ok, it just came to me and I think a pink and teal to match the retro appliances. This way those blocks can be swapped together.

RedGarnet222 03-31-2012 01:20 PM

Now you have your thinking cap on quiltermomma! LOL! I love that idea.

Thanks for the link. I saw a really cute idea I think I might use.

QuilterMomma 04-02-2012 08:39 AM

I have these blocks done Whew. Did the silverware pair, herb in different designs, coffee cups, and a Strawberry Preserve design with strawberry fabric to match. I got going on these and so wanted to do more. All the herbs are different and the silverware are in different colors as well. The only same one is the strawberry design. All six the same. Have more I want to do, but limit is only 4 sets of six.

Here are my blocks coming your way with the other swap. I have to finish sewing the borders on the strawberry preserve so will be 12.5". The design was just a bit larger than 6.5 and so sized up to make fit nicely. I really enjoyed this swap. Once I got started, went so fast. Should have finished the other swap first instead, but this one was more fun I think. Anyway, all the herbs are different so you can split them out easier. I know you saw the utensils already. The background is 100% Kona Cotton and prewashed. I thought would be better than a white background and wanted the designs to show better than with a colored background. If I need to do more of the herbs, let me know. I could do another four sets if needed just because is so much fun. I could not find in town any raspberry fabric or grape fabrics so could not do the preserve motifs for those.

RedGarnet222 04-09-2012 02:16 PM

OMG These are great quiltermomma!

abonda 04-09-2012 05:28 PM
