Susan what a great pincushion and pins and I hope your family are ok. Karen you do such good work. It was 5 degrees when I had to shovel my whole driveway this morning at 6 o'clock. And now it's warmed up to a hot 12. It's going to be 50 tomorrow so I hope all this crappy snow melts. I didn't have much snow before yesterday and now it looks like the middle of winter. I knew what she had when she went to the ER and I told them what it was. It was cellulitis and she had it last year too. When she was in the nursing home she came home with (they called them) wounds from laying in the bed so much and that was the place where the swelling was. So she's ok and I'm sure she'll be waiting for her ride no matter how cold it is. I'm just exhausted. I hope everyone has a great day.

Karen thank you for the information. I have not done any trapunto yet, but I have watched it done on tv. and it is so pretty. I want to try some soon. Those stones are pretty. That is the way to buy the candy too. My dh likes the smarties in those little long packs, and found some of those after Valentine's Day with a great deal on them. After Easter it will be a good time to look for all the little chocolate eggs etc.

nhnative I just hate to hear of you having to do more shoveling. Bless your heart. I hope you get rest soon. Being so tired, and you have not felt good. You need a long rest. My dh had to go to the hospital several years ago due to cellulitis. He has severe type 2 diabetes with weeping leg ulcers. It was a scary time. Now he wears the mens support hose which help his legs so much. One of my sisters use to work in a nursing home, and told me about how bad some sores can get from the patient laying for long periods, and that they turn them a lot for that reason.

Well, my packages will go out today.

Everyone have a great day resting, sewing, or whatever makes you happy. :)

Lynnie you are one day closer to your exciting cruise.

Pat I am so impressed with how much you do. I am not surprised you are exhausted! I sometimes get worn out just reading about how much you have on your plate. Tomorrow should be a decent day, thank goodness since I have a million errands to get caught up on and dad has a dr appointment. I rescheduled it from yesterday so he wouldn't have to go out in the snow and ice. I am not stable enough to hold him up if he slips so we don't go anywhere together unless it is dry. Fortunately his doctor got him signed up for a handicapped placard for when we go out.

I think I do more now than when I was working. I should remind my DS that I didn't move to Ohio to be a babysitter. I think that he thinks that I'm always available. Sad thing is that that is probably true now. It was a little cold today so she only got a 2 hour ride. Tomorrow when it's 50 I'll do my shopping. I could have gotten a handicap place but the only place she goes in is to the dr and they have valet parking. I can't believe I was out in that bad weather yesterday. Once it gets hot I don't know what I'm going to do. She can stay in the car when it's cold out so I can run in and get stuff but when it's hot I can't leave her in the car or leave her alone in the house.

Everyone is so busy. Pat, I feel so bad for you with all this terrible weather. Spring is coming...at least that's what they tell me.
No new Pincushion here yet, and I guess my partner didn't get her's yet. it's a week late, again.
went to jaonns today, everything was on sale, so I couldn't use my 50% off. dontcha just hate that???
bought more aquas for my log cabin, anything left over will go into a jellyroll quilt i'm using 2" strips and this quilt will be at a minimum 120" x 120".My bed is really high, I need a step stool to get into it.
hope everyone is doing o.k. today. looking forward to more pictures.

At least tomorrow is going to be 50 and I hope all the snow melts. I'm planning to go to JoAnn's tomorrow and maybe Hobby Lobby. I always have a lot of coupons and don't get to use them as usually everything is on sale.

That is so frustrating to not be able to use the coupons. I remember back in the day when you could choose whichever was cheaper, the sale or the coupon. I received a package today from the monthly secret pal swap, and my partner sent me a pincushion and a needlecase!

Is it me or is there not many showing their pin cushions and needle cases this month? Seems like only a very few of us on here this month. hummm.....Maybe it is still just to early.

lauriejo 03-13-2014 04:47 PM

I think it is too early Mary. The shipping deadline isn't until next Friday. I hope that's all it is and it's not that they all left town!
