March 2021 to May 2021 Table Runner Swap

Welcome to the restart of our ongoing Table Runner Swap! This swap will run from 1st March 2021 to the 31st May 2021.

You have until the 31st May 2021 to make a table runner - the theme this time is………..... A Splash of Red. This means that there has to be a bit of red…… anywhere in your runner. It could be a whole lot of red or just a 1” square…. There just has to be a bit of red included somewhere in the runner!

The table runner should be a minimum of 12” x 30”.
You can use any technique/any style.
All fabrics used should be 100% cotton.
The runner must have wadding and be quilted.

Sign Up list

There is no deadline so you can sign up at any time during the 3 months as this will be just an intention to participate. When you have made and are ready to mail your runner you can then sign up to the “ready to mail” list which is binding commitment.

But please remember that the only lists that counts is the Ready to Mail lists posted at the end of May 2021.

Ready to Mail list

The first Ready to Mail lists will be posted around 26th October 2020 (and will continually be updated) if you are not on this list and think you should be, please contact me asap and let me know - if you are not on the list you will not get an address to send to. The final list will be posted on the 31st May 2021.

Midnight on the 31st May 2021 is the deadline to get on the “Ready to Mail” list. If you want to take part, I will need the following:-

Real name
Your address
Whether you are willing to send international or not (Please consider this as it enables everybody to take part)
Allergy info
Pet and smoking information
Email address

As long as you have a table runner ready to mail you can join the ready to mail list by letting me know any time before the deadline.

Addresses Sent Out:

I will send out the name and address of the person you should send to on the 1st or 2nd June 2021. You will have 7 days to get your table runner in the mail - No Longer. If you are unable to keep this commitment - please do not sign up.

This is not a partner swap. You will send your table runner to the quilter who's address you get. You will receive from a different quilter than the one you send to.

Please remember that there are quilters of all abilities on this board and you should appreciate the table runner you receive as your sender will have worked hard to make it for you.

You are welcome to send some goodies in your package if you would care to, but please don't expect anything other than the table runner.

Please Note.... You must let me know when you mail and when you receive. Also, please PM the person that sends to you when you receive to say thank you and to let them know that the table runner that they have sent you has arrived - it is only polite to do so! And please remember that there are still delays with the postal services around the world so your runner may take some time to get to you!

So come and join our fun.

Hugs

Caroline

RevPam 02-27-2021 05:34 AM

Help! I can't figure out why my private message with my information does not go through. What am I doing wrong? I want to participate.

RevPam 02-28-2021 10:55 AM

Did you get my message?

RevPam

m-fay 02-28-2021 09:05 PM

Revpam go to carolinepaj post 1 and tap on her avatar. Her profile will come up and a " send message" on a blue strip. Tap on that and write your message

ekuw 03-01-2021 11:01 AM

The theme "touch of red" is serendipitous. I made a bunch of blocks last month and they just happen to have red in them. Have not done anything with them yet so will have to put them in a runner format :-)

CarolinePaj 03-02-2021 06:00 AM

Hi Ladies,

Marion, Elizabeth, Rosalyn, Beverly and Pam... you are all on the list! Lovely to have you here with us again.

This is my red work runner . The pattern uses embroidery machine work , but I had to do my own work for the three centre squares

m-fay 03-17-2021 03:17 AM

Looking beautiful rsea

Northern Sue 03-23-2021 06:28 AM

Oh my gosh! I didn't get any notifications about the swap running again! I just happened to respond to someone's question today on Quilting Board and thought I'd check while I was here! I am definitely going to do my best to participate - I've missed everyone!
We have sold our house, closing date May 31st, but still haven't found our next home - hopefully I will have an address to share by the end date! :)
Red ... red ... hmm so many ideas rumbling around in my head! I may never get my house packed up! :)

m-fay 03-24-2021 03:18 PM

You'll get there Sue. A new house! How exciting. New town too?

Annaquilts 03-25-2021 06:49 AM

I still hope to join again. Great seeing everyone!

Moving - yes we are moving south to be closer to our sons & their families. We miss the grandkids so much with all the lockdowns of COVID. Kids change so quickly - you turn around, and they've grown up! :) So we will be about 500 miles or so from where we are now. I will miss friends/neighbours here but not 6 months of winter - these bones are getting too old for that nonsense!

I'm loving the theme for this swap - made me think of so many things we could do with "A taste of ....". So I'm going to share my scattered thoughts and see what everyone else comes up with too! So here I go:
1. A taste of peace
2. A taste of sass
3. A taste of abstract
4. A taste of something new to you
5. A taste of spring (and all the other seasons, or holidays etc)
6. A taste of mystical (your interpretation)
7. A taste of funny

See? I'm not getting anything done at all! I just keep thinking of more! What comes to your mind?

And here is my Red Panda, from the Aurifil 2021 Colour Builders Series: Endangered Species

CarolinePaj 03-25-2021 01:20 PM

Sue,

That panda is gorgeous.... where will you be moving to?

Hugs

Caroline

Northern Sue 03-25-2021 04:38 PM

Thanks Caroline! Where am I moving to? That specific address/town/county is still unknown as we haven't found a house! lol We are in North Eastern Ontario and will be moving to the southern portion of the province. That 9 hour drive to go see the kids or to go to the cottage - we're done with that! lol Just hoping I don't give away a bunch of stuff that I will actually have room for in our new home! Key criteria now is - a room that Moxie will fit in! :)

m-fay 03-26-2021 05:26 PM

So exciting Sue.i like the idea of "a taste of...." lots of possibilities

R-sea 03-29-2021 01:06 AM

I don't envy you Northern Sue . You will have to become Southern Sue now . Hope you find the home you will love

Blueridgebeverly 03-29-2021 02:36 AM

Sue, yea! for being closer to family.

Love your taste of ..... list.

A taste of .......adventure
A taste of .......mystery
A taste of .......change
A taste of .......history
A taste of .......humor

all found on my Kindle.

Northern Sue 03-29-2021 04:27 PM

You will not believe this everyone! We found a house on Friday and our offer was accepted Saturday! I am so excited! It has almost every thing we were looking for; has room for Moxie! lol and doesn't need a ton of work before moving in! It will be so much easier now, to decide what to take, what to discard etc. I completely dislike yard sales, so I just donate stuff to what is called the Friendly Warehouse here. They can always donations & also run the local food bank! What a relief!!!

Blueridgebeverly 03-29-2021 05:09 PM

Sue, congratulations! So exciting!

Annaquilts 03-29-2021 08:59 PM

So happy for you Sue! Congratulations.

Annaquilts 03-29-2021 09:00 PM

The runner is coming along nicely, lots of red geese with a grey sky.

RevPam 03-30-2021 02:49 AM

Northern Sue,
How exciting! I need a move just to hoe out the years of accumulation! Best of luck in your new 'nest.'

m-fay 03-30-2021 04:41 PM

So excited for you Sunny Southern Sue

Northern Sue 04-01-2021 07:37 AM

lol Sunny Southern Sue - I like that!
We are back to winter here at the moment - minus 14 celsius! and we had more snow! But ..... my last winter in the north, so I'm still smiling!
I love the growing list of "a taste of ... ". It's a rabbit hole isn't it? :)

I have pulled fabric & a pattern for the next runner, so now I just have to buckle down & do it! Just finished the March block of the Aurifil project - the sea turtle, so will try to post a pic later today.
Lots of time to sew, as we are going back into lockdown Saturday! (sigh) Stay safe everyone!

Annaquilts 04-13-2021 05:29 AM

The runner is done, a sea of cool greys with red geese, and I signed up for the ready to send list.

m-fay 04-13-2021 04:47 PM

I just have to hand sew the binding on mine and it's done too. I love this theme...
a touch of ???

Don't tell anyone - but I think spring might be here! The robins are having a feast on all the worms leaving holes in my lawn! lol

Packing is sporadic - would rather sew!!!!! :) I love how this runner with "a taste of ... red" has come together! Ready to be quilted today and then binding it is! I just have to be sure I don't inadvertently pack it in my "few" containers of sewing stuff. I might need a moving van just for the sewing room(s)! https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/eek.png

Forgot to post the March Endangered Species block of the sea turtle. So here he is! If somewhere in here, I DID post - sorry!

Ok it's time to quilt this runner! I haven't started the April block yet, so I did need a boot in the butt!

Your turtle is awesome, Sue.

Glad to hear the packing is going well.

Yea for Spring arriving. I think it’s time to get out my hummingbird feeder.
