Who's blocks are they Mona? I recognize Lstew's stars in the second one, but who owns the first?

They are pretty!

Mona G 01-28-2017 10:49 AM

sorry about that I forget that the names don't stay on the photo when I save them.. Quiltermomma is the first one

bootsy 01-28-2017 10:51 AM

Hi Kass
Just a word of encouragement. I have had cancer twice the last time in 2014 and I am still here. Chemo is absolutely the worst but it is so needed. I can relate to the ups and downs BIL is going through. Dont think the worst as cancer survival rate is up. Keep the faith.

sewbizgirl 01-28-2017 11:05 AM

Hi Bootsy,
It's Teriamn who's BIL is going through cancer treatment. So glad you beat it! Pray you stay healthy....

I don't see anything wrong with my blocks, they are perfect.

Welllll, let's call it plan B since I didn't follow the directions correctly and didn't have enough fabric to fix it. I think it turned out pretty good, just not what I had planned.

All2Pieces 01-28-2017 04:37 PM

Everyone - THANK YOU for such wonderful blocks! They are all so very interesting.
Mona G - *chuckles* Plan B is a very good name for a lot of the blocks I sew.

joanelizbay 01-28-2017 05:13 PM

Sew they are both beautiful!! Thank you!!

Joan

Last one for the night... another hashtag for Teriamn's grandson. I love these blocks! So easy and so graphic and modern... Great for kids.

The background color photographed untrue... it's actually the very same yellow as in the print.

terriamn 01-28-2017 09:55 PM

Mona thanks for the great block, I don't have any problem with it all

sewbiz thanks for the hashtag block is the yellow gold a grunge fabric?

No, but it's similar. I've had it since way before "grunge" was a thing, LOL. :D

terriamn 01-28-2017 10:25 PM

It looks great with the fabric, thanks so much.

Janice McC 01-29-2017 08:40 AM

I'm back online this am so good morning. Great blocks, everyone! Ive added most of them to the gallery. More later!

sewbizgirl 01-29-2017 09:25 AM

Hi Janice... was looking at our beautiful blocks in the gallery and found a mistake. Libster's flower basket block was not made by me.

The gallery is filling up and looks awesome! It's great to be able to see all the other blocks made for each of the quilts before we decide what make, ourselves. Thanks!

Janice McC 01-29-2017 09:41 AM

Oops. I'll fix that shortly. Thanks for letting me know. :)

I have a problem. I ordered a bolt of white on white fabric. When I got it I thought, hmmmm thats not very "white" now when Im making blocks Im wondering if its more of an ivory...Or maybe its just the way its made..Would you all consider this a WOW??? I put it next to a bright white WOW and not sure it shows too well in the photo. I sure dont want to use it as WOW and have someone say I didnt follow color request. I paid for WOW...but Im not sure thats what I got!! HELP!!

Janice McC 01-29-2017 10:48 AM

Well, Joanelizbay, I do see the difference in the "whites" but there is more than one shade of white. I already put enough pressure on you all to follow requests that regulating a specific shade of white is just not something I'm going to do. If anyone has any issues with it, I suggest they speak up since Joanelizbay is asking! Boomers? What say you?

Hi
I have some blocks done but dont know how to get them posted for you to see. Can you tell me how to do this? I am looking at all the blocks you did and they are beautiful. I would like to post mine also for all to see.

Bootsy, it varies a little bit depending upon your browser but basically, when you open up the box to "reply to thread" or "quick reply", you'll see a small icon with a tree at the right side of the bar above where you type. For me, it's the third icon from the right but it may be in a different spot for you. Anyway, find the little icon, click on it, and a box will come up saying "insert image". It gives the option of using an image from your computer or from a URL. If the picture is on your computer, you will click on that tab. Then you'll see "choose file" and that's where a window will open for you to then find and select the picture you want to upload. When you've clicked on your photo, click "open" and then "upload file" and it should place the picture in the spot where your cursor is in the message. You can type above or below it to add a message. One thing, if the file is too large, the picture will not upload, so make sure your pictures are small, 200kb or less if possible.

Again, this is how i do it with my laptop. Depending upon the computer you use, you may have somewhat different wording or windows but it all starts with that little tree icon. In the pic below, you will see it is the third icon from the right.

I hope that helps.

Sewbizgirl, I love my block! Thank you so much!

Bootsy, My Quick Reply block doesn't show any icons at all. I'm running Microsoft 10 with Edge Browser. Here's how I attach my blocks.
1-When I upload my pictures to my laptop, I crop them and then open them in my Paint program. Then I click on resize and make them 25%. Click on "File " and save them. At this time I delete the original.
2-Close Paint and go online to the forum.
3-Open the thread that you want to post in.
4-On the "Quick Reply" box, I have NO icons showing. At the bottom of this box, click on the blue "Go Advanced".
5-Scroll down to the "Additional Options" box. Click on the blue "Manage Attachments".
6-On the right side screen, click Browse.
7- When pictures open, scroll down to the one you want and click on it. Then click "Open" at the bottom. Click on "Upload" at top of screen.
8-When finished uploading, close the right side screen.

Now under "Manage Attachments", you should have a file url and it's size showing in the little box.
You're ready to post it.
