I love the fireworks materials, hope some of them come my way. i have 3 sets in the works now, and hope to finish more before the deadline. I keep repeating it, but this is so much fun. I don't want to get ahead because you said there would be some changes in the future. getting excited to see what comes for the valentine exchange.

Getting ready to cut and sew, and yes I was about to use the wrong white. I was cutting some Kona 10 inch squares that said White Colorstay, and said why not just cut the white yardage thinking it would be faster. Well the 2 whites were different. So I'm going to use just the white yardage. I need to know if the bottom two fabrics qualify. I know the top two is okay, but before I go shopping I would like to use the others if they work. The star fabric (bottom left) with a predominant white background is the only one I think might not work. Too much white, I'm afraid. The others are great.

Thanks Jane. Ugh now after not being able to sleep this am, I woke up and started cutting/sewing. After 40 mins I realized I didn't put my needle back to 4.5. Now have to go rip all those seams.

Do you have planned out what April will be? Don't have enough patriotic to do March (don't want to buy any extra). I have soooo many other projects going on that I need to complete. I do love scrappy!
Might be able to do April….

Sorry, I can't participater in April either. I don't have but 1 civil war & I'm on a "no more fabric'" diet. The civil war fab seems a little too pricy for me, so need to spend that $ on ones I really can use… But I really like this pattern, so I'll try to make some on my own. Using black would really make other colors pop...

FYI info: My plain white material finally came in and I have the material washed. Next week I will be washing my patriot material and start cutting and sewing the blocks. I figure it will take me 2 weeks to make all of my blocks.

I have a question.
The original 4 patch is made of four 5 inch unfinished squares?
So when those are sewn together they will make a 9 1/2 inch four patch which is cut up and then resewn to make an 8 1/2 inch block? I just want to make sure before I start cutting.

Anyone still working on these blocks are does everyone have them in already? I am in the middle of making my 4 sq patches.

I'm still working on mine - cut them, but had to put aside to finish something else. Hope to get to them soon!!

Glad to hear I am not the only one. I hope to get to them later this afternoon. After they are done I might see if I have most of the fabrics to do either the CW or later on the Oriental swap.

I'm still working on mine. I have 2 swaps due this next week and will be working on them this week and next. I have the white fabric washed. I need to pick 5 more fabrics for this swap. Then it's sew, sew, sew time. I'll keep you all posted. Happy sewing everyone!!!
