MAY ASIAN INSPIRED DISAPPEARING FOUR PATCH swap
MAY ASIAN INSPIRED DISAPPEARING FOUR PATCH swap - Sign-ups are open until I have a maximum of 25 swappers. Each month is loads of fun with a wide variety of fabrics in each swap. Sew much fun!
Heres how it works: we will be making 8 ฝ unfinished D4P Block quilt blocks. One set equals 6 D4P blocks. You may make as many as 6 sets of 6 blocks each which would be 36 D4P blocks. Wow! Thats a lot of quilt blocks. Imagine how cool that quilt will be??? I know! Right??? Mix it up and use a variety as long as you stay within the theme for the month. You could make 36 blocks each with different fabrics! Wow!!! The more variety the better. That would make a wonderful swap, wouldnt it? Mays theme is ASIAN INSPIRED prints. Please use one ASIAN print with a solid black for each block. In case youve never made a D4P quilt block, here are the instructions: http://sewwonderful.blogspot.com/201...o-9-patch.html Please use 100% cotton, quilt quality fabric to make your quilt blocks. Please pay attention to the back of your quilt blocks; pressing, snipping extra threads, etc. Be sure your quilt blocks are squared up, trimmed and even. Please PM me to sign up. Please provide: QB screen name Real name Number of sets you are making/sending Email address Phone number After I have received all of your information I will add you to the list of swappers and PM you a message with mailing information. BE SURE to include the USPS envelope WITH POSTAGE, filled out with your mailing information, in your package to me. Set(s) of D4P quilt blocks will be due by JUNE 30TH. ** Please label your quilt blocks** Mailing: please put blocks in a large plastic baggie along with your name and address on/in the bag. This will help protect your blocks in case your package is damaged. Please use a USPS Priority Mailฎ Padded Flat Rate Envelope (9 ฝ x 12 ฝ), buy $5.95 in POSTAGE, put postage on your return envelope and fill out your name/address etc. This will be your return envelope so be sure to put this in your package as well! Basic swap rules may be found here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-20154-1.htm |

I am in for 6 sets.
OK, I'd like to join in. Now I can use some of the Asian fabrics I've been collecting! Jane, I'll PM you.
This is so exciting!!! We have several swappers signed up - some wonderful 'regulars' ((love you guys!)) and some new people. I'll update our list soon. Great to see everyone!
Just to reiterate: please send a variety. The sets do not need to be a matched set. If you wanted to, you could send 36 different blocks. How fabulous would that be??? ((It took me awhile to figure that one out - - - LOL)) Please post pictures! We love pictures! Jane |
OK. Here's what I have so far. If I missed anyone please let me know. Will add sets as we click along. It's all good!
So exciting!!! Jane |
So happy to see so many swappers!!! Unfortunately I had mine done before it was announced that all could be different so my sets are all alike.
Me too Cro, but for me it's easier to do it that way....especially on the ones I have to find and buy fabric for. Now I even have all the tone on tones for each set. Great borders and or binding I hope. I'm sure I'll find something to use it on :)
Jaba I also have to buy all mine as I don't have a stash.
Will go thru my stash to see if I have any Asian inspired fabric or if I can find some locally. Will let you know soon.

They look right to me, Jaba. Your Asian blocks are beautiful too!
Jane |
Thanks, that was a fast reply:) Will get them in the mail today or tomorrow. Any hint of what you have in mind for "scrappy"???
Jaba all your blocks are wonderful but I am totally confused by the ones that have skinny strips that are neither pink or brown or do they just read black. I haven't started this set as I just got the last of my Asian fabric.

Oh my goodness! I have fallen in love again! This time with the CCC blocks. Thanks to Jane and Jaba I was finally able to get how to piece, cut and rearrange the blocks. I'm not into the flow of doing them yet, as they seem to take me a little longer to complete. But the ones I did I put on the design wall and they are delicious. I hope we get a big turnout for these. I will send three months worth of blocks with three return stamped envelopes ASAP.
Perfect QLG, works for me:) Glad you got them Jane, sorry you have to hold them at your house, but when they're done I just have to get them out of here. So afraid I'll put them somewhere and forget to mail. OMG old age (67) has got to be setting in, sometimes I forget what day it is......
Oh heck Jaba , I am nine years older than you. Come to think of it, I do like to get them done and out also.
I'm so glad that I'm not alone and have a little company "QLG" makes me feel better!! :)
