May 2021 Pincushion Swap
 

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the May 2021 Pincushion Swap.

You must be signed up by the 31st May 2021 as partners names will be sent out between 1st and 2nd June 2021. You must have mailed by the 8th June 2021. This is a hard and fast deadline - no excuses. You must also please let me know via private message when you mail and when you receive... this is so I can make sure that everybody receives a pincushion.

This is a personal choice swap so you can make any type of pincushion that you would like to.

Before signing up, please read the rules below:

Rules

As with all swaps there must be rules so here are ours!

1. This is a secret swap.
2. This is not a partnered swap so you may not receive from the person you send to.
3. Everybody on the board is welcome to take part.
4. This will be a bi-monthly swap (6 in a year) – you only take part in the months that you sign up for.
5. If you commit to taking part you must send out a pincushion… no excuses!
6. If you encounter a problem or issue, you must let me know immediately; there is nothing that cannot be sorted and re-organised if you communicate.
7. You are only committed to send a pincushion…. You may, if you wish send other items, but please do not expect to receive anything more than a pincushion.
8. Be kind to the person you receive from… we are all at different levels of experience on this board and we need to encourage each other… so if you receive an item from a less experienced stitcher - just appreciate the time and love that has been put into making it.
9. You must mail your item by the deadline above... no excuses.
10. You must let me know when you send and when you receive. This allows me to keep track of things and ensures that everybody receives a pincushion
11. The main rule is to have fun making and receiving some lovely creations.

Sign-ups will start now and close on the 31st May 2021 for this round.

When signing up, please let me know if you have a nut allergy as some people fill their pincushions with walnut shells. Also please let me know if you are willing to mail internationally (please consider this as it allows everyone to participate in the swap).

I posted mine out today

Hi Ladies. I am in a bit of a pickle. I think something is wrong with the address that I received. I messaged Caroline on Monday and then my swap buddy on Tuesday. I have not mailed yet because I have not gotten a response. I think the address is either missing the street name or the town name. It just looks like something is missing. Didn't want to be late sending but also want to make sure I am sending it to the correct destination. Hope to hear soon.

I received my wise old owl pincushion from Alvastitcher yesterday, along with some lovely fabric, machine needles and a sweet handmade card. Thank you, Karen, I love him so much!

I received a message from my swap friend with the correct address and mine went out in the mail today!

Yesterday I received a beautifulincushion, fabric basket and a fat qtr. of fabric but do not know who sent them to me. No name on return address. 😕. I love them all. I’ll try to post a picture here. A big thank you!

oh I love that cheesecake! I just checked tracking on the PC I posted and it has arrived in its designated country so it may arrive soon.

I mailed my pincushion out last Saturday, I am hoping it arrives at its international destination soon!

This was waiting for me when I got home from work! Marion, I was hoping to receive one of your beautiful creations someday. I adore it. We have bunnies in the field next to our house! It makes me smile and I love connecting with faraway sisters. The little coaster is so creative. I have not seen anything like it. It’s coming camping with me this weekend in our motorhome. I chuckled when I saw the fabric. I am originally a California girl and grew up at the beach with Woodies and VW vans. So fun to think of your beaches too. Many thanks.

So glad its arrived at your place Connie..Im glad you like travelling and camping too. I'm currently traveling around my beautiful state of Western Australia and am in the far north now in the town of Derby. I have a toyota hiace that was a mini bus but was converted to a campervan before I bought it. Before that we (Jed and I and our little dog, Meg, had a camper Jed built on the back of a Holden rodeo. It was the best but too heavy for me to handle on my own, so now its just Meg and me in the campervan and our Guardian Angel watching over us.
