I love all the new blocks, the house and trees block is fantastic, you really thought outside the block on that one, great job. and I love the pinwheel. Dottie your quilt is going to be gorgeous. I love the r/w/black quilt, that's what I am working on from this swap. |
That would work if the quilt was NOT going to be washed - get it wet in the washer and then drying it would shrink it back to size and make a lumpy block/.

Sorry - you could make pillows to match the quilt or sash them for a wall hanging. Also, just wondering, did you try getting it very wet and pinning it out to the 12 1/2" you need. Others on the board have mentioned this. It helps if you have one of those two sided portable cutting boards with fabric on the back. You could always use masking tape on your carpet or ironing board. You could use the inside border of the masking tape as the 12 1/2" measurement. Then wet the block and stretch it out to the masking tape. Lots of pins! and let it dry. |

Sorry - you could make pillows to match the quilt or sash them for a wall hanging. Actually if you sewed it in your quilt then when it was quilted it wouldn't shrink Also, just wondering, did you try getting it very wet and pinning it out to the 12 1/2" you need. Please do show us the top when finished. I know it will be a masterpiece. The blocks are so very pretty.

I have had that problem and I added 1/2" of like fabric all around and then trimed the block using 121/2" square-up ruler. the extra fabric is hidden in the seam allowance so no one knows the difference.
