This is a continuation of the previous Monthly Quilting Bee Block Swap. If you have already signed up under the old verson, you are still signed up for the new one. All rules remain the same -

Each month, you will make one block for an assigned partner who will make you one in return.

****
1. You will receive a swap pal name and address along with the color scheme or theme of their quilt.

2. You will have ONE month to make one block for that person and send it to them. The blocks must be 100% prewashed cotton, 12 1/2" x 12 1/2" unfinished (12" when finally sewn into a quilt). You can make them in any fashion - pieced, appliqued, paper-pieced, embroidered, other methods - as long as you follow your swap partner's specifications to the best of your ability so their project can be unified.

3. Your name will be assigned to someone else who will then do the same for you.

4. At the end of the month all the names will be reassigned. Please send a PM to the hostess prior to the end of the month if you wish to have your name taken off the list.

5. Participants may change their theme if they wish by sending a PM to the hostess.

6. New members may join at any time but may have to wait until the next reassignment of names to receive a partner. ((However, many participants are willing to do extra swaps - so it may be possible to find an interim partner for you)).

PLEASE NOTE: We have several international swap participants, so occasionally your partner may be in another country (which means it will cost slightly more for you to send their block).

Please join the fun - a great chance to make blocks & new friends !

Hey Terri( Quilting Nonnie) Just finished your block. What a Bleep Bleeping time it gave me. It was a lot of fun. LOL really I made it and it said it was a 12" block finished but it wasn't....... so I had to add a small boarder sorry. If you don't like it, I will make you something else. just PM me when you get it. I will send it out in tomorrows mail. This was my second attempt at paper piecing.

MegsAnn 08-03-2010 11:47 PM

LOL abonda that happened to me, too. The PP-ing pattern said it'd be 12 inches... but it was really 11.5. So, yeah, that one got a small border added on.

I received a lovely block from Dannypanny in very pretty patterned fabric - will go beautifully with my new theme.

Oh! congratulations Dannypanny on being the first pic on the new thread. :-D

MadeinMaine 08-04-2010 02:28 AM

Very, very pretty block, Danny. Lucky you, DeeCee :D

sdparent 08-04-2010 03:18 AM

My block is on it's way to Charismah, I hope she likes it. I had the same issues with this pp star, 3rd times a charm, LOL.

I just got back from a long vacation, and had my May, June, and July blocks awaiting me. Thanks to Kendra for the orange maple leaf and extra fabric, to Nancy in Louisiana for the lovely green maple leaf, and to Lab Fairy for the pine cone Klondike Star. I hope the blocks I sent to you are what you wanted!

shaysmema 08-04-2010 12:31 PM

Made my block today for SuzanneTx and it will be in the mail tomorrow.

SuzanneTx 08-04-2010 01:54 PM

Oh my gosh speedy! I'm waiting on some very special fabric to come in for your block. I promise, it will be worth the wait.

shaysmema 08-04-2010 02:14 PM

Not to worry, I just wanted to get it done, while it was fresh in my mind. I tend to get over loaded with project and everytime I see a new one here I want to join. Guess I need a life LOL.

SuzanneTx 08-04-2010 02:41 PM

No, I do the same thing. I'm in about 5 swaps so far, in varying stages of completion.

Cyndi, I posted a picture of your block on the other thread.

Here's a picture of the Klondike Star I sent CyndiH. I used a pattern from Marcia Holm at The Quilter's Cache.

Got to get the copywrite information correct. :-)

bibliostone 08-04-2010 07:13 PM

Very nice Klondike Star!

MadeinMaine 08-05-2010 01:57 AM

Wow, labfairy, that is gorgeous!

lab fairy 08-05-2010 09:18 AM

Her outdoor theme was kind of difficult for me. I wish I knew how to applique. My first thought was I can make a tree...NOT. Lets just say I think I'll take a class. Cyndi ended up with my second ever paper pieced block. I was lucky that I found the pinecone fabric. Still wished I could have figured out how to make a tree. I'm going to have to work on that.

Quilt Mom 08-05-2010 02:40 PM

Wow! You are all so speedy! I spent part of today just figuring what block to make, let alone getting it done. Wish I was as quick as you...

lab fairy 08-05-2010 02:43 PM

I'm not speedy. That was July's block. My partner just received it at the end of the month.

That's one of the many things I love about this swap - it challenges us to try new techniques, explore new patterns, improve our skills along the way, and become each others' inspiration.

mstandridge 08-05-2010 04:40 PM

I just sent my info to join the swap it will be my first time. Can't wait to get my partner for this. Looking forward to some new challenges. Maybe do some thing outside my box. I sometimes feel I only do what I am most comfortable doing. I look at this as a way of expanding my quilting horizon!

Deb watkins 08-05-2010 04:58 PM

How did I miss this thread as being the new one for the swap?? I was still checking out the old one.
