We had so much fun the first time around and so many of you have asked for another one, so here we go! We have been given the go ahead to MUG RUG Swap 2.

Mug rugs are not an exact size, however, they are larger than a coaster and I would say the minimum size would be 5x7. Use your imagination and be creative with them.

You will swap directly with a partner and once assigned you will PM each other to get addresses, etc. You may swap with 2 different people, but 2 will be the max.

Since these little guys are small and quick, I'd like to do a fast turn around time on the swap. Sign up by PM until March 31,2011. Names will be sent out by April 2, 2011 and rugs should be mailed out by April 15, 2011. You will need delivery confirmation on your package.

There are some awesome samples of mug rugs on our board here if you enter mug rug into the search link and there are several cute, free patterns for them online.

Swap is open to quilters of all levels and abilities. Swap is open to anyone. If you can't ship internationally please let me know in a PM.

Since this is my first "Mug Rug" I have a question. Do you sign these things or not...
I made one set and after finishing thought they might be alittle to large 14x8 so I did another set which I think is abt right 9x7...But don't know if they should be labeled?

Is there an "official" pattern/directions?

Main questions: Are they batted? Is there a liner to protect wood ?(guess THAT would have to not melt in the dryer) do they need to be labeled?

I didn't label the ones I sent out last time and the ones I received weren't labeled either...There is no "official" pattern or directions other than what's on the first page of this link and the ones I have made and received have batting.

I have been wanting to make one so I am in for 2. PM sent. I have never swapped before so I hope I do everything correctly. I am going for material this weekend!!!

Just finished putting the binding on my two "mug rugs"...a little hand sewing on the binding and they will be done awaiting partners for mailing. Since these are my first ever "mug rugs" I think they came out nice, hope my swap partners think the same...

It is coming :mrgreen: I decided that I wanted to do the Bargello binding by hand(don't ask why, lol) and I am half way done. It is actually fun, I am enjoying binding it while my hubby is sitting next to me and covered with the quilt :XD: he can't wait until I put it on the bed he says, lol :lol:
I have the others squared up, as soon as I am done with the Bargello, I'll start binding the others...
Of course I am itching to start new things, but must wait until I am all caught up first like a good girl, :thumbup: Oh, I did play with my Bargello scraps to make some toppers for the night stands and some pillows and what not, but that is really all part of the one project you see :P
