MUG RUG SWAP - Sign ups close January 14, 2013

I like making mug rugs and thought this would be a wonderful swap. So here I am jumping in with both feet for my first time hosting a swap.

*This swap is open to all skill levels.

*Please use 100% cotton quality materials for the Mug Rug and make it well constructed to withstand lots of use. Please, please do your best work!!

*SIZE: A minimum of approx 9” x 7” in any fashion or shape. (pieced, appliquéd, paper-pieced, embroidered, knitted, crocheted etc.)

*After the closing date I will send out swap buddies with their information January 17, 2013.

An afterthought -- you ask if we have allergies, have you considered asking if we have in-house pets. I certainly wouldn't want anything I make going to someone with cat allergies! I also put my favourite colours on the form even though you didn't ask -- I'd certainly like to know what colours my recipient likes.

Yes anyone can put their favorite color down. and if someone says they have pet allergies you will not get someone with a pet.

Look at the first post in the thread -- there are examples and at least one tutorial. The TipNut link has the most examples and instructions.

I'm definitely in on this one !!! Wanted to do a mug rug swap for awhile. I'm thinking maybe valentines ?? Thank-you for doing this swap Nelco.

I'm thinking that since I have 10 to do for Christmas, that perhaps an 11th in the same lot won't be a bad thing. I hope my partner likes Hawaiian print fabrics, because unless I run out, that's what they'll probably get!

The only thing is, you're supposed to have it done before you sign up, so we wont know whos getting it till after the swap is closed and we get or swap buddy. Let me think before signing up.

Lynnie..not necessarily. No one is going to know who gets who until they receive their mug rug. This can give them time to sew after the Holidays and they have time to take a deep breath.

Have I misunderstood the swap? I thought we signed up and then after we are given the person's name, we make a mug rug for them using whatever information they provide or we glean by stalking them on the forum? Was I supposed to have one already done before I PM'd Nelco?

Hey, lvbabyboomer and nelco, I was just in your neck of the woods last month. DH bought lots of wood stuff at Woodcraft and I visited the new JoAnn's location the night of their grand opening. We accidently went to Springfield because we got twisted on the Freeways... lol! Loved staying at the Best Western in Eugene. We will be there again sometime. It's on the way to my folks in Medford.
