I'll miss this too, but am going to be scouring the sales throughout the year to pack next year's box as full as I can. It will be fun to see how full I can stuff it for just $20! The older I get, the faster time flies, so the time to sign up for next years SS will be here before I know it.

I've really enjoyed getting to know everyone who posted here and having so much fun being naughty "in the hole". Splashes of coconut rum all around!

ME TOO, I am so thankful to be alive and not stuck in the ditch some place like some of the ladies. OR AT WORK OR SICK IN THE HOSPITAL, OR HAVING A RELATIVE VERY SICK IN THE HOSPITAL. Boy it was a challenge to get on yesterday and to post the pictures of what I rec'd. Can't imagine some of the ladies who don't do the pictures etc and either have no electricity or no camera or dial up. Ready to go again. Loved every minute of this swap. Part of the fun was the joking we all did and had fun doing it.

omacookie 12-09-2013 03:10 PM

Thank you to Terri as a super hostess. This was my first time on SS and did not know that we had to post yesterday. My computer has been acting up so I was on it briefly yesterday morning then had a full day with family. It has taken me much time to read all the posts and seeing all the photos. Sorry, I cannot post photos yet.
Thank YOU to nygal,Celine. had your address on the PACKAGE SO SEnT THANKS THEN. I loved it all especially the hand-made card. hUGS,
Charlene

Yes I reallly enjoyed this swap, and will definitely try to do again next year. I'll start collecting now.

Dedemac 12-09-2013 04:39 PM

Thank you Terri for hosting this swap. I did enjoy it very much, only figured out who my SS was after I received the package but before I opened it. Yes she was quiet on this swap, but I read some of her other posts and understood why. I enjoyed the banter on this posts and all virtual food and drink. I did learn to be more descriptive of my wants on the first form which I was a little vague. I don't think she was able to get online often she may have missed some of my begging. I did get some very nice things and a wonderful table runner. Looking forward to next year.

tlrnhi 12-09-2013 05:16 PM

Ok, everyone! Listen up!
I know that some have mentioned that they haven't heard from their person and there's nothing that can be done about it. They could be busy, their computer could be down, could be a number of things.
INSTEAD of posting negative feelings on the thread, why not PM them and ask them if they enjoyed their package? Also, you can PM the person that sent to you and vice versa a thank you. Sometimes posts get lost with all the pages we have here and some can be overlooked. When that happens, sometimes feelings get hurt that there was no thank you when indeed there was one.
ALSO....if you weren't happy with what you received...KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!!! There is no need for negative comments on the thread for that either. It's listed in the rules, which EVERYONE said they read and would abide by. If you don't think you got what you deserved, there's nothing that can be done. Your person did the best they could.
So, now IF I SEE ANYONE COMMENTING THAT THEIR PACKAGE WAS NOT UP TO PAR, I WILL POST NEGATIVE FEED BACK ON THEM AND I WILL BAN THEM FROM NEXT YEARS SWAP!

All the patterns for Jo-anns. Love them . Thats were I get most of my patterns from and I don't have any of the ones you sent.
The journal, note pad and note cards will really come in handy. going to start my journal with listing all about my secret santa Ann.
And last but not least is the Lovely squares by Debbie Beaves I just love them. my friend cut me I bunch of cream fabric and we are making a quilt with the cream as the background. Now I will have the charm squares to get going after christmas. Can't wait to call her to let her know we can start earlier than I thought we could since you sent me the charms.

I think this is year 5 for me, not sure. Lost track of how long I've been doing this. I have just as much fun as everyone. I really don't ask for anything, but as you all know....Sharonb has to make sure there's something for me too. I'm just wondering what's going to be up her sleeve for next year. lol
Ya'll just really amaze me! Just reading and looking at the photos, makes me want to pluck something from each of you. I see so many nice goodies!

Anyway...start collecting for next year! Now is the time to go and just see what's being put on sale. Grab those free patterns at the stores and just put them in folders. Grab a couple so you have extras. Everyone likes a new pattern.

Ok, I'm off to go and play a game and then to bed. Hubby will be up early since they are calling for snow tonight.

Knitette, I had never seen a Highland cow... so that's what was so hairy, eh? And silly me thought you were shipping a little man across the pond!

At last! Here are the pictures of the wonderful, generous gift I received from Bezzie 2013. Look how HUGE the box was!

In this one you can see the fantastic selection of FQs and cuts - there's enough there for a whole quilt!

And lastly - but certainly not least, the numerous other gifts; sweets (candy), tea bags, stickers, pillowcases, pattern, book, pins, ornament, mug and hand made shopper (which I forgot to put in the picture :o)

Thank you so much - I'm overwhelmed by your generosity. :)

Thank you Teri for hosting this, my first SS. I've so enjoyed all the frivolity etc & send a prayer or two to those not enjoying the best of health. And thank you too to Feline fanatic, for all the beautiful fabric you sent me. She didnt get any clues from me...just surprises... and I couldnt be more pleased with receiving all that cloth and the accompanying letter into which a lot of thought went! I really do have a stash now and I'm thinking of changing from m-fay to sandgroper (west Ausrlians are sandgropers)and starshine, I'm so happy you liked what i sent Hope you all hve a happy & Blessed Christmas. Marion

Tink's Mom 12-10-2013 07:28 AM

Computer still will not let me post a picture, so....I give up. Wonnie, I have packed up some of the wonderful stuff you sent to take with me to Mom's...she needs to see what was in the decorated box. Have to take Mom and me to the dr.this morning.
Granddaughter helped me last night to load up the soup mug...I think it is going to work next to the machine. (Didn't realize how much stuff I had there.) The crackers section works great for all those clips for around the quilt sandwich.
Many thanks again.

THANKS, TERRI!!! You're the best!

Hi everyone! I couldn't get on the computer yesterday, just too busy. Today is going to be the same way but I thought, I'm going to catch up with this no matter what.
First I want to thank Teri, you are a perfect host and a wonderful person. Hope you and yours have a merry and happy Christmas.
To Jaba, my SS. Thank you so much for all your gifts. I was recently burnt in another swap and really hesitated to join this one. I am so happy that I did. Not only did I enjoy putting my gifts together for my ss receiver but the anticipation that I had something waiting for me was so exciting. Thank you for also posting pictures of what you sent. I usually post pictures through my iPad but this time it really gave me so much trouble.
I am looking forward to next years swap and yes have already started a box!
Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year!

Yes it is... Don't you remember "The Bestest Present" it was a animation for TV in 1985 by the comic strip For Better or for Worse. One of our favorites we have a copy on VHS that we (DH and I) still watch every year. The Patterson family learns the true meaning of Christmas when Lizzie loses her stuffed bunny.

Chester the bunny 12-10-2013 12:17 PM

Oh My Goodness Dedemac, You made me look it up!
A million apologies to Dreamer!! IT IS indeed a word, although I always thought it wasn't.
Although as I said, it did describe Terri :o)

"bestest"
The super-superlative form of the word good.
singular: good
comparative: better
superlative: best
super-superlative: bestest

And yes it does describe Terri!

I have been thinking about getting the animation in DVD form for a present for DH this year, we are starting to wear the VHS out..
