Welcome to our Wall Hanging Swap!

You have 4 months to make a wall hanging of your choice.
This is an anything goes swap. There is no theme.

Size and Type of Wall Hanging:
Smaller than a lap quilt but larger than a mug rug.
Use any technique/ any style / any colors.
Embellishments are a fun way to add to your wall hanging if you like

There is No Sign Up list
There is no deadline to sign up.
There is no commitment beyond having a Wall Hanging ready to mail by the end of Feb.
So if you find you can't join in after all just save your WH til the next swap.
You can join in any time until the last day of Feb.
You only need to have a WH ready to mail by the last day of the swap
The only list that counts is the Ready to Mail list at the end
of the 4 month swap.
You must be on the Ready to Mail list to receive an address to mail to

Ready to Mail list
Ready to Mail list will be posted the middle of Feb 2022.
If you are not on this list you will not get an address to send to.
Deadline - Midnight central time last day of Feb 2022

As long as you have a wall hanging ready to mail you can join us any time
up to midnight on the last day of Feb 2022!

You will then send your wall hanging to the quilter who's address you get.
You will receive from a different quilter than the one you send to.
This is not a partner swap.

Anyone who is not done on time may enter theirs in the next swap.

....there is no surprise ruined by posting your pictures.
Prewashing or not is up to you

Chit Chat throughout the 4 months is encouraged. It can be on anything not just quilting.
Post pics of your pets or pics of the weather in your backyard etc. Share with us what is on your mind.
We love to chit chat and share what's going on in our lives while we plan and make the Wall Hangings.

I am hoping to join again but will need to wait till January to get going. this will give me lots of time to plan on what to make. Thank you rhonda for hosting, 10 Years this summer!

Thinking of joining in too. I love the results of the other swaps. You girls are so talented. I just want to make sure I can measure up.

So happy to hear that!! I miss some of the ones that no longer are here. I miss LuLu She kept the swap jumping. And several others that aren't playing anymore. But I know you get to that point when you have so many WHs you have no more room for them lol

Can;t wait to see what goodies you all produce for this round of the swap!!

We love seeing new people joining in!! All of us started at the beginning and no matter where you are on the journey we all love the fact that the WH you send was held in your hands, That is the personal touch! So skill is not the measure here. Enjoying the process and sharing something of yourself is the object of this swap!!
Yes I've received a piece that was not as good as it could be but that is not the most important part for us. We love the interaction both online and when we can hold what you made in our own hands.

So if you are inclined to try it just jump in and see what you can come up with. With no rules your imagination is as high as the sky!! I hope you join us!

I could have done with it over the Christmas New Years brake as we had a heat wave in the 40/43 celsius .We still do the English Christmas dinner in the middle of the day with no aircon but living on the coast we did get an early afternoon breeze . If only we had that snow ball fight

I agree with r-sea. I live a bit north of r-sea and we had 5 consecutive days of over 40c including 47.5 on Christmas day. Apparently that was the hottest Christmas day in the world and the top 10 were all in West Aust. Thank God for air conditioning.

I’ve started my Wall Hanging for the swap……😁…..
concentrating on piecing all these little pieces together.

That looks promising. I am getting ready to go camping and might just put a small kit together to make on my trip. Maybe a small wall hanging would be perfect. Nothing has come to mind yet but I have several possibilities.

Hope you all had happy holidays!! We actually got to get together with my family this year. We usually get together on Christmas eve day at my son's but this year after 2 yrs of not getting together we were able to go to my granddaughter's house for the dinner. Had a good time. Didn't get to see my great grandkids but oh well.

I am working on a swap project of my own fb group. My mom wants a hotbad for the mail lady who has been bringing mom's mail to her house so Mom didn't have to walk out in the snow and get it. So I need to make her one. lol

Rhonda….so glad you got to see some family, finally. It’s been hard on so many of us.

Been working on my sewing room…I posted some pictures on the Mission Organization thread, if interested. In between, I’ve made 3 quilts already this year using a scrap size I’ve been cutting and collecting for a few years. Had some extra units and made this table topper for sewing room. Other than that, it’s been cold and snowy so inside projects have kept me busy.

The weather is weird everywhere this year. Last year, my Winter in Idaho was so mild. This year, I experienced my first “0” degrees…It was so cold you couldn’t take a deep breath. We are back in the 40f ‘s again but still lots of snow on the ground. Crazy..

I was snowed in with no where to go and nothing to do except sew! Whoot! Well except for that Six hours we were without power. My WH for the swap is almost finished.

I made my wall hanging yesterday and it's all ready to go.

Any sneak peak m-fay? I still need to work on the bulk of it but fortunately have some time left.

Well, I took my bernina 440 in for a cleaning checkup and it decided to have a hissy fit. She pouted with a ton of tiny uneven stitches while using the BSR. I tried to correct and finish it up, but I am un-happy with it. So needless to say, I am sorry girls I can't swap. I hate backing out, but I must. This is no way my quality of work. Some days are just like that.
The new machine is not set up yet, so I had to use the 440 and it wasn't co-operating. I am sorry.

Here it is to prove I finished it anyway. Maybe next time.

Thanks, I thought it would be a sweet gift, but part of the quilting stitches are not right. I would not gift it to anyone. The thrift shop will enjoy getting it.

I know I have been away from the board for a while, but I have been busy. Learning new things, relearning old things, etc Found out, if you are learning something new like ruler work quilting, don't pick black thread to use on black fabric. Totally unable to see stitching. A good thing as it hides mistakes but very bad for learning to match starts and stops.

I got my wall hanging done and sent info to Rhonda. Can't post pic but will let you know it is called 'Heart of My Heart" by Susan Purney Mark. Think pink/green/black/lights; applique hearts, etc. Always wanted to do the pattern and now I have done 3. One for WH swap, one for myself, and one for Christmas 2022. So much fun.

RedGarnet, Your quilt is lovely! I don't see anything wrong with the stitching from here. My WH is complete and ready to send. And I have an idea already in my head for the next swap.

M-Fay, Your WH is stunning! Was this from a pattern or out of your head? If it was out of your head, how do I get in there to take a peek? LOL I never seem to have any ideas like that floating around in my head but wish I did.

Lena my swap partner in the pin cushion swap sent me a Ricky Timms book of convergence quilts. I'd seen them but couldn't work out how it was done.i love how it's done and have made another one for my daughter. Then I applique a kangaroo paw flower on it.
