I wouldn't mind if I received a mini, but I don't know about making one. I'm not too good a handling really small pieces.

As for the "pillowcase" method, I use it on my mug rugs. I started making MRs using regular binding, but then decided that the pillowcase method was more practical.

Hi all. This weekend was perfect for searching for an idea to use in the swap. Some practicing is in order for the success of the plan.

This is my first time trying GFG (Grandmothers Flower Garden) I want to start using the WHS to try new things and I have never done a GFG before. It will by a nice size to practice learning. Don't worry about the quality of this one. If it doesn't look good I won't be sending it to any one. I started early so I more chances to get it right or make something different.:D

Here is the fabric I want to use:

There is another fabric if this one doesn't finish to my liking and that one is a secret.

Fussy cut the pieces:

Here are four:

That is the start. Now I have to sew them together so they look good!
Make your week a good one.
peace

Hi R., The idea came from your Dresden Plate tutorial.:D I have done Dresdens' and wanted to do something out of my norm' by using hand work so just changed it up a bit. Thanks for the original idea.
peace

Ube, those are beautiful. Cannot wait to see the finished project.

You're welcome ube. I picked up the dresden ks somewhere when I first started quilting 30 years ago. Don't remember where I saw it. There are a few books on the market on how to make them but I didn't think they looked to easy to do the way it was presented. From what I've seen the Dresden Kaleidoscope isn't really out there much for quilters to learn. It isn't main streamed like the Stack and Whack has been.

Those are just so wow ube! I can't get over how they come out in the kaleidoscopes. the fabric design you used would never have occurred to me. I tend toward flowery leafy prints. I've been using my dks for Christmas ornaments. I'm making them about 4". these would make neat Christmas ornaments if they weren't too large. or you could make a Christmas wreath with them
