November 23 to January 24 Table Runner Swap

Hi Everyone,

I thought I had posted a table runner swap - but when looking for the thread it appears that I didn't.... I just thought I had!

Okay, so I am posting a new thread and new swap. Sign ups will run from now until the end of January 2024.

All the usual rules listed below.... and hopefully I will get it right this time.

Welcome to the ongoing Table Runner Swap. This swap will run from 1st November 2023 to the 31st January 2024.

You have until the 31st January 2024 to make a table runner - the theme this time is MAKERS CHOICE.

The table runner should be a minimum of 12” x 30”.
You can use any technique/any style.
All fabrics used should be 100% cotton.
The runner must have wadding and be quilted.

Sign Up list

There is no deadline so you can sign up at any time during the 3 months as this will be just an intention to participate. When you have made and are ready to mail your runner you can then sign up to the “ready to mail” list which is binding commitment.

But please remember that the only lists that counts is the Ready to Mail lists posted at the end of January 2024..

Ready to Mail list

The first Ready to Mail lists will be posted around 24th January 2024 (and will continually be updated) if you are not on this list and think you should be, please contact me asap and let me know - if you are not on the list you will not get an person/address to send to. The final list will be posted on the 31st January 2024.

Midnight on the 31st January 2024 is the deadline to get on the “Ready to Mail” list. If you want to take part, I will need the following:-

Real name
Your address
Whether you are willing to send international or not (Please consider this as it enables everybody to take part)
Allergy info
Pet and smoking information
Email address

As long as you have a table runner ready to mail you can join the ready to mail list by letting me know any time before the deadline.

Addresses Sent Out:

I will send out the name and address of the person you should send to on the 1st or 2nd February 2024. You will have 7 days to get your table runner in the mail - No Longer. If you are unable to keep this commitment - please do not sign up.

This is not a partner swap. You will send your table runner to the quilter who's address you get. You will receive from a different quilter than the one you send to.

Please remember that there are quilters of all abilities on this board and you should appreciate the table runner you receive as your sender will have worked hard to make it for you.

You are welcome to send some goodies in your package if you would care to, but please don't expect anything other than the table runner.

Please Note.... You must let me know when you mail and when you receive. Also, please PM the person that sends to you when you receive to say thank you and to let them know that the table runner that they have sent you has arrived - it is only polite to do so! And please remember that there are still delays with the postal services around the world so your runner may take some time to get to you!

So come and join our fun.

Hugs

Caroline

Hello Caroline! Thank you for facilitating this swap. It is so fun and I love participating. I did miss it this past year and am happy that you set up this thread. I hope we get some new participants since this is such an awesome swap. This is a shout out to all who are reading this but have not joined in yet. The old saying "the more the merrier" applies here :)

Very quiet on here. I guess we're all getting into Christmas mode and shopping and wrapping and cooking. I know I am

Annaquilts 11-20-2023 12:25 AM

I would love to participate but I can not think much further then Christmas. It is nice the runners are not due till the end of January.

m-fay 11-21-2023 04:23 AM

I'm concentrating on Christmas and Dec birthdays still but have my plan for table runner which I'll start in january

ekuw 11-21-2023 07:46 AM

'I know what I am going to make; have had it cut for a while now. Just need to start sewing it but, have to quilt the last top I made before I get started.

Northern Sue 12-09-2023 08:53 AM

I had to search for this new thread. I wonder if we should add a note to the last thread directing anyone interested to come here? Not sure why I didn't get a notice but that's OK. Just a thought!

Happy holidays to everyone!

CarolinePaj 12-09-2023 02:07 PM

Good Idea Sue I will do that.

Marion, what do you have in Australia for Christmas Dinner? UK = Turkey, USA = Hams, Australia = ??

It is a bit quiet but I think after Christmas things will liven up!

Hugs to all

Caroline

That sounds lovely m-fay. Since all the children pretty much moved away I think we are down to 2 adult sons. I will either do chicken or a small turkey if hubby helps. It used to be easily 30 people but that al changed. I miss it. We never did a seafood one but I would be all for it.

m-fay 12-14-2023 03:21 AM

im extremly lucky to have 3 of my 4 kids live local and 8 of 12 grandkids local and 9 of 10 great grandies local too but with social media the absent ones are only a phone call away. I love Christmas and it's great to be where the kids are

hav4boys 12-21-2023 08:22 AM

I am looking forward to this swap!

Northern Sue 12-24-2023 07:53 AM

It's Christmas Eve Day and we have snow! We were just a hair away from having a green Christmas! It's going to be mild most of the week so it might melt again but it only has to last tomorrow for me! lol It did cramp one of my sons & family coming for an early Christmas dinner yesterday, due to freezing rain/snow but they'll be here Boxing Day instead! Woohoo!
Our youngest son & family will be here later in the week too.

I just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a happy and safe holiday, regardless of what holiday you or do not celebrate. It's been a rough few years and we all deserve a happy, healthy time with family and friends. See you next year! :)

Northern Sue 01-02-2024 10:32 AM

I'm back to wish everyone a Happy, Healthy New Year! Watch out 2024 - the Table Runner Swap gals are up and stitching, taking the coming year by storm! lol

m-fay 01-03-2024 12:47 AM

I had this great idea and got started on it on NYD. I got lots oh triangles cut out and started sewing but it's way too large for a table runner , so now to come up with another plan

Northern Sue 01-04-2024 08:14 AM

My table runner is done and ready to go! Something must have kicked my butt over the holidays! I've been finishing up projects, one right after the other! Can I maintain that momentum? Doubt it! Haven't been outside in 4 days - getting a tad house crazy!!! lol

m-fay 01-08-2024 03:41 PM

I'm 6 rows into my revised plan. I think I've unpicked more than I've actually sewn.but as I progress with rows I'm doing less unpicking.. It's a real challenge.

this is getting curiouser and curiouser! lol

m-fay 01-12-2024 11:28 PM

I was kidding myself that it was getting easier. Checked and rechecked 12th row and still got it wrong. Now I'm contemplating doing something else or starting again from scratch. I hate it when it gets the better on me.

it hasn't got the better of you unless you put it in time out for years and years! You're the boss! Beat that thing into submission! lol I'm sure it will be lovely!

m-fay 01-14-2024 09:07 PM

I've started again from scratch.Just found some more unpicking to do but only to shorten it so it looks better.

CarolinePaj 01-17-2024 05:50 AM

HI Guys,

Just popped in to say hello! Sorry to have been MIA but I had the most awful dose of the flu. Went down on the 29th December and stayed down for quite some time. On the mend now so that's good.

Marion, keep on trucking baby - LOL LOL.... I am sure you will get there.

Sue, I have you on the ready to mail list!

Kathy, it is lovely to have you with us!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year and I wish you all health and happiness in 2024.

Hugs

Caroline

Northern Sue 01-20-2024 07:57 AM

hope you're feeling better Carolyn! These new bugs of 23 & 24 pack a nasty punch!

m-fay 01-20-2024 06:57 PM

I've got the binding sewn on ready to hand stich and I'm happy with the size now. I will finish both the others I started at a later date.

ekuw 01-22-2024 10:21 AM

I spent the weekend working on my runner and have made good progress. This is one is plan B since I ran out of time to make what I originally had in mind. Need to decide if I want more quilting on it, then bind. YAAY!

Not sure if I remember how to add a photo here, but I'll give it a shot! Footprints & hoof prints that might be visible in photo are compliments of one of my dogs Bailee and resident wildlife, a deer.
I think I might have done it!

m-fay 01-30-2024 03:13 PM

Wow

Love the colours Sue. It's beautiful. I must take a photo of mine.
