I had a great time and spent too much at the International Quilt festival in Houston . Lots of vendors and many attendees didn't come because of the rain and construction. But we viewed beautiful quilts!

Wow, I got my mug rug swap package from dotcomdtcm yesterday. Trying to send a pic. This week has been the pits for me and this computer. Anyways, got not one but 2 rugs with Christmas fabric and a dove appliqued on each. Perfect for me and hubby. Also Dotty included a quilt magazine and a neat homemade Christmas ornament. Thank you so much. A friend was here at the time the package was delivered and she got just a little jealous. Dotty, if you can send a pic, please do so. I will continue to try but can't promise I'll figure this out. I better get my fanny in motion and finish yours.

I think I figured out what went wrong when I tried to post a picture on Fri. So here goes, my swap with dotcomdtcm.

It is probably not a good idea to be on fabric websites' email list. I could not resist a cute Christmas fabric for this month's mug rug and I needed thread and then found another cute print, then I might as well add enough to qualify for free shipping. Oh, sheesh.

I just got home from the fabric store, and everything in there was $18.00 to $22.50 a meter ~ unreal.. the owner said the prices were going to be going up.. more.. as the new stuff comes in.

Finished! The binding is not perfect, per usual. It is also a little large at about 10"x12". I hope that is okay? Another question for future reference. I used cotton batting this time because that is what it said to use on the instructions, but is it okay to use poly? I have a lot more poly scraps laying about.

Leesewzany, I don't think it matters what batting you use in a mug rug. 10" x 12" is a bit large, but I doubt anyone will complain! Can't wait to see it....

Mike is doing very well, thank you for asking Crqltr. He has made great headway with his therapy. He is down to only two, occupational therapy for his hands and speech therapy for his swallowing. His right thumb and forefinger couldn't move at all. He now has movement in both. Every day he gets stronger and stronger.

He took his first outing to the library on Saturday and it wiped him out. So we are taking it slow and easy. He will go back to see his doctors this week.

Jaba, how is Monica? Has she totally recovered? Any news on Linda? Has she made it to rehab? I have a hard time keeping up with the threads completely, so I apologize if I am asking questions whose answers have already been posted!

Jaba what a great wedding you had. Your son and daughter in law are so lucky.

Great news about Mike. He's really doing great and I bet he'll soon be helping out with the chores.

I hope that Monica is doing great too.

I came home today and what a great swap I had waiting for me. I got 2 embroidered mug rugs, peppermint bark chocolate, 2 Christmas fat quarters and a Christmas tree ornament. I even got little gingerbread men on the gingerbread house. So cute. Thank you so much and I love everything.
