Quilty-Louise 11-18-2011 10:54 AM

Well I heard back from Patrice about the 2 swaps I wanted to
do.

One of them she declined to allow me to do it oh well so be it.
The other she said it needed some tweaking and that she would
get in touch with me tomorrow, so we will see how that will go for
it.

Well Patrice replied back to be requesting that I resubmit
my request after Nov. 15 so I just finished sending her the
new request, in fact I sent her a request for 2 different
kinds of requests.

So with that said we shall see IF either of them get the approval
or not.

Keep your fingers crossed.

Charles received his secret pal package from Vickie W. He is dictating to me what he wants me to say...his excuse....I CANT TYPE. LOL. I told him to hen peck but he wouldnt go for that. So this is what he is saying.

"Thank You Vickie W for the nice package. I liked everything you put in it. My favorite thing was the flies that were handmade by your cousin. He did a nice job.
This is what Vickie sent to me.
8 fishing flies handmade by her cousin, a picture in a frame with a bible verse Isaiah 40:31, an Uncle Sam figurine, a note table with snowmen on it, a pen, 5 fat quarters, a deck of cards, and a small wooden box with pheasants on it. M & M's, kit kat, and Reeses peanut butter cups. And a really nice letter. My wife laughed when I was reading the note where Vickie says "however, there are times I know he is also suffering from Husband's ear". That was supposed to be one of men's top secret secrets..women were not supposed to figure that out. LOL"

I am trying to attach a picture of his goodies..hopefully it will work. :) Thank you again for Charles Vickie.

Lousie, at least tell us which one got shot down!

Quilty-Louise 11-18-2011 11:58 AM

Teresa,
The swap that was shot down was a R.A.K. address swap. Basically only
thing being swapped would be mailing addresses to be "saved" (sent
via pm's ONLY).
I will explain what it is that I DO on my own. When I am in a swap
(and for those who wish to be put on my "list" outside of swaps), I
"save" the addresses and put them on my list.

Than at random times I will select one, two or even more "names"
and just perform a R.A.K. (random act of kindness) by sending the
person(s) a little note that says "thinking of you" or I have been
known to send a little box of "goodies" or even just a fat quarter.

But the thing is it is all random I may not send anything for a month
or so, but than again I may send 1-20 (depending on what the budget
is like) more in a month.

I know it probably sounds confusing, but for me I have a "system" worked
out that I have been using for over 3 years from another quilting group
(cafemom).

I LOVE reading the comments from those who receive something me
because they are surprised by the randomness of it.

But since that swap was shot down, I will continue to collect the addresses
from the swaps I join and slowly build my list that way.

One thing I do NOT do is SHARE anyones information unless I specifically
have thats persons permission to share their address. In fact I have all
that kind of information password protected on my computer even my family
(mainly hubs) can not access the info.

I take my friends person information such as their addresses seriously. So
just be "warned" that if you have done ANY kind of swap with me it is HIGHLY
likely that someday you might just receive a little something outside of any swaps.

Kris I love the wall hanging you made. Krystyna Daisy Mae's new outfit is divine. All the other doggies will be so jealous.
Juli how is your sister and the new baby? Is it a boy or girl? Mary any ideas how to handle the presser foot when I teach my granddaughter to sew? Should I put it on box and let her press it (shutters) or should I press the petal for her? Airwick I'm so glad that Charles is having fun doing the swap with us.

Quilty-Louise 11-18-2011 02:24 PM

Robyn,

Sure I will swap addresses with you and anyone else who wishes too.
Just go right ahead and send me a PM.

Robyn I let my grandkids start with the peddle. I move the machine to the coffee table so they can work the peddle. This is done with no needle and pressure foot down. Then they learn to use the needle no thread on paper. Then you just move them as they get the hang of things. Mine learn it is a machine and they can get hurt so lets start with the small stuff first.Good luck.Louise sorry your swap was denied.Hope the other is accepted.Charles you recieved a wonderful swap. You also sent a terrific swap. Glad your in the secret pal swap with all of us.Lori husband ear is when they never hear a word their wife says. My husband has it really bad.Only thing that helps is a big ole frypan lol.Carrot I love the list for going to the waiting bench.lolLeiladylei I think that purple fabric is mine. ANY color EXCEPT brown.

I want to thank my secret pal Katie Ann for the wonderful box of goodies. It came while I was in the hospital. I have been fighting pneumonia for 2 weeks, and spent 5 days in the hospital, 4 of which I was in the ICU. The box included a few fat quarters, garden gloves, a book, a journal, candy (yum!), some lotion and a pink pair of scissors! I was spoiled! Thank you so much! :)
