My 10 sets of blocks are in the mail! If really wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. ;)

deranged_damsel 05-13-2010 05:16 PM

I would like to sign up! I dont know how many sets I could do.

SewExtremeSeams 05-14-2010 04:42 AM

Yes, Missi, I would like to sign up. I would like to aim for 10 sets but commit to 4 sets to begin with. Can I update this after I begin to cut? I am in love with doing mini quilts. This should be a great boost to doing more. Thank you.

PS: do I also need to PM you?

Janetlmt 05-14-2010 07:35 AM

I mailed my 10 sets on tuesday..can't wait until the swap begins...Thank you for hosting this swap
Blessings

craftymainemom 05-15-2010 08:11 AM

Ok...I'm ready to get into another swap. I was a little overwhelmed with the Boomerang swap and the Ispy swap and well you get the idea. I have been saving the little leftovers from all my swapping and cutting them into 1.5 inch squares. I think I have 6 sets.

sueisallaboutquilts 05-15-2010 08:20 AM

Missi- count me in!!!!!!!!!!!!
It sounds like so much fun. Thanks for hosting it :D

That is what I was just thinking today... one set for Missi, one for myself and 10 sets for the swap! I better get started though... that will be 600 - 1.5" squares! :-P

STAR 05-15-2010 05:07 PM

WOW! I didn't even think about a total count! that makes us sound crazy for cutting all those, lol

SewExtremeSeams 05-15-2010 09:27 PM

Star, crazy, nuts, dedicated.... I think I agree with you. Crazy!

Forget about the count, just think of the fun of putting those sets together and then receiving that number of sets back WITHOUT (in most cases) having to go out and buy, let's say.... 600 pieces of different fabrics.

See, now that doesn't make us sound so crazy, does it???

STAR 05-16-2010 03:30 PM

nah!! I think you had it with dedicated, lol

mrspete 05-17-2010 11:10 AM

I'd love to join. Count me in with four sets.
Thanks, Ruth

SewExtremeSeams 05-17-2010 01:46 PM

Missi, I started cutting my little tiny squares and am up to 20 different fabrics; doing 12 sets. Sewwww, I am going to commit to 10 sets; one for you and one for myself!

I am actually enjoying the process. :-D

Missi 05-18-2010 12:10 PM

Alu_Rathbone 05-21-2010 12:34 PM

bearisgray 05-22-2010 11:01 PM

Forgive me if this has been asked before -

What in the world do you do with different 1.5 inch squares - besides make a postage stamp quilt?

goldendog55 05-23-2010 10:52 AM

I was in the previous swap and there was a limit of 10 sets per person. Is there a limit this time?

Mosaic quilts... pot holders... place mats... things like that.

Mary Hen 05-23-2010 04:06 PM

I would like to participate in the swap of 1.5 in. squares. I would like to do 4 sets.

Missi 05-24-2010 06:23 AM

HELP - someone sent me a package and didn't include their board name. I don't know who you are :) Package is from Wisconsin and the first name is Diane. Please PM me who you are are :)

Missi 05-24-2010 06:26 AM

DON'T FORGET TO PUT YOUR BOARD NAME ON YOUR BAGGIES. EITHER WRITE IT ON WITH A MARKER OR USE A LABEL. The free labels you get in the mail with your return address work great and you can usually write your board name on it somewhere.

craftymainemom 05-24-2010 10:01 AM

Missi, I sent you eight sets instead of 6.

BATmama 05-24-2010 10:19 AM

Missi, I mailed my 10 sets today and I'm very sorry I forgot to put the labels on the individual baggies. I put it on the larger one with all the little bags inside. Do you want me to send stick on labels for the little bags?

Missi 05-24-2010 11:38 AM

Don't worry about it this time I will write on them for you. I have you put your board name on them for two reason. 1) people know who they came from and 2) when I swap them out I can try and prevent people from getting two from you.

BATmama 05-24-2010 03:31 PM

Thank you

mygirl66 05-25-2010 05:59 AM

I'm in for 4 set's! Im going to do a mosaic quilt......one of these days, this will be perfect! What an awesome idea!

Andy323 05-26-2010 09:10 AM

Andy323 05-26-2010 09:20 AM

Not a silly question at all! I've not seen the blocks obviously but know how many colors I had so I'm looking forward to just laying it out and being creative. Maybe use one of my counted cross stitch type patterns! I might even use up more of my stash of pieces since this didn't even make a dent! I did a postage stamp wall hanging once and it convinced me that many pieces of fabric can actually go together even though in a big piece I would never put it together!

how about a sudoku (sp) layout for a small doll quilt or mug mats/ pot holders?

SewExtremeSeams 05-27-2010 04:14 PM

YIPPEE... I finished my 10 sets last night.

This morning I counted one set just to make sure and found I had put 60 - 1.5" squares in it. HuH?

Looked on the wall where I had hung a sample each time I completed cutting 10 pieces from each fabric and found that I had done 6 rows of 10 fabrics. Must have gotten too excited about completing my sets. Oh well, my loss your gain. Not loss really. A treat for those who get my sets. Oh, and I included a set for you Missi. I will get those in the mail tomorrow. :-D :-D :-D

TammyD 05-28-2010 03:30 AM

I hope I get one of yours! :-D I think I have a few extras in my bags too.

Missi 05-28-2010 10:48 AM

I was at a Premiere Jewelry party last night and scooped up all of the little plastic bags that they package their jewelry in. Everyone kept asking - what do you want them for :)

mrspete 06-01-2010 08:03 AM

some of you already mailed, I'm waiting for an address or is it posted somewhere?

Thank You

sapdoggie 06-01-2010 08:05 AM

I think I can get ten sets done by this weekend. Would like to join the fun.

Thank You

Send Missi a PM and she will send you her snail mail address.

MISHNJIM 06-01-2010 08:54 AM

What do you do with the 1 1/2" squares? Are you using them as fillers? Not quite sure what to do with that small of a square.

smtp5 06-01-2010 09:00 AM

I was wondering also. Do someone has quilts made with that size or a Doll quilt?

mrspete 06-01-2010 09:40 AM

I plan on using them for borders. If Eric's Mystery Quilt doesnt have anything designated then this will be the border for it. I can't wait!

Blessings, Ruth

(I like your Rail Fence Quilt. That is my favorite pattern, smtp5.)
